Welcome to New Hyperion!

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to suppress that. I hit the wrong button.

Salutations to you as well, I hope to have a good time here.

I'm honestly not sure what the hell happened.

I got my ass kicked by a bunch of things, and has it actually been SEVEN MONTHS?

Yeah, we could incorporate this into canon... With all my major worlds besieged and isolated.

Welcome back! Hope things are alright.

It's good to be back! I honestly had no idea it'd been this long! Uni was pretty crazy and exhausting (but fun! Most interesting semester thus far!) and then Corona came. My cat got really sick and it took months to get to any sort of solution - we're giving him chemo pills now that should extend his life to a normal length if they work, so here's hoping...
Also, both my laptops decided to randomly die on the same day and I didn't have a backup. A lot of files were lost forever... So I've now switched to storing everything in Google Drive.

Battle of New Jacinto
The Scrin assault towards the capital of Goliad City was well underway when the trap was sprung: an enormous minefield had been laid, a mixture of anti-personnel, anti-armor, and incendiary mines, all of which inactive until the signal was sent. The Scrin offensive found itself in the middle of a carpet of explosions as the mines’ trigger mechanisms fired and instantly killed hundreds of thousands of Scrin soldiers. The charge was stopped cold, confusion reigning supreme as the Masterminds tried to reorganize the offensive, to little avail as with every step a Scrin might advance, they would find themselves in a sniper’s sight or step on a mine and be shredded or blown to pulp. Once the trap had been sprung, IDF artillery and aircraft added their own ordnance into the mix, while Razvedka sniper teams began picking off Masterminds. Before long, all semblance of order was lost, and the Scrin panicked. Annihilator tripods crushed infantry troops as they tried to get clear, Devourer tanks were stopped cold, destroyed outright or too heavily damaged to keep moving and easy pickings for artillery fire. Gun Walker IFV’s were too light to set off anti-armor mines by themselves, but they were setting off secondary proximity fuses rendering the point moot, while anti-infantry mines were triggered by them which, while hardly damaging Gun Walkers, cut down any infantry around them. The chaos was complete, and in a span of 2 minutes, the equivalent of 10 combat divisions had been annihilated.

If we get the ball rolling again, I plan to show the actual size and strength of the IDF... The Terran Civil War was fought by divisions. The New Scrin Wars will be fought by Army Groups.

It's good to hear from you again! I'll be honest, I didn't really have the will to cut you from the RP.

I wouldn't have held it against you if you did! We had a good thing going, and then I up and disappear basically forever without notice... Thanks for not giving up though! :D

I kinda like the short bit I did a while back for the bomber crew attacking a ship. I think I should do more like that for tank crews, Titans, etc.

Definitely, some bits focusing on common soldiers adds a nice bit of variety! I was once part of an RP where I had this massive mercenary army squaring off against a Nazi regime, and alongside the big movements I had a few pieces following a specific F-35 pilot.

Damn, welcome back!

A loooong time has passed.

Yeah, no kidding! I wanted to take a break to recharge after New Year's, and... Here we are. Fu*king Corona, man... My girlfriend's trapped on the other side of the planet, my grandfather nearly died, my cat nearly died, uni got more intense than ever somehow, combine that with me not really having a sense of time passing? Bad things happen. :(

So, is Dysonia still with us? I have to figure out just where my Defense Council ran off to. Either Dysonia, or Navarro if he's inactive.

Ostrachia Also I forgot where things left off on the Ostrachian front, could you give me a recap?

The media: Temperatures are going to hit 105 degrees! We're going to have a dry season! The rivers will dry up, farms won't be able to irrigate, watering your garden will be outlawed!
The weather: HoW aBoUt EnDlEsS RaIn? 🤓

Yeah, the media is just so dumb these days. It's like they'd summon the devil himself just to get views. The desperation is abysmally apparent. So much of what they put out is just BS meant to rile you up or strike fear into your heart.

Remember how hydroxychloroquine was "dangerous" back in March? Yeah, it's been around for over a century, and doctors everywhere across the US were so confused as to why they suddenly were banned from prescribing it to patients. Apparently, according to CNN, now it can help people survive COVID-19. Which we could've figured out months ago if the media didn't put out a scare piece on it to spit in Trump's face and then every health organization following the media instead of trained medical professionals. How many lives could we have saved? I don't know. But the whole situation was total BS and should never have happened.

Scrin is gone, and Platonia is a Tiberium R&D/Mining area now.

Got in some trouble with Dysonia and Aragonn but that’s about it.

I don't think it's desperation when they have at least 60 million people going "shut up and take my money", they have a solid power base - nah, they're working on sustaining and growing their influence over legislature and making big bucks all the while... I recall how the President said something like a bleach-based vaccine might be promising and our friends at Corrupt News network twisted it into "Trump wants people to drink bleach".
Yeah, Corona is a dangerous virus. No, it's not going to be the end of the world. Rather, what the end of the world as we know it is being caused by is that people are utter morons, fueled by incompetence, mismanagement, overreaction, and the constant 180's that leave me wondering what the h*ll is real anymore. 6 feet apart? Its usefulness ha been debunked, but now it's being written into law, and it's scary how willing people are to just obey without hesitation.

The World: Lockdown.

Vietnam: What bruh, we’re done with corona.

Troomp’s America: Im makin money and no one can stahp me!!!1!1

Turkmenistan takes the cake though, although I haven't heard about it in a while. EU's internal borders are open again, while US states are going back into lockdown... Seems like the world can't decide on the best way to deal; situations like this is literally why the UN exists but it is proving useless as usual.
