Well, with business being so slow, I've managed to get through my backlog of gardening and cooking books. My garden is coming along nicely because of the weather and I'm hoping that the prickly pears ripen soon. I found this great dessert that I think everyone here would appreciate. I didn't know cactuses- er, cacti- could be so versatile!

Cactus are pretty interesting.

All we learned in school was that they stored water, so if we were ever lost in the desert we should locate one. I didn't know they had fruit or that people cooked with them.

Nopal salad is extremely tasty, as is prickly pear jam and jelly.
If you want I can bring you in some cactus. Do you have a garden or greenhouse?
