Logging and Forestry Industry improves!
The logging industry within the South East Asian regions have begun to rise as a part of its export products to improve its overall economy, however the serious potential of deforestation and illegal logging have been hampering economic development. As a result, government restrictions, security measures, and mass regulations were imposed by the Central Government and many of its Administrations to decrease illegal activity and provide a highly sustainable production of essential trees in specific areas within the regions. With strict regulations from the Central Government, it will balance the overall production of such high quality logs and the environment, it is highly encouraged for logging companies to replant the same amount of trees logged or more after cutting them, which would further decrease deforestation rates. Trees originating on higher elevations will be left untouched and trees on flatter grounds along with other factors will be guaranteed as a spot for certain tree plantations. Safety equipment, safety policies for both workers and environment were also given to legit logging companies as subsidies to further improve the industry. Other illegitimate logging companies will not be severely punished, but instead be given a lucrative opportunity to acquire a license to operate and officially legitimize their own company. The Central Government plans to extend the program to give illegal logging companies the opportunity for 5 more RP months.

The fall of Bursa and Eskisehir
For much of the month, the City of Bursa had been under siege and under bombardment from the air and from SPA and artillery units, day and night for four nights the City surrendered as did the garrison. Further west in Eskieshir after the first day the city surrendered not wanting harm to come to the civilians who had yet to be evacuated. These two cities now under PRO control the end goal was in sight Ankara was a goal now within reach. The troops who took Eskisehir quickly established a FOB within the city while outer units moved in and secured the POW's in one of the hotels in Bursa and Eskiehir compensating the owners.
Once the FOB has established the 3rd and 4th armies headed west toward Ankara. The 5th army meanwhile acted as rearguard freeing up elements of the 3rd and 4th to join back up and so they could throw everything they had at them.
The Battle of Ankara
The 3rd and 4th armies moved toward the nation's capital however intel showed that the Leaders had been evacuated to the city of Kayseri and a new capital had been established. In the skies, the PROAF was keeping the skies clear and making ground attacks against Turkish logistics. The 3rd army engaged in a minor skirmish against the remnants of the Aegean army near Polatil. Meanwhile, the 4th Army approached the city from the north engaging what forces lay there moving into the mountains and landing artillery by helicopter onto the surrounding hilltops and mountains. On the roads in Tanks and AFV's moved up with the bulk of the force. While from the West the 3rd Army made its approach. Entering Sincan, at first, there was no resistance in the outer city that was greater Ankara, however as they got closer to Ankara proper Manpad's hit attack helicopters patroling overhead and then all hell broke loose as the 3rd army fell into the trap. The 4th meanwhile was doing fine until it reached Anadolu Blvd.
The PRO infantry quickly ducked into cover while shoulder launcher fire came down as did bullets and grenades, many of them were pinned down and requested assistance from the 4th who was bogged down in fighting on the Blvd and in other sections of the city. Within the hour the 3rd army though suffering heavy casualties moved up as T-84's and T-80's joined the fray and pushed forward toward the center of the city. The 4th army encountered the Turk's new tanks and was having some difficulty disabling them but eventually boxed them in and pulled their crews from their tanks. By the end of the day, the Capital had fallen to the PRO and POWs were put under guard. Captured equipment was consolidated and put into a makeshift depot to be analyzed by PRO military experts.
For now, the PRO's campaign was finished and troops were dialed down however 60,000 troops from the 5th army would remain behind while the 3rd and 4th withdrew to the PRO proper as did some air assets including the 10 G-10's. Upon their return, the 3rd army was replenished and prepared for redeployment to the State of Hungary to aid the 1st army in border operations.

