Checratia wrote:The Fallen Republic and The Cultural Powerhouse
While enjoying a hearty lunch, the executive council was approached by one of the council's advisors. There, he broke the news that the Republic of Trev had fallen. Surprised by this, the council members sprung out of their seats and rushed back to the White House. As they ran through the marble halls, advisors trailed behind them in the rush to the chambers.

3 members of the council sat at Dulles International, sipping their coffees as they waited for their flight to McCarran International in Las Vegas. Out of nowhere, a voice came over the speakers saying, "1 pm flight to McCarran International is now boarding." Hearing this, the members stood up and briskly walked to the boarding area. They stored their luggage in the compartments and sat in their comfortable, first-class seats as a trolley of wine approached them.

5 Hours Later
The council members looked out upon the Vegas strip as the plane descended onto the tarmac of McCarran International. They took out their luggage as one member, Stephen Crenshaw, left the other two as he walked toward the boarding platform of the private jet in waiting. He waved to the others as they walked out into the city. Crenshaw wheeled his luggage onboard as he prepared for his flight to Los Angeles.

Crenshaw awoke as the plane sharply turned and sat up in his seat. He opened the blinds to see the US Bank Tower towering above Los Angeles. A minute later, he felt the plane touch the tarmac as he sat up to get his luggage. He walked from the plane to the street and hailed a cab for the city hall. On his way, he looked out to see something very unusual to him. Small businesses and art lined the streets, dominated by corporations in other cities. He drove by people biking around the city and others painting beautiful, flowing murals, brightening up the already colorful city.

As the cab turned the corner, Crenshaw's eyes came upon the city hall, a towering, ornate building lined with lush gardens. He stepped out of the cab and walked toward the large wooden doors at the front. Inside, the mayor was waiting for him and led him to his office. There, the mayor offered Southern California to Vandalia and in return, Vandalia would build the world's tallest building in downtown Los Angeles. Crenshaw accepted immediately and shook the mayor's hand confidently.

Asauroaust and Persia

Throughout history, the Asauro people and the Persian people have been enemies, despite being quite similar races, in the past when Persia held great control over the Asauroaust Kingdom, and when the kingdom of Asaurouast was but a tiny dot on the map, the Persian's would enslave the Asauro people, and puppet the Kingdom.

However, the largest war of the Kingdom's history and the most defining of their history would break out, the Asauroaust Kingdom would prepare a large, uncontrollable revolt in Khuzestan, gaining them all the territory of Khuzestan as the Persian army would be forced into a retreat, and the Asauro people would request their peace treaty to be signed. This peace treaty contains content requesting the end of puppetization and that as many ethnically Asauro people in Persia are to move to back to the Kingdom.

Throughout centuries, these two would clash, Asauroaust would grow in size as the Persians would decrease in side, the final hit being the battle of Sistan and Baluchestan of 1852, a war that would result in the Persians being completely locked away from the ocean, crushing their economy and trade, and making Asauroaust the greater power of the Persian land.

Disputes Between The Nations!

Currently, in the modern day, the nations would have a dispute over borders, as Asauroaust claims Persia holds onto land that is largely Asauro populated and belongs to the kingdom, which would be the three provinces above the West Asauro Province. However, Persia threatened this claim with total war between the two nations, promising the Asauroaust Kingdom a bloody war with the goal of collapsing the kingdom if they dare try and take more territory from Persia.

"If you so desire. Let's have at it then."

These are the short, but loud words that would be sent over to Persia, followed up with an invasion, the infantry troops would be unleashed onto the fields to go to battle with Persia, charging into the battlefield like bulls to a Spanish man with a red cape. The attacks were planned to be aimed at more arable and farmable land, as Asauroaust suffers with agriculture, having very little arable land, but the biggest focus is Tehran, the biggest city in Persia, and likely the hardest part of the attack.

Siege of Tehran

As the army would approach Tehran, they would notice a giant group of Persian soldiers, fully prepared to defend the town. What would follow was a bloody war, casulties were heavy, but, by the stark and cold night, the Persian army surrendered, and wished to enter peace with the Asauroaust Kingdom as long as they did not push further, which would make the conquered lands officially Asauroaust territory. The soldiers would be celebatory all night.

Following this large scale attack, the Persian Empire would start to show cracks of a falling empire, as the economy crumbled and the nation started to decline in population, the empire would not be able to sustain itself very long.

A group of pirates have been interrupting your shipping routes.

