Would I? There are thousands of pieces of military equipment originating in the 20th century alone. The armor thing isn't that surprising.

Ever hear of a “gambeson”? Or a “hauberk”? What about a “coat of plates”, or a “brigantine”? Not to mention the individual pieces of plate armor. And that’s even a fraction of all the types of armor

I said I knew that many types existed, I never said that I knew any beyond chain mail, scale mail, and plate mail.

You can make armor literally outta anything, it’s actually amazing!
Theirs armor made of wood, bone, leather (actual hardened leather, none of that fantasy nonsense), stone, textiles, bronze, iron, and steel with varying degrees of effectiveness

Thanks! It’s kinda my thing :D

Leather and textile armor seems like the kind of armor scouts and skirmishers would have.
Stone armor seems just plain impractical.

Wwwweeeelllll...

Textile armor, aka “the gamebeson”, when properly made could stop arrow strikes with al the padding. Granted, it had to be thick, but it could do it. Of course, you really wanna wear it under mail or something so you A: have something to cushion the blows with and B: have a little more armor on top. But it was fairly effective for what it was, and even knights used them. Really everyone used them, like, if they didn’t work, they wouldn’t be so dang common

Leather is a bit trickier. Cuir Bouilli or boiled leather was a thing, and when properly made, was surprisingly effective. Of course, it can be brittle and doesn’t withstand time well, but it can be made hard enough to like function as legitimate armor. With enough layers, you could stop arrows and swords and what not.

Stone is incredibly impractical and heavy, and was only really ever used for ceremonial stuff. And even then their like small stone scales laced together O_o

And I would assume wooden armor was phased out entirely after leather and bronze were made available.

Depends where you are. In the Americas, they never really used metal armor, just wood and textile

Also this is related to the boiled leather, it’s worth a watch: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RO_nG6OpCKg

Well, in the Americas, they barely ever used metal in general.

Not true! They used it for jewelry and things, and especially so after Europeans arrived (but that’s far ahead of what we’re talking about)

Also, here’s a video on gambesons (the guy knows what he’s taking about and it’s PG-13 friendly)

I'm talking in practical applications, like weaponry and armor.
They did make some nice stone weaponry, though.

Something like...this?

While the Rabbit Bandits of the Kek Kingdom have a large stockpile of stolen weapons, they still have a traditional arms industry that is very active to this day. Check them out here!

Most Rabbits prefer to fight unarmored, using speed and agility as their primary defense. However, some higher ranking members will don wicker armor on occasion.

Shields of wicker and wood are relatively common among the rabbits. They are also known for using shields made out of turtle shells, usually among the higher ranking rabbits. These shields are traditionally paired with a short iron spear.

Rabbit bandits have been constructing stone axes and clubs since as long as they can remember. While not as durable as iron and steel weapons, they can still be used with brutal efficiency.

These massive oars have been adopted as weapons, being carried by only the strongest warriors. They are most often seen with a Rabbit Chieftain's bodyguard, as their considerable size and awkward point of balance make them difficult to use.

These weapons are far more dangerous then their name might imply. Each sword is embedded with prismatic blades on each side, providing the weapon with an exceptionally sharp cutting surface, even sharper than a Kek Kingdom sword. There are accounts of these weapons being able to decapitate a horse.

These short weapons are surprisingly durable and versatile, able to bash, hack and slash their way through armor. They are usually constructed out of greenstone but can also be carved from bone if no greenstone is available.

This versatile weapon allows its user to switch between bludgeoning someone unconscious for slavery or ransom or stabbing them with the stone or metal point embedded in the side of the weapon.

These knives are constructed from naturally occurring glasses, through a process called "knapping". Like the Wooden Sword, they are extremely sharp yet fairly simple to make. If no glass is available, they can be made from stone, increasing their durability but reducing their sharpness.

Highly skilled archers, the Rabbit Bandits make thousands of stone arrow heads every year. In addition to the bow, Rabbit bandits are known to utilize crossbow, slings and occasionally wooden or bone javelins.