Aerospace development.
A renewed interest from the Central and Regional governments of the United Monatian Asian Federation has sparked massive initiatives for many aerospace companies in the industry to start developing better and more advanced aircrafts. A proposed spending was issued to address the UMAF's lack of a better of aerospace industry and technologies, though the bioengineering will not be affected so much by the changes, as most of its industries are privately owned. Most private companies will be given subsidies and incentives to start off their company as fast as they could to match existing international companies. Two of the top leading aerospace companies, Aerow and ATMES, have already started in the aerospace initiative, creating variants of the existing ATMES-3000 bomber into other support roles. Newer aircraft for anti-submarine and anti-ship roles are also currently being developed. However, their most ambitious project is their next generation air-superiority jet fighter, which approximates to billions of dollars. The MAF or Monatian Air Force have placed orders for 20 more ATMES-3000 bombers to be placed into service within the next month or two.
More companies have joined the fray of developing better and advanced avionics for aerospace. Such will partake in the Initiative development of advanced aircraft and space technologies. The main focus of the Federation has now changed, introducing aerospace alongside with their achievements towards biotechnology, medical technologies, and information technologies.

"What a bunch of idiots" murmured the Speaker of the Senate, Chloe Sharp, to an aide, shortly before starting a scheduled press conference. The Senate had just refused to pass a budgetary bill - for the third time. Sharp stood at a podium, with the seal of the Mathornian Senate in the background, in the Senate press office. She began to speak into the microphone, politely, but clearly annoyed;
"So, just minutes ago, the Senate rejected the new budgetary proposal by 52 votes, to 48 votes. As a liberal, and as a senator, I am extremely disappointed by this development. We recognised that after the Senate rejected the Houses' previous two budget bills, that serious negotiations were necessary in order to fund vitally important programs - and pay many government workers, especially in the NHS. Unfortunately, the 15th November deadline is fast approaching."
She paused for dramatic effect, and sipped out of a glass of water, before continuing;
"The blame for this failure lies in the Conservative Senatorial leadership - for not agreeing to pass this budget after agreeing on the main points of the bill in negotiations! We will now re-open negotiations in order to fund the government for another two years, and hopefully we will reach an agreement that commands the support of Congress. If not, we will seek to pass a continuing resolution to keep the government open".
She then walks off, the gathered press shouts and hurls questions, such as "Are you confident about the upcoming elections?" and "Are you afraid of the Conservatize polling lead?", to no avail as she walks off through the series of double doors, to exit the room.
Politics seems more divided than ever. The government has not been funded for three years properly, instead, 30 continuing resolutions have funded the government for this period - and public services, such as the NHS, Mental Health Services, road construction, and some welfare and social programs, including education, have been neglected and are in serious need of a cash boost - However many Conservatives and those on the right of the political spectrum are refusing to allow the increase in taxes that are needed to pass through Congress, and are instead demanding the government slashes key programs, such as international aid, and the amount of money the government hands to the World Assembly. Only time will tell to see if this political crisis can be resolved.