Whatever festivities the Brazilians prepared for the arrival of El Haluf quickly was quickly halted, as two days passed by, the reinforcements that are being sent from the Rio de la Platan Protectorate have been ambushed by a group of marauding pirates, led by a flag ship of a size of that of a heavy cruiser. Fortunately, the transport ships of El Haluf are more than capable of defending themselves when grouped together, but losses have still been recorded. Out of the 15 Transport ships, two were sunk, loosing around 2,759 out of the 15000 supposed to be reinforcements and and a significant amount of supplies, material, food, and other precious cargo.

Commander Dante was furious (he did not share the same temperament that his calm father had), partly because he learned that the transport ships were not escorted by any capable warships and High Command allowed this mishap to occur, but mostly because of the existence of this pirate group raiding unknown locations everywhere. Surely, they would strike soon, and God knows where. Sure enough, shortly after that thought, a new telegram arrived: a distress signal was beamed from another cargo ship before it was cut off. The captain let out one final word before his radio too was cut.

cannons from thre--- Flooded and listing to--- tell them I---

And then there was silence.

Dante has no other option; he is forced to use his warships to conduct patrols and escort cargo ships. Several measures have been used in order to maximize safety for his shipping lanes: cargo ships can carry mines, are informed to lie and hoist a fake flag of another nation, is tasked to meet with a patrol group in a specified coordinates where they will be escorted, and be retrofitted with more life boats and life vests should the situation demand that they are to be used. The crew hope that it doesn't. Dante also sent coded messages in Samarkand, relaying for the Oficina Intelegencia, now rebranded as the Special Action Agency, or ASA. He requested that spies and saboteurs be sent all over Brazil in order to gain insight on what these pirate group might be.

Five days later

While the plans above meant that losses from pirates have been reduced, skirmishes still occur, and thousands of tons of cargo are left damaged and ships sunk. The attacks are relentless, but are by no means a threat to the logistics of El Haluf's Army; after all, they are being supported by Brazil, now established as the Brazilian Protectorate. ASA is still yet to determine or get any leads, but a clue has been gathered. Observers from Halufian sailors and information from tortured Spanish troops identified that 13 Spanish warships managed to escape during the Battle of Fortaleza. While this information is startling it is by no means definitive. Spain is under orders to return to their homeland. Regardless, whether this is a Spanish fleet acting out of or under orders, or a Brazilian seperatist, Dante is adamant in putting a stop of these whole operations once and for all.

Tales of the Alpine War
Gefreiter Alfred Horris

It was only two days into our advance that we had managed to trap several regiments and battalions of Austro-Hungarian troops in several confines within the Alps. It was of no use for us to try and flush them out - they were too entrenched to do so. Any terms of surrender were off the table - they hadn’t accepted any prior to this. They believed an Austrian counter attack was well on its way. They couldn’t be more wrong. With tha Vandalians to the west and us, the ‘Kaiser’s Fist’ bearing down upon them they stood no chance.

Against Panzergrenadiers they wouldn’t stand, they’d be kneeling for God’s mercy upon us. If they wouldn’t surrender for us, we’d make them die for us. There was no point in negotiating beyond this - if anything our mere existence is a warning to their brethren. Fail to heed it, and your life shalt have been nothing but a fraud. Us small group of Panzergrenadiers were assigned to destroy a massive encirclement of Austrian troops, maybe two thousand or so. We, in comparison only had what, 600 troops? The numbers were appalling in comparison - what mad man would send his troops into such a overpowering force?

Our general, would. But he was smarter than most. He embraced the likes of airpower and the tank, and constantly dwelled in new ideas of committing mass decimation upon the enemy. For, today was just another of these tactics. Over the entire night, planes dropped fuel across the Austrian positions - not in barrels. They poured them over the entirety of the enemy line. It appeared they didn’t notice, many thought it was just another gas attack probably - forward observers noted that in the morning all of the Austrian troops wore them.

We wouldn’t charge enemy - not in standard fashion of course. It would’ve been suicide, not that it mattered. Most of what we did would’ve been suicide regardless. However, our unit had been equipped with twice, maybe three times as many flammenwerfers as a standard panzergrenadier unit. Our orders were to not just destroy the pocket, but light it up too. Burn their ashes to heaven, and completely destroy every single Austro-Hungarian soldier in this pocket. This tied in with the extra need for more flamethrowers.

