The current ruling party, Belaya Rus, has been seeing tensions with the Belorussian communist party. The BCP has called for an election and for president Lukashenko to resign. Boris Lysenko, current leader of the BCP has openly stated that he will run for president. Riots have broken out in Minsk calling for Lukashenko to resign, these are not BCP riots and are ran by a democratic opposition. The communists look like they will be the main opposition to Lukashenko's current dictatorship. The current political situation in Belarus looks tense, and the real game changer will be the military and other security forces, whether they will side with the BCP or Lukashenko.
