The trick is recognizing when something is a default. The first time I saw a nation with "The centre cannot hold" as a motto, it got my vote for quoting one of my favorite poems. After 10 "centre cannot hold"s, 7 "the best lack all conviction"s, and quite a few falcons who are having trouble hearing the falconer, I'm starting to think that the new nation page might have started providing default mottos at some point (and apparently Max is a big fan of Yeats). Now I just assume that any nation with a number in its name and fewer than 10 billion people is a card farmer until proven otherwise.
