Hello fellow members. As you can see I am nothing but a puppet, but I am very interested in the support of the region and the retakeover of Atheist Empire.

I feel as though we won't ever beat the 100+ endorsements that TBR have accumulated. I think the best options would be to either a) make this region as great as the other one was or b) wait for them to get bored and leave the region.

I don't think we will either, but if we can provide a home for refugees from the region than we can help out with a future liberation. The more we can get to leave, the better.

True. Hopefully all of this gets resolved sooner rather than later. I'd hate for this to be drawn out as long as I'm currently thinking

Hey guys(Assuming most of you are),
When we elect a new WA delegate, it cannot be Felandos. Although he has a great experience being delegate, he could have prevented this. A couple months ago I warned him of my distrust of Cemetery Sentinels and our talks about TBR. He believed that nothing was wrong and proceeded to do nothing. Look at where are now.

I have been looking at the RMB of the old region and it looks like they are going to stay awhile cuz we're "rebellious" like they did with others.

I thought Cemetery Sentinels was a little suspicious too. Too chatty for the old region. And I wouldn't be surprised by that, although now most of the rebellious have either been banjected or left. It's probably gonna be low-key there as far as rebellion goes

The least we can do is be aggressive with our actions, actively harass the opposition. Make puppets, join the region, and spread unrest. When we are banjected just leave the nation to CTE. Then repeat. Eventually, the delegate will lose so much influence that we will not be able to be banjected. Plus if we can create unrest, we can TG the natives and convince them to come back here, and eventually have enough WA members to take back the region.

How about we do as they did to us, gain their trust and take down their region. We can play dirty if we want

The thing that bugs me the most is that I haven't heard a single word from Felandos, I sent him a couple TG when this all first started.

I have a puppet in there, I can try to slowly gain the trust of the leader. Unfortunately, I don't think it will work. They don't know me, and why would they let me be the backup delegate? I'd have to get almost as many endorsements. Actually now that I think about it... I could join and TG the WAD and ask him if it is okay if I can "trick" all of the natives into endorsing me and get a lot of the endorsements from the raiders so I can be a "supporter" of the natives. They won't take away their endorsements and then I also have the endorsements of the raiders. One day... Just have like 30-40 WA members to join and endorse me and then we will win.

And now that I think about it, lose the endorsement request for the original AE.

As War Weary and your region have agreed to construct embassies, this is to let you know that we wish you well in your newly-foundeded region.

I've received a TG here is what it says "Dear Beazlend,
My region was friends/had embassies with Atheist Empire before the Black Riders came. I am the WA Delegate of Philosophical Volition and want to provide as much as possible a home for refugees. I am trying to password protect ,but my influence is not enough for that change. The Black Riders will not notice the move and we will probably be ok. Please tell other members in your region what I have proclaimed.
I am sorry for you and the other refugees,
The Fredonian Government
P.S. I will try my best to liberate your old region. I have friends from the Pacific that might help."

Just to let everyone know, once we have someone with enough endorsements, I will change the WA position from from non-executive to executive; I just didn't want Te Bum Raiders to come in and start fuxxing things up before we got the ball rolling.

Once we have an active WA delegate, I will take a back seat in the running of the region, stepping in only when necessary (i.e. raids etc). Beyond that, I hope to maintain a hands-off approach (mainly because I have my own region, My Pants, to look after!)

Hey again folks, glad to be back from exile. Kept an eye on the old region's feed to see if I could move back, and then saw this region forming.

The Black Muppets got me in the first hours of their little egotrip - my sarcasm about the situation wasn't quite appreciated, apparently. Are we considering this a temporary refuge or a new permanent home? I may be still fairly new to the game, but I'd rather not abandon a region that has stood so many years :/

Thank you Pasta Pharia for building up the new region. eventually this is the best decision... *dashing away tear for *

Where are my manners, I completely forgot. Yes, thank you The Holy Empire of Pasta Pharia for this new region. And I'm curious as to what the plan is as well. I don't think we'll know TBR's true intentions until they construct their embassy and destroy all others.. It's tough to call

Hopefully The Briggs will return and reclaim Atheist Empire but without his presence, I fear it will not be possible. TBR is made up of people who want to play NS as a game - so attempts to retake the region will simply fuel them to try harder, to bring more people in; ultimately we'd be providing them with more fun and reinforce their resolve to keep the region. The way I see it, we have four options:

1) - Do nothing, and hope The Briggs comes back and then kicks out all the raiders. This is the ideal situation, but with him going inactive now, can we be sure all of this won't happen again a few months down the line?

2) - Do nothing, live with the raiders and hope they get bored and leave. It's possible, but it leaves the region open to continuous re-raiding (getting more endorsements will just encourage them, as it's akin to turning up the difficulty setting on a game from Very Easy to just Easy).

3) - Chill here and wait for the situation to resolve itself. The TBR raiders will get bored eventually, especially if all the original residents have left. This however, has the same drawbacks as point 2.

4) - Permanently relocate to here. We lose the history of the old region, but everything else we can take with us - the people, the embassies (the first thing I did here was make embassy requests to all regions that had an embassy in the Atheist Empire, so nothing would be lost, regardless of the outcome). I'm personally in favor of this option, but that's because as an English teacher, the lack of a proper article in the name (e.g. "The" or "An") always irked me.

Anyways, it's up to all of you - as you can see, I actually had this nation in My Pants, but never actually had a nation in Atheist Empire (which explains my offer to be a hands-off founder), so whatever happens, I'll support the majority decision.

I think Option 4 is best. we still have my puppet Superior Intelligence in Philosophy115

Option 5: Gain the support of regions, defender or not. Then when we have enough WA members we can join and endorse the point man. Pretty much re-raid the region.

I believe this would simply inspire them to gather more people and re-raid, with each escalation just encouraging them and increasing their interest. Of course, you in turn could gather more people, then they could gather more etc etc. So, in theory you could choose Atheist Empire to be the final battleground between The Black Riders and the rest of Nationstates, but is the rest of Nationstates really ready to stand up and fight?

TBR are attempting to create a game within a game, but the tools they have to work with are limited so their tactics are simple (and the way to beat them is simple). Their can either do a lightning raid on a region then leave (the RL equivalent of ringing someone's doorbell and then running away), or occupy a region permanently (which is what seems to be the case for Atheist Empire). By trying to use their tactics against them, you're giving them third option; a real opponent to fight against, hence doubling the appeal of this game they've invented (and the appeal of the tactics they've been using).

The way to beat them is to make their game so boring that they don't want to play it any more. To do this you don't give them a third option (battle with the locals), but take away their second; by abandoning all founder-less regions in favour of one's with an active founder, you take away the option of a permanent occupancy and restrict them to lightning raids that do no long term damage. This will get tiresome and they'll eventually give up for something more interesting.

Also remember that currently Atheist Empire is the largest player created yet founderless region in the game. It's essentially the Holy Grail for the Black Riders, and they're not about to give it up without a fight. Devalue it by enough migration that it's no longer the largest, and you might stand a better chance.
