Maybe you did and I just missed it?

OOC: Also, after ALL day of trying to fix internet issues I've been having these last weeks, I am now up to 216 Mbps! Before this fix, brought to me by a new modem/router combo and 6 hours of frustrarting "WHY WON'T YOU WORK?!" (bad coax)

I was a 17 Mbps, on a good day.

I've been trying to figure out how to continue with Keldron now being a thing, and honestly you've written us all into a corner here. A Chthonian with as much power as he has simply cannot be beaten.

Not by anyone present anyways....not without killing Duncan as well.

... He isn't a Chthonian now though. I believe I made it clear that he is now a Forgotten and not a Chthonian. I know that it takes Gods just to hurt them, but is it truly out of bounds to mess with one more than I have the other divine species I've already bastardised into puppets? Forgotten Archangels don't have their previous powers. So why should Keldron. All of it gone and somewhere else. Now you face the facade of something once proud and terrible forced into servitude and wanting to remember what freedom is like. Using the false godhood that Salem crafted into him to try and fight as he used to. If its still a no then I can rework this to having Vengeance chose a new name for himself instead of this

A chthonian isn't something like an angel. It's a being who has seen into the very heart of evil itself and become a god of evil. These things are way stronger than gods themselves, pantheon levels here. There honestly would be no chance that Salem could even beat one solo, let alone stop him from just adding the forgotten power to its arsenal.

The whole Keldron thing also retcons everything regarding Cross since his forming was a possibility but that can't happen if it was a demon god all along. Don't lessen Duncan's battle with the darkness inside him to just oooh theres a demon inside him. It really weakens everything he's been built up towards.

OOC: Big post in progress. Gotta leave for work now though.

The bolts and cutting lines sliced and blew him apart something severe as Vengeance stumbled forward with the spear still tightly gripped in his hand. "I... I refuse" The mindless beast started to dig deeper, deeper and deeper, deeper and deeper and deeper. Grasping at everything it could get as he gritted his teeth before standing tall, his whole body shaking and struggling to keep upright until his eye focused on Heimrich to see th disdain in his eyes as consciousness started to fade from his body.

This right here is the source of the problem John. Anytime someone throws an attack at one of your characters, especially one of mine it seems, they react like it's the final killing blow and either lose or power up into some form never before seen or something. Heimrich shot some finger beams and suddenly Vengeance is almost dead. He's becoming more and more powerful by the second, and the beams are nothing more than beams, they should have just pissed it off more which is what I expected to happen.

The perfect example of this is Duncan fighting Orsimur. Duncan and Vengeance went through an equally ridiculous array if powerups power downs and power sideways, caused by Orsimur punching him once or twice each time. All he did was punch him, he wasn't that strong. Strong enough to make it hurt, but that was it. The very first strike after a powerup and fully recovering all damage should not (in this case) be completely undone by a basic attack. Unless I explicitly state it does a certain amount of damage you translate it into a KO, which especially in this case it is not.

I know you feel like you had to create some way for Vengeance to keep up, but you really didn't. This is a being that was originally known as a corrupted Fabled Gate, discovered to truly be a measure of sentience placed by Salem in Duncan's sins. He was way cooler as a being who was both Duncan and not him, a being who became Cross in Universe 4. To spoil something I had some plans in how to save Duncan which involved referencing U4, but Keldron ground us to a stand still.

In short, Vengeance doesnt need to discover himself (IMO) because vengeance is who and what he is. That and the fact that he is rapidly catching up to Heimrich already and doesn't need any help with that.

EDIT: I can't help but to add that while I may seem like I'm nitpicking your characters, you did make an incredible character's story behind all the details. A young man, full of hope and optimism with a drive to right the wrongs against his people, who had a thorn of darker hate and vengeance in his heart that began to grow whe his best friend fell to the dark. As he grew and learned that dark piece of his soul grew stronger, controlling him more and more. The civil war cemented the hatred in his heart and he fell fully to his inner darkness for the first time, all for naught as his entire focus for living now was taken from him.

He fell into despair and sank further as his friend slowly pulled himself back, until they were fated to fight to the end one last time, his friend reaching the light as Duncan is forever consumed by his own evil, forcing the man he didn't know he saved to put him down out of mercy and gratitude.

