Understandable, but sad nonetheless

Because of skeletons in the (national) closet?

Happy 4th of July!
Hope you guys have some delicious BBQ or fireworks(do you actually eat BBQ or is it just some thing I have seen and if yes, how good does it taste?)!

BBQ is a broad term

Every night, now playing: Soundtrack from Ukraine.

Not American myself but I do live in the U.S.
BBQ for me is more like the sauce and its a broad term for generally cooking meat or burgers in a grill, however I'm guessing you mean cooking ribs with BBQ sauce. If so then it's amazing and you should try it, however if you are not the type of person who eats much then you might want to have an empty stomach beforehand.
Also, yes, some people do cook outside and stuff.

They started using them last night and my dog was terrified.

Yes, I meant that! Even though I have never eaten ribs or stuff even close to that "meaty" it still looks really good on the pictures and whenever my neighbours grill the smell is... very tempting. Maybe one day I'll do something like that but for now I'll stick to my boiled potatoes, only seasoned with salt, a few other boiled vegetables and some fish, chicken or maybe even some beef on top.

What variety of potatoes?

You don't want to know how many different kinds we have...
And if you mean mealy or waxy potatoes, we have and eat both.

Oh yes I would like to know, my family usually grows kennebec’s and red norland’s, but I am curious what you guys grow.

It rained today here for me, that’s a good thing.

So I was about to rant about the state of the roads where I live but then I realized I’d probably dox myself. Oh I get so frustrated. So I’ll try not to dox myself.

So basically I live on a gravel road, and if you accelerate too fast on gravel you’ll create a wash board effect. So we have some neighbors who like to toy with their vehicles and they really just make the roads rough and it irritates me. Also, I live in a county with fricking narrow gravel roads, every other county seems to have wide roads but the ones around me.

There isn't a lot of exciting stuff happening here except for maybe that the weather is a lot better than last few years'. We have strong yearly floods but whatever happened in the last few years was crazy: Either the water level was extremely low and the droughts made food a lot more expensive or we had huge floods that made the whole city centre in the valley disappear beneath meters of water. The buildings down there are built with strong waterproof foundations because back then the yearly floods were much worse than they were in the last few decades so the area isn't hit as strongly when it floods but the newer buildings in the city centre... let me just tell you that nobody would have liked to be in them.
But this year on the other hand has been very mild. I mean it's hot enough for me to sweat in a passive state but all in all, food is JUST FIVE times as expensive than in the neighbouring countries, usually when we have droughts or floods it's just TWICE as expensive!
Yeah about that last part... We who live here are really kind of getting screwed over. Cooking oil is over 4 times more expensive than in any country neighbouring ours. Food is expensive here but even that is crazy.

A few of them translated into English are called: Grumbeer, Annabelle, Allians, Quarta, Marabel and Berber. We have a lot more but these are a few of the ones that grow in the region I live in(ok maybe a bit south of my location).

This brittney griner case has gotten me thinking about how stupid and naïve westerners can be.

These people, they travel with this idea that their rights and abilities in the west are everywhere. They then go into these places and are like the Russians are violating my rights, state department come save me!!! They forget to realize they must follow the law of the land, and the land is Russia. I don’t care if the laws are unfair and unjust or discriminatory, they are the law, you still have to follow them. Russia is going to hold you for leverage in conditions that would be frowned upon in the west? As long as it is up to par to their own law and their own precedent, then they have every right to do that. Oh yeah, they make the law and precedent, and can change it nearly on a whim. Deal. With. It. You chose to go there, you should have understood their law and situations, you are accountable for your actions.

Oh but the UN law! they will say, Russia has its fair share of legal geniuses, they can find a work around or loop hole, believe me.

What is that one about? Some moron travelled to russia and broke some local law and was thrown to prison there? Reminds me of the case when some western feminists went hiking to yemen to show the world how progressive the country is. They were beheaded by locals.

Brought vapes with hashish oil in them to Russia, which is illegal. Now she is on a tear about how bad everything is and how the system is rigged and is getting mad at the state department and the media can’t get enough.

A sham of justice leaves room for planting evidence.

I'm coming a bit late, but here it is: happy 4th of July to all Americans! Be proud of your country, and never forget it. It is your roots, where you come from, and political and social divisions must never ever come before the shared glory of being part all together of a beautiful country.

On a more personal note, many thanks to the Americans for having emptied the coffers of the Kingdom of France with the War of Independence and for having indirectly contributed to the invention that has most marked the history of the human specie for the social progress it brings: the guillotine. :-)
