Breaking News: Neo-Pandora, Tranquillum reporting cases of C-7, DHHS and CDCR begin discussions of possible systems quarantine

Sad news from the homeworld today as Neo-Pandora health authorities report that there are a total of 74 cases of C-7 on Neo-Pandora.

“Today alone, we’ve seen a total of 62 cases. All female Eucadians. Yesterday, we only had 12 cases.” said Director Thomas Long of the Neo-Pandora Department of Public Health. “We are now at a total of 74.” The department is expecting cases to begin trending upward. In the city of Newmania, where all the cases are, the mayor and city council are having an emergency meeting tonight to discuss a possible modified quarantine, just like the one in New Artemis on Serenitatem.

“C-7 is a dangerous disease and we’re worried that we are in the beginning stages of a pandemic.” said Director Sancta at the CDCR. “We’ve reported three new mutations and we’re not even a month into this health emergency.”

The situation is just getting started on Tranquillum as well. “Today, we are officially confirming that Tranquillum has approximately 17 cases of C-7.” said Doctor Michael Kennedy of the Tranquillum Planetary Health Council. “We expect these numbers to increase. In the meantime, however, we are hopeful of the recovery of our patients.”

Director Sancta reported today at a press briefing at the Eucadian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that the Center for Disease Control and Response (CDCR) are working with government officials to begin a possible modified quarantine for the entirety of Eucadian space.

“It’s only a matter of time before the planets of Unitas and New Al’Terra also report cases. We need to have an appropriate and levelled response to this public health emergency. We’re looking at all the options right now and are in communication with President Brooks and Systems Council members, alongside the Queen and others in the Royal Institution.” said Secretary Carlson.

When asked what Eucadians could do to help prevent the spread of disease, Director Sancta said “Our research on C-7 is limited. Most of the information comes from the old world back in the 1980s. What we know based on this limited information is that it’s important to wash your hands for a full minute with warm water and soap and disinfect high-touch surfaces.”

“There is no information on the importance of wearing face masks or gloves or how long of a distance this disease can spread when one is talking and expelling small droplets from the mouth. We saw with Cor-2089 back on Al’Terra that wearing face masks was important alongside maintaining a social distance of 1 meter.” said Sancta. “But that outbreak lasted three months and was barely an issue.”

“We’re continuing to research and learn more about this disease. We expect to have proper methods of prevention here within the next few weeks.” says Sancta.