It's such a tragic story and I can't put to type properly how much I absolutely love it. I think you can understand now how I fought against Keldron. Vengeance is so much more compelling when he was originally part of Duncan, I still like the idea of Salem placing a personality to personify Duncan's hidden nature and guide him to be fully consumed by it, especially since this implies that this is the cause of all Lost Templars, being part of Salem's sick experiments. All very cool. Vengeance just being a demon, even if not originally a Chthonian doesn't do Duncan justice.

I can see what you mean about Vengeance, I guess I did go abit too ambitious with everything I wanted this to progress into. I was thinking too much about how I could make this something bizarre and wonderful but from what I'm reading it seems I was already there with what I had in place. I guess I should have asked what people thought more often instead of letting me go off on these tangents too often. I'll go back and change the post now, I do have an idea that might fix this

Wabacha wrote:He watches Heimrich close his eyes for a moment. "It looks like I won't have to get further involved then. I ended it with the Lich." Eyes open and look back to Albus. "Their hearts are clean, Olyses lied to not earn the Lich's anger, everyone knew Gregor and I were close and he would be the lead culprit. This Elder Typhus did his job in quelling a threat in the ranks. I can argue that, but it's not worth killing over." Noticing the question on Albus' face he explains Olyses' lie. "I was the one who forged Wooden Memory, Gregor used the aura gift from the vampire to supply me the metal I needed. If Olyses was there to see it, I likely would have slain him. I don't care whether the truth comes out.

"No one else dies today, but know this. If anyone else, whether search parties or the entire army, comes after Gregor or searching for me, I will not be so kind." Heimrich nods slightly to his elder. "I'm sure you'll be able to convince them after today, when the others come back with Duncan's body. If anything will be left."

-----

While the focus was on his body, Heimrich was not truly anchored to it. His mind is spread throughout the battle zone, analyzing, predicting and counter-predicting every instant of the battlefield. The Enochian method of teleportation is instant, but with Heimrich's elevated state of being, reading the magical currents, watching each spell take hold, watching the teleport anchor draw a line to connect to an anchor forming behind him, all in the same instant as the instant teleport gives his consciousness time to direct his mortal form to move accordingly. With a mix of sideways dodge and forward somersault Heimrich avoids a spear materializing where his chest was a moment before, refacing Vengeance as the creature evolves further into the true ivory monstrosity it is, steadily losing its human features as they are consumed by the Forgotten's uncontrollable rage. He needed to drive himself further into the corner he created for himself by allowing Vengeance to fully transform, he knows his understanding of the Mentat mind is not strong enough for what he plans to use it for later. Vengeance can give him the push he needs.

With disdainful eyes he looks up at Vengeance, showing again his own instant teleport as he Trance Steps back on his feet, out of the reach of Vengeance's next attack as he backhands the air, creating lines of green light that slice into the creature's bone hide before he once again fires neon arrows of light, joining the other arrows that have finally caught up to Vengeance's incredible speed.

Albus was rather... Shaken with hearing all of this, the fact that he could state all of this seemingly out of nowhere... Just how far had this boy come? "I... Suppose it did all end with Elder Lich Bravos..." He couldn't dispute anything Heimrich was saying, because he didn't know if he could at this moment in time... Ever sigh he could see pointed to him having some sort of godly power. Much like his nephew and niece... But something very different. This wasn't strength... It was something more than that.

Albus listened carefully to Heimrich's warning, he didn't like it but he certainly would be able to make sure no one else died going after Heimrich, he was beyond the order... The Elders weren't going to like it but that was the truth about it. Though his eyes slowly widen as Heimrich finished what he was saying. "What... Did you just say...? Heimrich no. The two of you were friends you can't do that to him, he mourned you after he thought he killed you! I-I can't allow you to kill him, not now!" Albus was shaken, he knew that the boy was far beyond anything he could possibly muster, but he was so sure that he had the ability to bring his nephew back from the brink.