We crawled our way to the enemy positions under the cover of fog. We made it sure that we were as quiet as possible - to not wake up or alarm the enemy. Conveniently, our path to the enemy position was up a hill. Although tough to get up, it provided us enough cover so that at a glance, we’d be under their noses when we begun the attack. It went perfectly, not a single Austrian had noticed us by the time we reached the top of the hill. Several moments passed as we readied our weapons, put on our masks and equipped our bayonets. Soldiers checked the wind and as it had been forcasted - the spring storms were blowing southward. With a few hand gestures from our squad leaders, the attack begun.

Flamethrowers lit up across the mountain, igniting the fuel that had been dropped the night before. Flames spread across the Austrian line like wildfire, incinerating everything in its path. The screams - the agony of the dying enemy was nothing short of a beautiful symphony that echoed through the mountains. We merely watched as the enemy slowly burned to death. The fires though quickly burned out, leaving nothing but charred bodies and those who managed to barely survived behind. We made our way into the trenches stepping over massive hulks of dead bodies - some with their hands on their necks. Seemingly gasping for air as they choked to death on smoke and fire. Following the result of this attack, the enemy strongholds surrendered without as much as a rock thrown.

We made it known - that the Panzergrenadiers would not be a threat to be understimated.

ALGERIA FALLS AS NATIONALIST SPAIN SEEKS COLONIES IN AFRICA

With another four cases of the virus Spanish health officials tell Franco to keep soldiers ‘over there’, in Africa. The virus originally struck in November last year but now has risen up again as Spanish troops resume their African crusade. The virus is like the flu and most affected feel it like a bad cold. Even though symptoms are rather mild the virus, named: AEV-21 also attacks your immune system leaving you open to attack from other health problems.

AEV-21 cases originally reached 1,000 in November but fell when Spanish troops left the assault to fight back against Canada. The recorded death toll for the virus was 3 but a further 150 soldiers diagnosed with AEV-21 died from other causes when their immune systems were damaged. The original plan was for a vaccine to be formulated. While tests for this continue members of an independent lab are working on using it as a threat. Releasing a strain of the virus at enemy capital cities. While this is off the books Franco still thinks of it as marvellous, but his chief advisor believes it may cause the ISUCN to place an economic shutdown.

While overnight another 15 cases were confirmed Franco got ready to visit the facility researching a vaccine, then travel to the independent lab to check on the chemical weapon being developed there. The vaccine facility informed Franco of a due date 12-16 months away. Angered he continued to the independent lab and was more satisfied with a 6-10 month due date for the weapon. When Franco returned to Madrid he found a letter containing the resignation of his chief advisor, along with a note.

Supreme Chancellor Franco, i apologise for my resignation but i felt it necessary. I worry the ICUSN will strike out at us if we continue with this research. Please consider shutting it down.
~chief advisor, Liteo Beroco…

Franco swore under his breath before turning to his chief of private investigation. “Find him and when you do, bring-him-too-me! Go!” He then burned the letter in his fireplace and settled into a posh leather armchair. He checked his mail and found a letter from his general in charge of the 3rd army: my troops are ready for the next stage of attack. As soon as supply lines are up-and-running I will send them to blitz the south east. ~ general, mitecho. Franco sighed before writing a response.

The new(and at the same time, technically not new) president of Malacca-Singapore, Joshua Tan hears of this news and decides to speak out about it, he read out his speech while in The Astana, "Citizens of Malacca-Singapore, and Earth, I would like to take time to talk about the newly-incumbent Supreme Chancellor of Spain's actions, he has recently conducted biological warfare against its enemies, more accurately, its enemies' citizens, not only is this action inhumane as these citizens are in NO way directly involved in the War Effort against Spain, nor are they a potential threat to Spain as a nation, these women and men, seniors and children are innocent, no government should ever attack the people. Spain is also conducting said biological warfare with a virus which little is known about, this is highly reckless of the Spanish Government as this quote-unquote experiments can cause a surge of cases that can go out of hand extremely quickly, we've seen how using viruses in this way is harmful, a prime example of this is the Memoavirus pandemic, President Halimah Yacob used the memoavirus against the Siamese soldiers, this attack caused an epidemic in Southeast Asia and in other regions of the world which is yet to be contained, now, you must realise that these were only directed at the soldiers, could you imagine the possible chaos that might ensue from attacking capital cities, with hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of people living in?

I would like to end my speech on this note; Malacca-Singapore officially condemns Spain for their inhumane and reckless actions. and mark my words, Chancellor Franco, The ICUSN may not have developed any international law against biological warfare on civilians, but rest assured the next you attempt anything of this calibre, the Security Council will be on your doorstep, investigating your nation you love so dearly. This Joshua Tan of Malacca-Singapore, signing out."

