A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

The World Assembly,
NOTES Section 9 of the General Assembly Resolution number 90, "Drug Trafficking Act",
"Recognises the right of nations to deny entry to vessels transporting recreational drugs."
HEREBY DEFINES,
Marijuana:: cannabis, a psychoactive plant used medically and recreationally,
Marijuana related paraphernalia:: any equipment, product, or accessory that is intended or modified for making, using, or concealing cannabis,
MANDATES a full pardon shall be issued to individuals incriminated or incarcerated for marijuana and marijuana related paraphernalia;
ENSURES reparations shall be paid towards individuals incarcerated for marijuana and marijuana related paraphernalia in the form of a percentage of the prosecuting nations GDP per capita per year of incarceration;
DENOTES an individual may possess and have on their person marijuana buds, concentrate marijuana, and edible marijuana, in an amount denoted by the individual's national governments and their municipalities with a minimum amount of two ounces, one half-ounce, and one-thousand milligrams, respectively;
ENACTS national governments and their municipalities to set in place programs for licensure for the national growing, buying, selling, storing, and otherwise trading of marijuana;
RECOGNISING a significant proportion of agreement from the population,
UNDERSTANDING this recognition does in fact warrant action,
DICTATES that the aforementioned shall be henceforth effective into law.

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Resolution: GA#286
General Assembly Resolution #286 “Reproductive Freedoms” (Category: Civil Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
The World Assembly,
Applauding the efforts of the resolution GA#286 to protect the right to access abortion,
Noting that this resolution allows abortion on demand, disregarding the potential for sex-selective abortion, a practice that harms the gender balance and creates societal problems such as; low marriage rates and low birth rates; and other discriminatory reasons for abortion such as disability and skin colour, reasons that this assembly is attempting to eradicate,
Observing that the target resolution mandates the legalisation of abortion on demand up until birth, a stance which is radical and needlessly divisive,
Understanding that numerous member states have legitimate ethical concerns regarding the unconditional legality of abortions after foetal viability, especially when alternatives such as adoption are readily available,
Frustrated that the term "termination of pregnancy" forces member nations to legalise Dilation and Extraction procedures, for example, commonly known as partial-birth abortions, procedures in which a living and viable feotus is destroyed despite it being able to experience pain in late term pregnancy,
Disgusted because GA#286 "recognises that the termination of pregnancy is a medical procedure," it permits member nations to require parental consent for any abortion procedure performed on a minor or a mentally disabled person, as per the mandates of GA#29, thus hampering the ability of the minor or mentally disabled adult to access abortion, in case their parent or guardian refuses to allow them to undergo an abortion,
Cognisant that because "termination of pregnancy" is a medical procedure, it is therefore protected by resolutions such as GA#29 in emergency cases, as GA#29 states "Patients have the right to emergency medical treatment under circumstances requiring lifesaving procedures", which means that termination of pregnancy must be legalised in life threatening cases,
Acknowledging the resolution GA#128, which allows abortion in cases of extreme disability, rape or incest, and in life threatening conditions,
Aware that the radical approach of the target resolution has only caused division within this assembly, including 5 defeated repeal attempts and dozens of attempted repeal proposals by numerous ambassadors from different nations, and has led to many nations choosing to leave the assembly, thus reducing its power,
Concerned with the many flaws present in the resolution, which should be replaced by a better version that handles the issue in a manner that guarantees the right to abortion whilst placing reasonable restrictions that prevent abuse such as the example mentioned above,

BELIEVING in the reproductive rights of all individuals,
ACKNOWLEDGING that individuals may have cultural or religious misgivings regarding termination of pregnancy,
BEMOANING the fact that some nations codify such misgivings without regard for the freedom of the individuals to choose,
YEARNING to put the choice of whether or not to give birth firmly in the control of each individual;
THE WORLD ASSEMBLY
RECOGNISES that the termination of pregnancy is a medical procedure, with all the rights and protections afforded to such a practice,
MANDATES that Member Nations recognise the right of all individuals to have their pregnancies terminated through safe, openly accessible procedures,
DEMANDS that Member Nations prohibit any impediment to the termination of pregnancy that is not applied to medical procedures of similar risk and complexity,
REQUIRES Member Nations to ensure protection from targeted animosity to providers and patients of the procedures covered by this resolution,
PERMITS Member Nations to enact policies encouraging individuals to allow live delivery of their offspring, provided such policies do not ultimately hinder the individual from terminating their pregnancy,
SUGGESTS that Member Nations encouraging live deliveries take unwanted offspring into their own care.
The General Assembly resolution Reproductive Freedoms was passed 7,786 votes to 3,649, and implemented in all WA member nations.
Originally, Mikeswill voted for the World Assembly Resolution "Reproductive Freedoms" and amongst NationStates residents, voting was 18-0 (100% For).
