Kromkarie wrote:The train halts at the border pulling up at the recently setup outpost on the border. The KMIA agents check the papers of the delegates and Emperor. The delegates are moved to a Zeppelin and sent to the palace.

As the delegates enter the palace, the Prime Minister noticing their arrival walks over and greets them with the accompany of 2 KMIA agents. While walking over one of the KMIA agents whispers to the Prime Minister, "When do I get to shoot these Versalean scum".

"All in good time my friend, but for now we must make amends for our past conflicts", the PM replies.

"I swear sir if you don't give the order, I'll have to make one up." The agent says grinding his teeth.

The PM ignoring the agent moves towards the Versalean Emperor, "Greetings Ruler of Versale, welcome to Kromkarie. I hope we can make amends from all that conflict as we need to discuss some terms that will benefit our 2 nations. It is of no surprise that many nations are forming factions and that we must safeguard the south-east being the most powerful nations. We must quell the threat of democracy don't you agree. Please join me for a drink so we may discuss."

The PM continues to explain his idea of a Economic bloc, a faction based around economic prosperity and trade control of the region.

The Versalean delegation would quickly move to give the Kromkarians gifts in the form of Versalean fine wines. Stern faces could be seen on the legionnaries but the Empereur made sure to greet the reception with a smiling face.

"Greetings Monsieur, this day will truly be a pleasure for all involved" beamed Vaugrenard.

The Consulists saw the Kromkarian government as one that was of great economic importance due to its' proximity, albeit, a decayed system that lacked in vision for the future. The proposed idea of a trade system between the two nations was agreeable despite Versale's interest in maintaining near-complete self-sufficiency. Trade relating to taxes along the two nations' shared ocean ways and close borders would be proposed; however, trade of goods between the two nations would remain limited.

"Along with these limited trade deals we would like to offer a non-aggression pact to prevent future conflict. We respect your wish for not becoming dependent on other nations as we share a similar view." PM says while leaning in to whisper, "Now for the real deal, we want you to help us establish shared trade control of the south-eastern region. Since we share a similar view and the other nations from our area are questionable in ideology, we want to form a system where these nations are dependent on us for allowing trade out of our region and requiring our economies for theirs's to function. They will essentially be our puppets, but officially they are independent and if we fail, so what we can't be accused of anything, it's just good business." PM leans back with a smile.

The Coast Reaches Out!
Jesruriz

Aboard a small flying courier vessel sat Captain Pintel Cheesare. Currently, he was heading towards Anercia, on a mission personally given to him by the Pirate Lords themselves. Since the Anercians seemed to have a somewhat similar ideology to the Coast's own code of conduct, it had been decided that a diplomatic mission be sent to start proper talks and perhaps secure access to Anercian ports for vessels of the Coast that simply couldn't make it back to the homeland.

As the vessel entered Anercian airspace and territory, the diplomatic flag of the Broken Coast was raised, consisting of a light blue and black background with a white arm centered on it.

Coastal Representative Received With Warm Welcome
Laiakia
They were to meet in the White Palace for negotiations, landing in the eastern hanger they met with the President and his Aides. What they would see of the President was his signature mustache, a thick and military-complaint one, and his short clean cut hair. His face had a strong jaw and skin aged due to his stressful tenure as Field Marshal. “Well come to Anercia my coastal friends!” He hugged the representative and shook their hands, the Press in the background went wild and frantically took pictures. Then he ushered them into the Palace and in the western wing to discuss things. The room he had them in sat them down in a round table, where they could see him and his diplomatic cabinet pulling out contracts and papers. “Let's get started shall we? I want to say that our two nations can coexist peacefully and fruitfully, and with your cooperation we can benefit from our mutual trust.” He deftly spoke.

Internal Bureau of Security Formed

Ashton called a private meeting with his Minister of the Interior, Vice President, and Chief Strategist. They sat down, the hurried minister asked, “So what is this meeting about?” He asked. His name was Isof Kruger, a stout and bulky man, in his 60’s and bald, but still vigorous and lively. He was the former chief of police in Valesord, he led many crackdowns on crime and corruption, the perfect man for the job. “I have yet to secure internal peace within our borders, you know, with all the protests and my seedy opposition.” Ashton said. Isof seemed peaked by this, “I see.” He said. “With my powers we can form a different type of police force, one with enhanced authority, to protect this country, our country! From internal harm.” The president explained. “I get you Ashton, we do need this, but the public won’t like-” Isof was interrupted. “The public won’t know nor our opposition, this is strictly state matters that won’t be known for some time.” Finn rebutted. “Yes and it will give us the tools necessary to take out state enemies.” Aleksander remarked. “That decides it then sir, I will get my contacts and men ready.” Isof saluted them and left.

"Aye, that be true.", captain Cheesare said as his accompanying crew members small talked amongst themselves about the rate of which contracts and various papers.

"Well, as ye know, the Brotherhood of the Broken Coast has trouble operating this far away from our central position, not only due to the entrance strait that takes our vessels past Kromkarie and Versale, but also to the general lack of supplies for an extended privateering venture." The captain paused and looked around the room, noting it's architecture. "Now, we honest buccaneers do wonder what'd ye want in exchange for allowing the vessels of the Coast, both sea-faring and perhaps aerial too, to enter your ports."