Guerilla Fighter Attack!
Following a sudden attack from a guerilla fighter group as the soldiers retreated from the war, the Asauro army quickly returned to the location of attack, to check if they would once again attack, but the soldiers had their bullets loaded and were ready. The guerilla group members were caught charging in, but were swiftly shot down. Their bodies would be investigated, revealing that the group had ties to the Persian Empire that still persisted. A diplomat sent a message to the Persians, that if they did not cease, further invasions would be launched. They agree, but even then, high military surveillance still remains over the city of Tehran, which would require a lot of military funding, lightly harming the Asauroaust's economy, but it was worth it for the safety of those who live in Tehran.

Serbia invades Balkan Nations!

After the establishment of the Y.R.O.S,Serbia immediately wanted to expand and they decided to go north then south. The Prime Minister,Aleksandar Obrenović,called for an invasion of Bosnia,Croatia and Slovenia before they move on to Albania and Macedonia. They started to invade Bosnia and declared war on Croatia and Slovenia.

Bosnia fell near a few weeks after the Serbian invasion.Croatia had sent troops to Bosnia to help with Serbian advancement from the Montenegran and Serbian borders.Croatia was able to push back the Serba at the Battle of Banja Luka.Serbia did push back even harder though leaving the city in ruins due to fighting.

They then Pushed into Croatia at two different sides one at Split and the other at Osijek. These were the most important battles in the Balkan War as those were the strongest defenses from outside invasions, but Serbia broke through and steam rolled through Croatia and Slovenia surrendered immediately after what happened to Croatia and Bosnia.

Then Serbia went south to conquer Albania and Macedonia.Macedonia took some time to conquer after multiple battles were lost by the Serbs, but after the Battle of Skopje,Macedonia fell. Then Albania tried to hold the line by blockading the Adriatic from Serbia but Serbs and Montenegrans pushed through their defenses and defeated Albania. They all surrendered and at the Treaty of Sarajevo, they all joined Serbia.

Also Serbia invaded parts if Italy for more access to the Adriatic Sea so they could have better trade with nations.

[b]SPAIN RESUPPLIES AND FINISHES OF ALGERIA[b]

On June the 1st 1922 the spanish 3rd army’s supply lines were finally complete. The commander has issued an order stating soldiers have 24 hours before we move out and finish off Algeria. He says many great things have been accomplished and many more will be. Even though AEV-21 still rages and cases have hit the triple digits, once we take Algeria we can overcome this virus and go home!

June 2nd, 1922: the spanish 3rd armies 4th and 5th battalions have made a heavy assault on Algerian lines. Even though the tanks were low on fuel they managed to capture several key outposts and supply dumps. By sundown the Algerians had lost 15 kilometres of their line. They were about to be overrun so called in an airforce that they had been saving. 56 heavy and medium bombers made continuous air-to-ground attacks during the night causing Spain over 400 casualties. Angered the generals called an emergency meeting and ordered their own air force to intercept.

Throughout the next week 40 of the Algerian bombers were shot down by aircraft, 19 by AAA and the last by Russian inspired rifle fire. Franco himself visited the front on the 16th by which time the Algerian army consisted of 500 men holed up in a small border town. He ordered them to be dispatched and then flew back to Madrid.

Upon landing the supreme chancellor went straight to his office where he checked his mail. A letter from the health department got his hopes up of a miracle breakthrough. So Franco was shocked when he read that AEV-21 had spread across the strait of Gibraltar and into spain. He had 17 cases in his homeland of which 2 are related to a hospital outbreak.

The new-german republic

An Algerian immigrant escaped from the horrors of the Spanish invasion of his homelands, fled from his country and sought refuge in the New World. Correctly thinking that the Halufiites would grant incentives to people who would migrate from North Africa to El Haluf, this man boarded a ship to the Fire Island of Curacao and seek refuge in its factories and dormitories as a a cog of the island's gigantic industries, leaving behind everything for the prospect of a fresh start in the New World.

One day, this man aged 27 years old, arrived to his factory, burning with a fever and coughing incessantly. Three hours into his shift, while operating a crane, he collapsed. The crane was lifting 5 tons of supplies at the time of the incident, but fortunately no one got hurt. He was rushed to the hospital, but while being cared for in the Emergency Room, he died as Pneumonia sets in and fluids filled his lungs.

FIRST CASES OF AEV-21 STARTED IN EL HALUF!