The transforming Vengeance was quickly being consumed by the ivory mass that flooded over his body, only stretching further and further as this seemingly bottomless wellspring of hatred lets him dig more and more eagerly into it. Though It started to The colour of his hair started to turn the same ivory white while a second wing joined the other demonic white wing that was now presently on his back. Though the bone band on his face no longer covered his mouth or nose as it all moved to completely cover his left eye, the only remnant left of Duncan that was visible on the body that ascended further down this path of heretical divinity. Though Heimrich dodging out of the way only forced the beast to dig that much deeper to try and kill him.

Though it all still looked like a beastial mass forming over his humanoid form, the beast lost sight of Heimrich as he used his own instant teleport to get back to his feet away from him. Once he reappeared, Vengeance's head swivels unnaturally to see where Heimrich teleported just in time for his body to be bombarded by the bolts he had been evading and now being sliced apart by the green lines that Heimrich had conjured to wound and bleed him. The bolts and cutting lines sliced and blew him apart only serving to spin and blast the beast as it tried to catch its footing, clawed toes crunching into the ground before fanatical eyes glue to the boy. Those blasts were barely enough to annoy him much less hurt him like he was now. The spear fading as it threw it's hand out as a blade similar to Duncan’s family blade appear made of steel like it originally was before Heimrich broke the blade. Everything down to the finish was exact. The blade reforged like it was never destroyed, but using none of the original pieces.

Using its instantaneous teleportation Wrathful Vengeance swung the blade that Heimrich destroyed down to chop the young Mentat in two. “I really don’t need to dig too deep to kill you Heimrich!” Vengeance was starting to get faster in his interceptions of Heimrich, slicing faster and closer than he may like “You shattered the very sword that he treasured more than anything. The last little piece of his father he had left!” It sneered with wild eyes as it brought its blade down yet again to try and cleave Heimrich in two “And you stole that away from him. And he felt such glorious hatred for you~ He wanted nothing more than to rip the spine from your body and use it to strangle you with it!

Clearly Vengeance was starting to become more coherent again, shame, at least he shut up when he was mindlessly trying to rip Heimrich in the brief intervals of screaming his lungs out like a psychopath.

\\Inside Duncan’s mind//

The large grawled stone cross, held together by rusty chains binding the fading body of the Cross… Stood alone against a sea of tar like emotions that had already crawled and stuck to the crucified host… The last remnants of him drowning under the surface as all he could feel was the slashes, the twinges in his muscles, the blasts tearing flesh from bone, the dulling sense of pain as only lust for revenge flooded forward. There was no saving himself this time… There was no magic word to bring him back from the brink. No secret spell in place to inhibit Vengeance. Not lucky break that will let him see everyone again…

So this is it huh… I… I wanted to do so much more… I… At least everyone will find my notes after this… And Heimrich is so strong… He regained his humanity and he lived… He even gets the girl…

The young knight lay there, motionless in the depths of that tar black ocean that swept him and his cross down, as it only sank deeper, as more of Vengeance’s rage bubbled endlessly to the surface.

That’s not fair… I think I finally found mine and this is where it ends… I die. I leave my sister behind, I leave Felix behind… I leave… Scotti… I… But I don’t want to go… I… Who… Am… Where... It wasn’t much longer now… Soon enough there would be nothing left of Duncan. Everyone could see it in his soul, the last yellow dots were being swallowed up in that ocean of thick black ooze of negative emotions that Vengeance was living on. There was nothing left to save...

OOC: I was hoping to have my big post out by now, but I fell sick the other day so I haven't been able to collect much thought towards it. I've been thinking out what I can and finding images for stuffs, but that's about it. Whoops?

Just a heads up guys if you see two random nations pop in here don't worry those are just puppets I'll be using for a new RP.

To be fair, we probably would've assumed they are puppets or friends of someone already here, since they are both brand new nations moved at identical times.

Either way good to know.

Oh I was just giving you warning just in case you thought they were raider nations.

I have ways of investigating such things ;)

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been having a busy week.

Aolya Galaxy
Unknown Star System

The stars were shining brightly as the planets within in the system slowly orbits its white dwarf sun alien like ships fly through the star system as a fleet of them head to a planet full of life and civilization the continents lit up in city lights.

But that was about to change as a large unknown fleet entered the Star System and began shooting the alien ships that were protecting their Star System. It wasn't long before the alien fleet was overpowered by the invasion force.

