the prime minister suggested to freya to allow communism a little bit, but freya is totally against that.
after continuing discussions the situation escalated, freya had the prime minister taken away by the palace guards and threatened him with immediate relief, later in the evening the prime minister called the defense minister and proposed a coup,

the defense minister disagrees and does not want to betray his kingdom, and told Freya what the prime minister was planning

the prime minister has been arrested on attempted coup and treason

Parliament took away all its functions and cannot hold a job as a civil servant or parliamentary member

the judge sentenced him to 5 years in prison and a fine of 150,000 crowns

Usually attempted coups and treason carry capital punishment.

we dont have capital punishments , we are vikings but not barbarians

Still, 5 years and a 150,000 fine sounds a bit lenient for a coup.

we don't have high penalties ... yet

I reiterate my new policy rules and regulations.

Laws for Slavery are as follows:
  • "Owners" will be referred to as "Managers" as they would be in a normal workspace

  • "Slaves" will be referred to as "Workers"

  • A minimum wage of 20$ per hour

  • Human Rights are still in effect

    1. No suppression of rights and freedoms

    2. A worker can leave a workspace with a permit from the Ministry of Labour

    3. If abused a worker may not return to the workspace without an official/officer for watch, this is to prevent repeated abuse

  • If a worker has worked for over 12 months, they can be assigned the following:

    1. Higher pay

    2. Permission to leave the system

    3. Permission to become a manager

    4. Permission to join a Government program (ex: Police, Military, Construction, etc)

  • Workers may also leave the system if they have worked for 5-7 months.

  • A person may become a worker in this system if they are over the age of 18 and are willing to join it, as well as:

    1. Healthy and passes medical tests

    2. Can work for 6-9 hours in fields and or different workplaces if necessary

No, but they are all irrational.

Novoblupolia wrote:No, but they are all irrational.

Depends on how they use that capital punishment. If they use it for every little thing, then that would be irrational. If they reserve it for mass murderers and cases of high treason that cause lots of deaths, is that irrational, or doing what's necessary to protect people?

Pretty sure EVERY SINGLE NATION which has death sentence has executed innocent people ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.

IRL, probably. And they've probably saved thousands of innocent people by ensuring that some can't kill again. So who's to say if the net result had been positive or negative?

Tell ya what, locking them up in the prison is ALSO A WAY OF ENSURING THEY CAN'T BRING ANY MORE HARM, furthermore, if the person is then found out to be not guilty you CAN MAKE UP TO HIM, even if a little, for yourself being IGNORANT and CORRUPT.

People have escaped from prison, and plenty of guilty people have been released from prison because of corruption, bail, good behaviour, and stuff like that, then gone and continued hurting and killing people. I do agree that the death penalty should be used with extreme moderation, and only when there is no doubt whatsoever that the guilty party is the one getting executed. But the whole justice system needs an overhaul with that. The solution isn't "Just trow everyone in jail, hope noone escapes, then say sorry and give the innocent folks some money when we find out we screwed up."

Unless they escape or cause problems in prison

Meanwhile, in Ottarenzia, we took out capital punishment altogether in favor of rehabilitation because no one wants to deal with the paperwork.
