Greetings, Pacificans! For our newer regionmates, I'd like to mention the discord server for the Pacific. We maintain an active discord server, and it is great for meeting other Pacificans/our regional leadership, getting involved in our regional government, and getting the most out of your citizenship in the New Pacific Order.

What is Discord?

Having probably heard about New Pacific Order's Discord server, either from your fellow Pacificans or from simply reading the regional page or dispatches, you might be wondering how to join it. Or not, if you are already a proficient Discord user, simply skip every step until the one where the server link is posted.

Now, for those unaware, LinkDiscord is a communication app available in browser, PC app or mobile format that allows its users to form large organized communities. These communities are called servers, in most cases, and each one has its own specific organization and set of rules and moderators. The intent of this dispatch is to provide an initial introduction to how to function with Discord and, more particularly, the NPO's server.

Benefits of Joining Discord

  • The ability to become fully integrated with all opportunities available in The Pacific and make the most out of your citizenship is attained through joining the most active aspect of the region.

  • A chance to help determine the regional direction for the World Assembly votes is also available if you so wish to help dictate our decision for specific proposals, including your own.

  • Discord gives you an easier route to meeting the extant regional leadership, discussing regional affairs, and is necessary for people who aspire to become involved in our government.

  • Inclusion in the full regional experience and introduction to the wider community of the New Pacific Order is available through Discord membership.

Getting Started with Discord

The first step would be to make an account in Discord itself. While not necessary to utilize server it is usually recommended due to ease of reusability and practicality. An account is absolutely free and simply unlocks a lot of features that a guest user might not have. Simply go to Linkhttps://discord.com and register an account, preferably with a username that won't breach any NPO rules, and this step should be done. You'll inevitably be prompted to confirm your email, so simply check your inbox.

With your account registered you now have a few options. You can choose to do one of them, or even all of them. You can open Discord on your browser, download and install the application or download the mobile app. Any of them will work for the purposes of this tutorial, though the PC app is more flexible in terms of functionality (use of one platform does not exclude the use of others).

LinkClick here to join the NPO Discord server. It is as simple as that after every previous step has been accomplished. Click it and after a prompt to join the server you will be in. Now comes the more specific part.

Upon joining the server, if you have already applied for citizenship and been accepted (if not, check this dispatch for a guide on how to do it) Linkpost here to request that your account be added to private channels.

If you have any more questions pertaining to the use of Discord itself, feel free to ask the people within the server for help. We hope your experience within the community is fun and fruitful.

OOC: It is not any kind of record, but Rho Ophiuchi is a great source of textbooks on matters such as petroleum engineering, and how to cut corners when building nuclear reactors.

We're a great source of sci-fi books. Our people like sci-fi books, especially the older ones, because most of the things in them are more or less reality nowadays, and they are hilarious reads.

Ooh, close to 3 billion. Which would mean around 1.5 years of.. existing.

Novoblupolia wrote:Matvey: "Novoblupolian government follows the neutrality doctrine introduced by the administration of president Hasuke Northes in 1933. There are currently no reasons or advantages for Novoblupolian government to not follow it. I wouldn't expect any form of intervention in foreign conflicts aside from providing humanitarian aid to recovering nations and evacuation efforts for various foreign refugees."

Matvey Guchkin also spoke about Novoblupolian democracy and its paradox.

"Novoblupolia, despite it's liberal nature, is essentially an authoritarian controlled democracy. Look at the Parliament - 58/60 seats are controlled by 3 main parties which were created all the way back in the 1928. And besides, all three of our main parties are very close to each other on the political spectrum - they're all Social Democrats. But then again, this may be a good thing. If people didn't want social Democrats in charge, they'd vote for independents. And the independent candidates have never in our nation's history controlled more than 5 seats. So there you have it - a heavily regulated, albeit still democratic system that people support nonetheless. Make of that what you will."

Magazines reading Mystery from Kaisershafen: What happened? laid besides him. Well, one could wonder what happened in the biggest port in the nation but this Accountant here had a more pressing issue than the mysterious disappearance of a couple of people. He was here at the Commissioner of Management to ask for a pay rise or even a promotion, he had worked in this job for 15 years and it was starting to get grueling work. Sitting late into the evening and typing on his keyboard while an old ceiling fan on the verge of death tried to keep the temperature at 23 degrees. A dim light bulb and his computer illuminated his surroundings in a tiny office with its dull grey wallpaper and metallic archive lockers, with a tiny window which was not bigger than his head, even when he thought about it, at least he was not working outside where rain or snow could make him sick. Now though he would need to calm himself for his evaluation.

After 30 minutes a small, old man with a long mustache and spectacles came out of the office and called him in, in this office he or anyone else could see that this person was managing, a big oak table stood in the middle of the room with matching bookcases lining the wall with files, records, and binders; there even was a window as big as the man and ornamental lamps. Then the door closed and from outside nothing could be heard. The evaluations were often silent and only needed questions were asked or answered. This silence was continuously stopped by the ticking of a clock and the turning of pages. After what felt like ages he was released after getting a couple of nods thrown at his application. He knew from fellow co-workers that he could get that promotion in 2 weeks at the latest, then he could give himself a congratulation.

The Evaluation took so long that it was break time, he took the paper with the ominous headline and returned to his bleak office outside was a grey day with a drizzle as usual, and the salty air gave off a relieving smell. He sat down in his office chair and proceeded to the main page. Apparently, there was an unusually thick fog before the disappearances of around 14 people, and it all happened so sudden, he remembered the call with his uncle after the incident, he usually worked as a store clerk but that day he took himself the liberty of closing up early as his favorite show was on the Television again. When the fog set in the uncle remembered hearing screams and chants, perhaps there was something with a cult? And although the fish market was near the docks there was an unmistakable smell of fish and sea in the air.

Quite confusing, but if he wanted to guarantee the promotion he would have to work twice as hard until it happened so he skipped lunch and got typing again. After work, he wanted to reward himself with a trip to a shop to get his favorite pizza, then he retreated home. In the paper was more news from Kaisershafen and on Television were supposed eyewitnesses mentioning people in robes. How could this have happened the accountant asked himself, and more importantly, would this happen again and if, then where?

You put info about your nation into them.

Pretty much. You can write factbooks about anything.

Wubdich, Kathol Rift, I would like to inquire about a technology idea.

I want to incorporate railgun technology into the military for small-arms. I'm thinking something like a heavy machine gun (with the ammo box, stand, the whole equipment needed to operate a stand-based one), but for a sniper rifle. It fires single shots (before needing to be reloaded), and instead of an ammo box, an industrial-grade battery would be used to power it.

You could ask "Why use such a thing?". I mainly want to use this for heavy penetration. Instead of needing heavy firepower to bust through some thick armour (on a tank, for example), or needed to get close for grenades/rpg, this rifle could be used for long-distance penetration, powered by an electric battery that can be recharged.

Do you think this is possible?

I do believe MoA uses such simmilar technology. Also I doubt a sniper rifle railgun would be able to penetrate futuristic tank armours

The only thing that can penetrate futuristic tank armour is futuristic tank armour. So if you get some futuristic tank armour, you can wreck your enemy's futuristic tank armour. Get your futuristic tank armour today!

I'd recommend a bigger railgun