The pirate seemed to want to say something more, but cut himself off before looking around at the table. "Ye don't have any drinks suitable for such people as me, do ye? Rum, preferablly."

He snapped his fingers, “Rum for the good gentleman please.” His aides rushed to give them a basketful of fine Valish Rum aged 50 years ago. “Made by the royals awhile ago, it's good for the soul.” He handed a bottle to the delegate. “Simple, we want infrastructure investments of roads and rail lines.” He handed him a map that sought to upgrade major roadways in the northern part of Anercia. A highlighted line going to Tarvost and Valesord indicates a rail line expansion there. “Oh and military advisors to train our new generation of officers. Of course for this generous investment we offer you this.” He gave him a piece of paper. “Amnesty for your ships, provided that you promise not to pirate within our nautical borders and our trade vessels, within our borders. Free docking rights and heavily discounted repair costs. Along with access to cheap prices on our grain markets. So what do you say?”

Terrorist Attack Shocks the Nation!

Valesord Post

Yesterday, the city of Carnolia experienced brutal violence at the hands of Scarlettan Terrorists. A bomb was set off in the City Hall killing 12 and injuring 40, the building has caved in due to the damage. Three suspects have been apprehended trying to leave the city, they have been brought in for questioning and two of them already confessed to the crime. This is one of the first attacks by a group known as the “Rosa Freedom Coalition”, and we here at the Valesord Post predict its not going to be the last.

The Minister of the Interior commented, “This is a heinous and cowardly act on our nation, we will find those responsible and prosecute to the best of our ability!” The President has also stated that, “We will hunt these terrorists and bring peace to our nation.” Hinting at the possibility of military action taken against the RFC. Many Scarlettan citizens have vocalized their opinions, with many being against the violence, but some have justified it. The Scarlettan Rights Party have also disavowed the RFC and distanced themselves from their movement.

Current government estimates put the RFC as a rogue militia consisting about 5 thousand members, with 10 active cells within the country. Their headquarters are rumored to be in the western mountains or the forests near Metaxas.

Hopefully they will be brought into justice for disturbing our country’s beloved peace.

KMIA Report - Unrest

Several small firefights have broken out between armed forces and the populace in an organised fashion in the city Alverton and surrounding areas. The city of Kolvers is experiencing mass protests along with Kilton. Several people have been detained and interrogated to which we have found these are organised. These interrogated members called themselves The United Workers Revolution. It has been declared that these people are a terrorist organisation and therefore deemed heretics. In relations to the unrest, the government has lost contact with the western part of Northex with anyone entering the area seemingly disappearing. It is suspected that these are more rebels but, witnesses outside of the region report strange activities associated with our glorious god Zoion including kidnapping and symbols carved into areas as well as blood notes.

It has been ruled that more KMIA divisions shall be sent to the western part of Northex as well as to the cities of Kilton, Alverton and Kolvers dismissing the military forces temporarily in exchange for KMIA forces.
Priority actions:
- Find the leader of the UNR
- Investigate the Western part of Northex
- Quell protests without lethal force unless directed otherwise

President Responds to Unrest in Kromkarie

Valesord Post

In response to the rumors and reports of mass protests in the nation of Kromkarie, the President has announced his support to the protesters, stating that,“The current state of Kromkarie is barbaric and undemocratic, any change to these affairs is therefore welcomed and I support it.” He has given no further words since.

Whatever is happening there, we will wait with bated breath, what will be the future of Kromkarie?

Meeting With the President

Under the guise of being a trade vessel, an Air-Ship landed in the city of Kolvers, where two important men shall meet together. It was early morning, the dew still fresh, the sun still rising and the air still chilly. The turbines on the vessel died down and the gangway was laid, there came out a strong-looking man in a black suit and blue tie. Along with him three bodyguards, heavily armed and ten more in the ship. He shook Archer’s hand, this leader in the fight for democracy in Kromkarie, Ashton admired deeply.

Meeting with the Vice-President

This meeting had the Vice-President aboard a steam-ship bound for Kilton. It wasn’t as nice as an airship, or as fast, but it was discrete enough to smuggle him into the country. In the cargo hold had crates with false bottoms and covers, there it was filled to the brim with guns and ammunition, all under sacks of potatoes.

A few hours later he reached Kilton and snuck out with his security through the unloading area. There he met with his contacts, local resistance leaders who were willing to take his guns and ammo in exchange for a meeting with their leader. The elusive Vincent Hicks operating in Alverton. The deal went through and they transported him in a truck headed towards the city.

He looked out of the truck window and looked in awe at the sheer industrialism of the countryside. Factories, smokestacks, and heavy clouds of smog stretching into the distance. And in his journey he found only a handful of farms but with no workers on it.

