A group of unidentified armed men ambushed a convoy carrying an aid worker from Salisford. The armed men stopped the convoy, which contained two vehicles, and shot at the front vehicle. The aid worker, who was in the passenger seat of the first vehicle, was hit multiple times in the chest. Lyoan army personnel and Salisfordian gendarmes riding in the second vehicle hopped out to return fire, but the attackers had fled before the guards could properly aim at the assailants. At the end of the attack, the driver (Lance Rukongo) and the aid worker (Teodoro Palermo) were dead. No group has claimed the attack, but the government has attributed it to the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Creeperopolis.

The Paleocacherian Department of Foreign Affairs releases a statement condemning the violence targeting noncombatants in Lyoa and raises the travel advisory alert level to "Travel Highly Discouraged." All Paleocacherian citizens in the country are asked to check in with the embassy every twelve hours to ensure their safety.