On closer inspection the invasion ships had the Vakarian Symbol on them the Vakarians are a terran warrior race hailing from the Vakarkana Star System on the edge of the Galaxy. And the aliens of this Star System knew they were doomed as soon as the Vakarian came for the Varkarians have never known defeat in their years of raiding Star Systems across the Galaxy.

Planetsids

Vakarian gunships descend down from the sky as their starfighters use ionic bombing on enemy positions to clear a path for the landing troops. A few minutes later the gunships landed on the ground deploying soldiers, tanks, and mechs onto the battlefield the once blue atmosphere of this planet was soon covered in smoke as the alien cities become under attack by the invading Vakarians.

Far away from the battle a figure looked over the horzion as he breathed in the alien air only smelling the blood, metal, and smoke the figure smiled as he put his hemlet on.

"Chief Årud." A Vakarian Raider said.

"We are closing in on the enemy's main cities that produce iorium it should be enough to fuel our ships and tanks for 200 years."

"That is good to hear, and what about those ruins our scientist keeps talking about?" Årud asked.

"We believe that these ruins are hidden deep in this planet's mountains and our scans have picked up heavy ioruim readings." The Raider explained.

"Good once we wipe out these worm people we'll take a good look at these so called ruins." Årud said as he took out his plasma shotgun and began charging towards the battlefield letting a mighty battle cry.

ZOCOM wrote:He understood the implications well enough, afterall he thought he was a good man despite everything that happened. He was honourable, despite the whole pirate thing, fair, again pirate, and a good person despite his past experiences that would have turned ay normal man to committing very vile acts. Though that was all down to Jacob's choice in company keeping him sane over the years, they were his safety net as well as his crew.

"I'm certain I can keep it working for awhile. I'll just have to carefully consider who I accept into my crew next time. I can't afford to take any random cutthroat and try and reshape them into a good person. Tried that once already." He says following her down until they hit the beach.

OOC: Apologies for the delay. Didn't have a response for this at first, then lost it to procrastination. Then lost it to Celecia and Maria, then lost both to being sick. Hopefully I will have a clear enough head to tackle the big boy tomorrow but honestly, now that I'm sitting up and not laying down, I'm realizing I still REALLY don't feel good XD

BIC: Just as Jacob finishes his statement and Pearle begins her response, the beach shore they are heading to comes into view dead ahead "That's fair, recruiting like that doesn't work for everyone. Then again it's not like the Blazehearts are reshaping them as much as just...keeping them in line." At this point, Jacob would still be unaware of how the Blazehearts actually work in that regard, so this line would generate quite a bit of shocked confusion for his mind. But before he can even react an excited and ever drunk Iris is already calling out to them from the beach, waving her arm high above her head. A couple barrels can be seen on the ground nearby her, no doubt (emptied) kegs of alcohol.

"Hey big sis! Gentlesmoke! Wh--hiccup--at took ya?!" Her face is flushed under the eyes and her eyelids are just a little bit lower than normal, so she's actually showing some signs of being drunk this time. It just took two barrels full of alcohol to do it, and outside of those things she seems otherwise fine.

OOC: Taking advantage of the whole sick and not really getting better thing, I've been catching up with anime I've fallen behind on. I'm now all caught up with One Piece, Fairy Tail, and am currently catching up with Attack on Titan...I had only seen season one XD

Stuff gets pretty wack apparently, not that I don't already know because I can't help but spoil stuff for myself by looking up any and all questions I have while watching shows. I start by looking up my question, then the answer name drops other stuff from the manga so I just get other questions, one thing leads to ten things and next thing I know...I know waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I should as an anime only consumer :P That said, it's nice to see it instead of reading it...hence why I do anime but not manga.

BIC: It was true, Jacob was pretty unaware of how the Blazehearts ran things. So hearing this was news to him, not that he had much time to process it as Pearle's sister Iris called them both out. Seeing both barrels, most likely empty, there beside her as he was pretty astonished that she actually looked drunk this time. Getting called out by the nickname she gave him he couldn't help but bow in a gentleman's fashion before smiling up to her "I didn't know I was late. I'm terribly sorry about my tardiness miss Iris"

Greetings from the new embassy.