Creation of the Aerow Missile Defense program.
Recent militaristic events, such as the creation of the first Nuclear Missile outfitted with hydrogen bomb warhead, has prompted the Central Government and Military Committee to develop ways to counter such a massive threat. The program will be lead by UMAF's leading company in the defense industry, the Aerow Defense and Aeronautics, alongside with the MSC Aviations and many more. The program seeks to create new and more advanced missile technologies for both offensive and defensive, against other missiles, the Aerow missile defense program is currently focusing its development on air defense missiles against aircraft and missiles, for each category in the short, medium, and long range. The cost of the program sits at around 400 billion dollars, and will further given more funding to develop new technologies in the future, if needed. Meanwhile, the Federation's QSAMs, or Quick Surface to Air Missiles which boasts a short range, will be significantly improved for the sake of cheaper methods and efficiency. The joint ABM project, as well, is being overlooked by the Aerow Missile Defense Program, to develop similar technologies and improve it for maintaining a safe line of defense against the dangers of nuclear armed ICBMs. Projects considered by said program is shrouded in utmost secrecy and will be maintained with greater security both in physical and cyberspace, to keep the curtains closed from prying eyes.
ABM Guidance Systems.
After years of extensive development and progress, joint info and defense tech companies have finally completed their designs for a more modern guidance systems in use for the ABMs, led by the Republic of Swanovia. The joint ABM development project and its goal is to project a capable defense system against the dangerous Nuclear-armed ICBMs imposed by the extinct Soviet Union. The successful testing of the rocket/transport vehicle by the Swanovian Republic, UMAF’s information and defense industries have quickly and carefully developed a two methods in one system guidance system to effectively counter the launched ICBMs. Through a series of complex computerized programs and coding, utilized in both the ABM Guidance Systems for Indium-antimonide imaging infra-red and compact medium-long range radar detection system as a backup guidance system that can be used simultaneously at once. Ashja Defense Industry collaborating with Daganji Defense, using extensive research as to which phase the ABMs will strike the ICBMs, Retransmission homing, also called Track Via Missile or TVM, is a hybrid between command guidance, semi-active radar homing and active radar homing. The missile picks up radiation broadcast by the tracking radar, which bounces off the target and relays it to the tracking station, which relays commands back to the missile.
The guidance computer and the missile tracker are located in the missile. The lack of target tracking in GOLIS necessarily implies Navigational Guidance.
Navigational guidance is any type of guidance executed by a system without a target tracker. The other two units are on board the missile. These systems are also known as self-contained guidance systems; however, they are not always entirely autonomous due to the missile trackers used. Intercept location relative to the atmosphere
Missile defense can take place either inside (endoatmospheric) or outside (exoatmospheric) the Earth's atmosphere. The trajectory of most ballistic missiles takes them inside and outside the Earth's atmosphere, and they can be intercepted in either place. There are advantages and disadvantages to either intercept technique.
As of right now, the Union of Arab States, also included in the Joint ABM Development Project, will provide the necessary resources towards an extremely capable radar systems that would guide the ABMs towards its target. With the completion of the dubbed ABM GS Mdl21431 J547D, the military committee informs the Republic of Swanovia of said completion and immediately be shipped to Perth to be assembled and extensively tested once more.

Votes, votes, votes and more votes... all have been rejected by Congress. The House may agree on one bill, but the Senate won't agree on the same bill. Mathorn's government all but paralysed. One thing to note is of importance is that while the President has been quiet publicly on the fiscal paralysis, in private he is - as is everyone else - pushing for a long-term budgetary deal.
This looks far off at this point in time - yesterday's vote in the Senate was the third such rejection of a meaningful spending bill. However, out of the public eye, the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party and the Labour Party - all parties with opposing ideologies have been meeting to create something along the lines of a "unitary budget" - a budget that is almost neigh on guaranteed to pass through Congress. As of yesterday, these meetings have been highly secretive, however one source texted this writer last night that a breakthrough could be imminent - or in other words an announcement could be due this week.
I wouldn't get your hopes up though, all three main parties have their differences - the Tories (Conservative Party) want to implement massive cuts to the government's expenditure, they want to free all Welfare Payments and freeze the NHS budget for three full years - saving an estimated M$2.5 Trillion. On the flip side, the Labour Party want to implement cuts to the military - especially regarding the nuclear deterrent, which they want to scrap, while the Liberal Party wants to implement the President's manifesto pledge to fill the mental health budgetary gap - an estimated M$1 Trillion, all while cutting back on education and the police force to fund this.
The average Mathornian pays approximately 50% in Tax - a huge burden for anyone, rich or poor. The National party and Republican Party want to halve this, and in return they want to cut government spending in half - equally and fairly across the board - both the Republican and National Parties command around 20% of the seats in each house so are way off the numbers needed to pass a budget bill - before you even consider how unlikely it is that the President will approve such a bill.
Campaigning for next month's presidential and congressional elections are already entering the final stages, and the numbers in Congress will soon change. Will Congress approve a deal before then? Some critics, especially on the right, argue that this Congress's time to pass a budget is over, and it will fall to the next Congress to pass the next budget. However, only time will tell if this is correct.

