Region: The Hope Federation
In a surprise move, Iranian leaderships has mobilized the entirety of the military, including both active and reserve forces. The stated reason for this is a new force-wide training program that will involve extensive war games. Eight infantry divisions and two armoured divisions (about 100,000 men) are deployed to near the southern border with Iraq, concentrated in Abadan, Khorramshahr, Qofas, and Hoveyzeh. 30,000 additional men are spread out across the mountainous portions of the border.
Quietly, about 600 artillery pieces and SPGs, 85 MRLs, and 10 Shahab-2 missile launchers are put into concealed positions along the southern border, stretching from Bostan to the Gulf. For air defense along areas with high troop concentrations, the border is protected by 100 static S-75 and S-200 SAMs, 50 mobile MIM-23 Hawk launchers, and a handful(10-20) of 2K12 Kub and Rapier missiles. These SAMs are supplemented by about 400 AA guns. The Navy begins concentrating forces near Bandar Bushehr.
