Corindia this post isn't about fish but maybe you'll be able to relate

I think Pothos is an invincible plant.

My workplace has been working from home for nearly 4 months now and they're just now letting a few extra essential employees in (I'm the new kid still so I got the short straw on Thursday/friday). There are plants out in the halls that still get watered by maintenance, but a few cubes have planters in them and they haven't really been tended to.

I've kidnapped (plantnapped?) ones I've found whose cube owner is still entirely remote work, and have set up a triage station at my desk.

Damn things still have green on them. Lost about 70% of their leaves but they're still hanging on after 15+ weeks of neglect

So...it took me really long to even do something as simple as this.

I said that most Magaratis in the past did not have last names. You say "but how can that be? your nation being full of so many warring clans is your thing"

Well...the thing is that, to this day, only rich families or the nobility are allowed to use their clan names as last names. The commoners take their tribal names as their last names. Folks who no longer want to be associated with their clan took the tribal last name as well.

In the past, commoners getting to use titles like "Bahadur" or "Maya" after they participated in raids or invasions was a big motivator for the endless supply of canon fodders the Magarati nobility got in their endless number of meaningless wars. "Prem" becomes "Prem Bahadur" or "Prema" becomes "Prem Maya". However, this is no longer applied in this modern world. We aren't invading anyone for starters (who am I even kidding) :P

So, the commoners in Dragao do Mar would have Gurung or Tamu (or Tamusyo if female) as their last names while the rich stick to their Bharinyal or Ghale or whatever clan names. Same with Chepang for commoners in San Montagna while the Chathaese nobility used Praja.

You know what, we really have no idea about the naming system of the Isles or what the most popular first names or last names even are. Perhaps we should make a dispatch on that?

For ex: Roendavar has Given Name + Patron God(+title) + Family Name(s)

AM has Given Name + Clan Name (if you are nobility) / Tribal Name (if you are a commoner / someone who renounced clan name)

Ioudaia, Dragao do mar, and San Montagna

For some reason I’m very happy about the thought of these plants being saved

Would people be ok with me making a new RP newsletter that'd come out every three weeks?

Just a little friendly reminder to upvote this factbook for more recognition and to please please PLEASE contact me for literally all of the open positions(which would help me tremendously!!)
K thnx y’all

Ioudaia has multiple naming systems, reflecting its complex ethnic and religious history, along with being conquered a lot.

So, there are four common naming systems in active use:

Given Name(s) + son/daughter of + Father's/Mother's Given Name(s). This is by far the most common.

Given Name(s) alone

Given Name(s) + Clan Name, for people descended from and/or married into the Kabiruz clans that settled Ioudaia's northwest

Given Name(s) + Family Name, for people who descended from and/or married into Delendran or historically-wealthy Omvar ("native Ioudaian") families. Family names were unusual to start with, so this is the rarest these days.

It's a bit complicated in a nation of almost 24 million people, but it's traditional, so it stays.

Well it could be worse, AM's GDPpc is very roughly 6 times higher than Martenyika's (if I actually did math correctly) lol.

You would have to talk to polar about it.

Austrovik-Germania wrote:Would people be ok with me making a new RP newsletter that'd come out every three weeks?

I mean I’ve got no problem with you doing that if you want to, stuff like regional newsletters doesn’t have to be through the regional government imo.

you could put pothos through a blender

I think it's invasive in a lot of places bc of that so be careful throwing away leaves and cuttings

Sounds like a gross and slightly poisonous smoothie. Willing to bet it tastes better than kale still.

I've got pothos at home so I'm well aware of what it can do. Got runners almost 6 feet long after letting it wrap around an iron plant rack and it's only been here a year. If there are dying or dead leaves I'll pluck them off but I won't throw them away until they're completely dark brown and desiccated

I’m doing okay, though nothing eventful happened and I’m slightly bored. thanks for asking though

Mahiyi wrote:Hey, how is everyone today?

A high positioned person at my work unexpectedly resigned today (or was kicked out; speculations are running wild) so that's that. Otherwise my "don't wanna" mood is continuing, but I read an article that that may be the side effect of unspent adrenaline generated by the corona tensions and insecurities :)