The People’s Republic of Ozerstine and the United Monatian Asian Federation met up in Tokyo to sign a secret joint project to build a new frigate design for the Ozerstine Navy, in turn the UMAF and the United Monatian Navy, will receive 2 of the 7 planned frigate ships to be built in its general purpose role. The Heavy Ship Development Industries and the United Monatian Navy will also be guaranteed access to the design of the ship, as well as a license to build the particular model of the ship, dubbed as the TF-2000. Information about the details and specifications of the ship is highly classified and will be closely guarded from prying eyes. Engineers and many more workers will be sent to the People’s Republic of Ozerstine, with great payment and hospitality from the PRO Government, to help in their project to finish the TF2000 Frigate.
United Monatian Navy, has also made an announcement regarding the improvement of their navy and many modern revisions to protect the Federation’s sovereign waters and her interests. With the approval of the new UMS Satsujin-sha ASW Light Helicopter Carrier and the UMS Hwansang Attack Submarine, the Japanese-Monat NSDD Dry Dockyards will soon be initiating their development of two Satsujin-sha class and two Hwansang class for the next year and 3 months. Navy exercises will also be conducted within territorial waters of the Federation, for better training and readiness for future conflicts to come. After the approval of the TF2000 is finalized and completed, the Navy will be building their own modified versions of the ship for general-purpose and perhaps in the ASW role. Missiles for ships to use are also currently being developed to further bolster the firepower for Guided Missile Destroyers, Guided Missile Cruisers, Anti-Air Frigates, and many more. Military spending will increase in a few months and will be expected to recede in the next year or so.

China Railway News
March, 2021 saw the retirement of the last QJ2D steam locomotives, with QJ2D's 7054 and 7207 performing the final revenue run of the class on the Jingpeng Pass. As such, the entire fleet of QJ's, QJ2's, and QJ2D's have been struck from China Railways roster and are being prepared for scrapping and donation. Several will be donated to foreign countries that are close allies with China, while others will be placed on display throughout China. The QJ's were the last class of steam locomotives to be built in the world, and were originally meant to be retired in the 1990's. However, an economic boom in China forced China Railways to keep the locomotives in service as late as 2008. It was originally thought that this would be the end of the last class of steam locomotives, however another economic boom in 2020 forced China Railways to reactivate the locomotives for service. However, with newer diesel electrics and newer turbine locomotives coming into service - the age of the steam locomotive has finally come to an end.
Current president Zhou Jingyi was in fact, a factory worker at the Datong Locomotive Works that built and maintained the QJ's. He oversaw the completion of the final QJ, QJ #7207 in 1988 and was at the Farewell to Steam ceremony at Jining, China.

The Treaty of Minsk
For several months Belarus had been isolated on all sides by the resurgence of the Prussians and the noose of the PRO slowly closing around them. Rather than fight its fellow Slavic brethren the PRO has extended the olive branch to the Belarusians stating that in the interest of Panslavism it would be wrong for the former brothers in arms to fight each other and that they would be much stronger together and followed that up with examples of how strong the PRO was as a unified people. The Belarussians countered with why Slovenia and Croatia remained in other's hands.
The PRO assured the Belarusian leader that the situation was well in hand and that if they joined the cause of Panslavism then. They would share the glory together in making a true solid Panslavic Union that would result should Belarus join the PRO. For over a month the two nations were locked in debates of the pros and cons of joining the PRO. In the end, however, Belarus's leadership catered to the demands of the PRO once realizing that the pros outweighed the cons of joining the People's Republic of Ozerstine. At the end of this month, the treaty which would be called the Treaty of Minsk officially annexed Belarus into the PRO.
Military experts were brought into the nation to assess and get a bead on the Arsenal capabilities of the nation and if any work would need to be done to assist in the standardizing of their armies. Another step would be to swear the Belarusian armed forces into that of the PRO. It was a great day for the Republic they had accomplished what few would have thought possible and united a large portion of Slavs under one flag. Such might had not been seen since the Cold War. For now, at least things were looking up for the PRO.