It was first speculated that this incident is but another victim of the Memeovirus, which is at this point is becoming more controllable by the day. However, Post-mortem investigations from specialized agents of the Ministry of Public Health indicated that the Memeovirus attacks the neurological pathways of the Nervous System, causing a rapid degradation of the victim's psychological health, leading to symptoms like dementia, hysteria, hallucinations, and eventual death. The deceased, on the other hand, suffered from flu-like symptoms before succumbing to Pneumonia.

Samples collected from the coroner and later sent to the Ministry's Molecular biologist also indicated that a weakening of the deceased's immune system occured, as indicated by an abormally high presence of White Blood Cells in the blood.

After three days of investigation, the conclusion has been formed and the results baffled the scientists: a new virus has arrived to El Haluf! Investigations from the Ministry identified that the virus, officially known as AEV-21, has actually been long present in Spain and its colonies in North Africa. Transmission of the disease is various, as the virus is transferred with fluids and droplets from a host to a victim, and can also travel as an airborne virus.

The information has been lodged as Highly Classified and will not be disseminated to the public, but Quarantine protocols have been set in Curacao, to the frustration if the people as they were forced to lock up once more; being fooled that this is the Memeovirus and not the AEV-21 that is causing this new normal.

El haluf

In other news, El Haluf have these other stories to tell to the world!

GOVERNMENT STEPS BACK AS IT GOES FOR A REFORMATION!

Much power has been granted to a single person, to whoever holds the position of Chairman, as demonstrated by the late Todd Lucero who have used the Grand Dominion Navy to conquer nations far away from the home islands of El Haluf. By the time of his death in Panama, the nation's economy is in tatters, is forced to use its National Strategic Reserves, and the people riled up in a bloodlust of frenzy and rage as massive demonstrations of anger towards the "Royalists, Colonizers, and the White Man" filled the streets of every Protectorate of El Haluf. Samarkand itself is still under repairs after the Plebiscite's Crusade ravaged the once cultured city into a warzone and destroyed the Kastila de Retendor, seat of the Chairmanship.

The House of Nobles in Rashid, as well as emissaries from all Protectorates of El Haluf, gathered in Glostham Palace as it made a declaration, supposedly made by the entire collective, to seize the powers of the Chairman, and have the nation turn into an Oligarchy, led by 240 representatives from all of the Dominion. The House of Nobles, now rebranding itself as La Casa Nobela, first course of action is to move the capital of city from Samarkand, in modern day Havana, to Panama City, which have soon replaced all cities of the nation to become the center of trade and commercial activity, and become the financial center of the world.

[I actually hope that the RP members would try to do something about this kek]

Project: Oasis Gets a Green Light from the La Casa Nobela!

Uruguay joined the Dominion six months ago, and it quickly gained a reputation as an economic center between the transit of South American and African countries of the South Atlantic Ocean. It was named "Jewel of Rio de la Plata", and was rebranded as the Rio de la Platan Protectorate.

Plans were set in motion by the nation's former president and now incumbent viceroy of the Protectorate, Lemuel Valdez. He suggested to the House of Nobles a project in Uruguay that would develop his country into a manufacturing powerhouse, as the many rivers from 6 different nations serves as a highway, delivering raw materials where Uruguay can then sell their products in the domestic stage.

The idea was first suggested to the first House of Nobles, which was seen as ludicrous and a waste of time. But after Lucero's death and the Casa Nobela's rise to power, the government required an economic plan that would take the still confused people to their side. Thus, Project Oasis was approved and the development of Uruguay as an interconnected web of many large cities commenced.

The project would take many years before it fully develops, but the benefits should be worth it, according to figures and estimates. The Project is said that it would massively decrease employment, essential when the veterans of El Haluf's many wars starts coming home. New infrastructure must be constructed, and entire neighborhoods have to be brought down. The government could not contribute much money due to them having to struggle into using the National Strategic Reserves, so they encouraged tax incentives for anyone, from the lowliest indentured worker to the largest megacorporations and Foreign Legions of El Haluf, while also subtly increasing taxes for citizens. Thus, El Haluf actually incentivises citizens to donate for tax exemptions, or risk themselves into paying higher taxes over time. Numerous indentured workers were sent to clear out forests and swamps, and clean the polluted rivers. Meanwhile, plans from the Dominion Guard to capture all the rivers from the different states are being ratified. For Project Oasis to work, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, and parts of Argentina must be captured to the Dominion's cause.