In the city itself they drove through a place undergoing change already. It was the first time that he'd ever been in a city where the working class was in the saddle. Practically every building of any size had been seized by the workers and was draped with red flags or with the red and black flag of the Anarchists; every wall was scrawled with the hammer and wrench and with the initials of the revolutionary parties; almost every church had been gutted and its images burnt. Every shop and café had an inscription saying that it had been collectivized. Down the central street, the wide central artery of the city where crowds of people streamed constantly to and fro, the loudspeakers were bellowing revolutionary songs. In outward appearance it was a town in which the wealthy classes had practically ceased to exist.

But they stopped in front of a barrack in the eastern portion of the city, a flag of pure red color snapped mightly in the wind overhead. Aleksander got out of the car and thanked his contacts, then stepped inside. The whole barracks was in the state of filth and chaos to which the militia reduced every wing of the building they occupied and which seems to be one of the by-products of revolution. In every corner he came upon piles of smashed religious items, broken saddles, brass cavalry-helmets, empty sabre-scabbards, and torn red uniforms. He was directed to a room where the leader was sitting in, entering he met the man behind the revolution.

"Well, I'm sure the Pirate Lords back 'ome will be satisfied. We have an accord, then?" The pirate captain reached forth and put his arm up on the table, preparing to shake hands and seal the deal.

Military Advancement Act

The general staff of the Armed Forces have called a meeting with President Ashton on the state of the Military. He and the Minister of Defense traveled from Valesord to Camp Strong via Airship and saluted a column of soldiers marching in a parade just for him. Then he was met by twelve high-ranking military officers, a far cry from the twenty-four usually present before the war. They all saluted him, all in a row of colorful but outdated royal-era uniforms, from red to blue and white it was like an odd rainbow. He saluted back and made them drop their arms, then headed into the main administration building in the camp.

Camp Strong itself was a 16k acre area cordoned off for the military during the expansion of the royal army. It is an impressive training and headquarters base that can hold up to a quarter million men. There the camp is akin to a small city, with shops, homes, and barracks sprawling the place to accommodate its local civilian population as well as new trainees.

Inside they enter a meeting room with a large oak round table in the middle, flanked on all sides with charts and graphs. On the table itself was a small scale reconstruction of the entire map of the country, with little figures representing divisions and armies. All the aides and soldiers not relevant were dismissed and told to leave. The Minister of Defense cleared his throat and spoke, “Mr President on today’s agenda is the topic of the military’s budget and restructuring.” Albert explained. Albert was a man at 5’11 and blonde hair, he was only in his late 30’s, much younger than the president or the generals at the table. But he made up for it in his aptitude, an expert in the field of logistics, he was responsible for the Republican Militias being mobilized and armed during the entirety of the civil war. “The state of our armies is well, in dire disrepair,” He was interrupted. “Disrepair is an understatement! Our camps are underfunded and under maintained, there are barely any officers to lead our men, and our chain of command is nearly broken!” General Luger Dungren, a 70-year old officer with a scarred eye spoke out loudly. “I hear you Luger but please let Alber explain.” Ashton assured him.

“As i said our military is in no condition to actually fight a real war. The General Staff and I have drafted a new bill that would introduce millions of roses into the military to bring it up to snuff.” He handed the President a piece of paper. Reading it, he spotted a few highlighted points:

-An overall 220 Million Rose investment into the Military
-Subsidies for military-equipment manufacturers
-Five new military officer schools
-New standardized uniforms shall be issued
-Splitting large army groups into smaller divisions for faster mobilization
-Rebuilding of northern and southern fortifications that were destroyed during the war
-Increased maintenance funding for military camps
-More generous enlistment package

“This-this is very expensive, this will introduce a deficit in our budget.” Ashton rebutted. “But this is a crucial step in modernizing and reorganizing our military.” Albert explained. “I see, for the safety of our country, nothing is too much. I’ll pass this as a decree.” The generals looked very please and happy. He signed on it and saluted the generals for their time, then left for the White Palace.

Anti-Terror and Crime Act

A new bill was passed through the General Assembly called the “Anti-Terror and Crime Act” with a slim 2/3rds majority. This bill will place road security checkpoints in the southern portion of the country, primarily in Narba, Metaxas, and Carnolia. Enact a temporary curfew for three months, in which citizens have to be at home at 9pm or face heavy fines or jail time. It will also allow police to suspend the use of warrants to allow for more thorough and timely searches. Military units are allowed to conduct search raids in high-crime and suspected terrorist neighborhoods.

In tandum with this bill, the general staff are instructed to launch a military campaign to battle these terrorist militias. The 1st, 4th, and 8th Central Army Divisions are mobilized to the south to remove these hostile elements from the country.

President Terrorizes The Population!

The Carnolia Journal

In a press briefing yesterday, President Ashton Mercer has decided to abuse our rights and constitution to find “Terrorists''. The new bill allows police to search you whenever they want without a warrant, place a strict curfew, and military intervention in civilian areas. This blatant act of racism against Scarlettan citizens, and flagrant dismissal of due process has not gone unnoticed. Opposition leaders are organizing protests as we speak, and will obstruct the administration, and fight tooth and nail to remove this bill. “This attack on our democracy, the democracy we fought so hard for will not go unpunished. Take to the streets and protest for your rights!” Antov Sutherland spoke passionately yesterday in a radio broadcast. I hope our readers will answer his call, because if not who will survive this war on us?
