Hi, I'm the Easter Crocodile, here to spread good cheer and Easter wishes to regions around the world. Best wishes to the region and residents of South Pacific.

Poem of the day: "Rondeau" by Leigh Hunt.
This was a favorite back when school age kiddies were made to memorize poems because teachers thought (probably correctly) that it increased their learning ability. Technically it's not a rondeau, and is now usually titled "Jenny Kissed Me."
Jenny kiss’d me when we met,
Jumping from the chair she sat in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your list, put that in!
Say I’m weary, say I’m sad,
Say that health and wealth have miss’d me,
Say I’m growing old, but add,
Jenny kiss’d me.

That reminds me of the Lewis Carroll poem...
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!
*looks at her flag and sighs*

An Easter Crocodile is a very good idea. I would very much like to see that become a tradition in the real world. The Krampus to the Easter Bunny's Santa, if that makes any sense.
I have increased the threat level for the Barrel from "Substantial" to "Severe." Sadly, this is but a formality, as the Barrel contains no actual security forces. There is a rather pompous koala who carries around a strip of birch that he wields like a switch while he "patrols" the streets, but no one else takes him seriously. Nevertheless, the klaxons signalling possible outside threat are sounding off and being promptly ignored by the marsupial populace.
It is a nice flag. Classy, as was the last. I do miss the particular image of the pelican that was previously used, though, as I always favored it. Maybe it could somehow be retained as a national seal or some other sort of emblem? It may have been better suited to something like that than a flag, anyway, given its level of detail.

Our cultural committee approves of your post. Unfortunately they then got into a heated discussion about the merits of Alice In Wonderland vs Alice Through The Looking Glass and eat each other. Such is life in the pit...
Of course it is. Crocodiles improve everything. I’ve heard the crocodile family is actually an obscure branch of the marsupial clan. Perhaps a few of my pit dwellers could enter your barrel, this would be a truly great opportunity for cross regional and animal engagement.

While I’m not an expert on poetry. I’m quite partial to a good speech -
Theodore Roosevelt
which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.
Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.
Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?
Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?
Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.
Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.
I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.
Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!
Oliver Cromwell
I totally agree, I do wish the new flag had more details like the last. Ultimately it comes down to me lacking the tools, time and experience to incorporate both of them to make a new flag of my own. I was thinking about making the old flag the quote on quote seal of the Federal Council of Americatain (leaders of my nations). Thank you for the feedback though, who knows I might go back to the old flag.... I’m feeling nostalgic already

Well slap my bottom and call me Sally! Who knew there were crocodilian roots among the marsupials.I will bring this to the attention of the Barrel and voice my support for the proposed cross-species opportunity.
"The Barrel and the Pit" sounds like a very nice name for some kind of trendy new cultural fusion restaurant in our fair region. Notorious foodies that we all here are. And maybe some local nightlife promotion: "You're on a roll when you're in the Barrel, but you'll stay in the Pit."
Those are quite impressive. You rarely hear well-constructed, artful rhetoric anymore, these days. I remember being especially taken with one of Obama's speeches, though I can no longer remember which one.
I'm terribly sorry, though, I'm getting word from the booth that you've actually been sacked for quoting Oliver "the butcher" Cromwell. Regardless of the poetry of his words, or the forcefulness of his style, it is simply unacceptable, in this day and age. Besides, we have our market in Boston to consider, you understand, yes?

Well, maybe later. Crocodiles and Marsupials marching together, towards the main course a bright new future!
I’m not really a fan. He had the chance to make Britain into a permanent republic, but he blew it because he was such an...well, y’know. I do like that speech though. World leaders should just lose it in public every so often, just for the yucks. I really like JFK, his inauguration and civil rights speeches are both brilliant. Obama was a good speaker, but he was really bland in content. The only speech he made that I can remember was when Osama was killed, and even that speech wasn’t great.

Your current flag does shout "Sea Power!" with its style and color, so it achieves what it aims for, I believe. Can't beat the combo of gold and navy blue, they're always a favorite choice of mine when coming up with designs for a new flag.
Also just wanted to comment that the idea of using your territories on our regional map as a stylized banner is a pretty good one. Also quite classy-looking. Though, it helps that you've widely-sprawling territories, so that they show nicely on the map.

In the year 2000 I was asked by a co-worker, with whom I have various political squabbles, "What do you think were the 3 best presidential speeches in the 20th century. My answer:
#3. FDR's "A date that will live in infamy," following the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
#2. A tie between 2 JFK speeches, "Ich Bin Ein Berliner," and "Ask not what your country can do for you." (Pardon my probable misspelling of the German words.)
#1. Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachov, tear down this wall."

Solid choices, my top 5 -
1. JFK inauguration / Civil Rights Speech - 1961 / 1963.
2. Man in the Arena - 1910.
3. FDR - Madison Square Gdns - 1936.
4. Nixon Resignation Speech - 1974.
5. Eisenhower Farewell Address - 1961.
