Well they are trying to explain to you why that clogs it up, but you keep talking back
Except I merely need one person to point out that rule to me, which would be fine but four people getting on on the small problem (now five) does that not seem like it also clogs it up a bit compared to a simple two short messages compared to the discussion now following?
It's clearly that they are bothered by it, but we were only trying to help.... But at the end of the day, if they will get banned from XKI for spamming, it ain't our fault. We explained the rules.. =)
This discussion is pointless. If someone wants to micro-analyse each rule and be mr. smart pants, they can be my guest. I'm going back to RP-ing.
Very nice as that should be what this about. To help get on that topic more, any advice on how to grow my country towards an economic paradise based dictatorship?
There are several ways, you could choose options that increase Tax or focus on allowing more freedom to businesses
Anyways, I'm kind of surprised no one went with Caterpillars as an answer to the poll - that was my second choice
When in a survival situation anything edible is advisable
Krystalveil and Thedairos
Make products and sell them for higher price to somebody else.
Have been doing that, basically whenever I see an option to side with a CEO or business I pick that one.
I only ate snails when in Paris, but also heard they cook frog legs - so yeah, if the french eat that, can't be that bad.
There are also other options as well, the economy will grow but you need to balance Tax with a growing population, a small tax rate will not be effective at bringing in GDP, alternatively a higher tax rate will destroy business
I understand that Pollster THX1138 actually tried all those options prior to posting the Poll.
The Soylent Green Party, Flying Eagles, Kohnhead, Haivon, and 2 othersNilveroe, and Free Las Pinas
If I heard correctly the Pollster also tried other options but decided that they weren't high quality enough to be in the Poll.
I have eaten frog legs. Not bad at all, but a lot of work for little meat. I suppose the most unusual thing I've eaten are chicken feet.
If there's no rest for the wicked, then these people certainly aren't getting any sleep. But who's the vilest villain of them all?
Everybody talking about eating frogs or whatever but what about black holes?
Nooooooooooooooo, Flying Eagles, East Cashinamasian, and Nilveroe
Hey guys this is a small project I am doing! I would like your support

I liked that.
Congratulations to Prairiesora and Anisopterra on winning 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Factbook Writing contest:
Congratulations as well to Anisopterra of Team Fleeb on being the runner up. Their factbook "Anisopterran Gingerbread Cookies" took a different approach, outlining a recipe for a specific Anisopterran delicacy and providing a well organized instruction set for it. Judges said the factbook would have been improved by adding more information about other dishes and cultural context.
Additionally, thank you to our judges, Lamoni of Greater Dienstad and New sistonia and Tamakuni of New West Indies who all left thorough and encouraging feedback. Lamoni also offered two samples of writing for participants to compare and use to compare their work here and here.
I have provided all of the feedback given to me by the judges below.
Previously I had said that Kohnhead had received an Honorable Mention in the competition. Upon reviewing the results to make this Dispatch, I realized that this was in error. I apologize to Kohnhead and Team Fleeb for my mistake.
While I very much enjoyed the tropical theme of both the factbook entry and the nation as well, there are some inescapable medical questions about the cuisine of Quwoe. Firstly, if everyone in Quwoe is vegetarian, then from where do they obtain protein and other badly needed nutrients that are extremely hard to obtain in a vegetarian diet? Throughout human history, Pacific Island cultures have used fish, shellfish, and other edible aquatic species in order to obtain these nutrients, as they would otherwise not be found on these often volcanic islands, and would lead to serious medical problems, and death by malnutrition. Wild hogs, birds, bats, crocodiles, chickens, cows, and other animals were also typically imported and used in order to help solve the problem.
If I may make a suggestion, you might want to look into adding Lentils, Soybeans, Sorghum, Cassava, Rice, and Sweet Potatoes to your national diet, if you want it to remain vegetarian, while still providing sufficient protein and other nutrients for the population.
I found that while the factbook entry was engaging, I could not fully get into it, as I kept searching for an answer to this obvious medical question.

Anisopterra:
I enjoyed this entry. I can easily picture Anisopterran children eagerly awaiting the baking, icing, and cooling of the cookies in anticipation of consuming them utterly, with no shame or remorse, like children the world over. If I may say so, the designs are also very good, they make the cookies look even more delicious. I also enjoy that some of the larger cookie entries are over one-hundred square feet, yet still decorated with care. I have to imagine that the competition as to who has made the best Gingerbread Cookie Mural is quite intense. Do the winners win anything in this competition? My only regret is that this entry is relatively short, though it has a very high quality level.

Megistos:
I found myself liking the descriptions of the food, though I would like to have seen a lot more information about the food culture of the country, as well as more information on the Megistian God of Food. I was also expecting there to be more available for dinner, considering that it is served later at night than in most places.

Krystalveil:
I would have liked to have seen a lot more expansion on the national food scene in this factbook entry. While what little information is in the entry is good, it just needs… more. There is no flair, no nationalistic passion in this food scene, it just gives a very bare bones and dry account of what food is like in the country. Interesting cultural things like sharing dinner with family and friends, or the Emperor liking blueberries just seem stuck on there like an afterthought, when descriptions of such affairs can be made just as great as descriptions of the food involved. This entry makes me sad.
3/10
Kohnhead:
I can tell that meat and seafood is very central in this national cuisine, though I would also have liked to have seen more detail on specific dishes, whether they are meat, seafood, fruits, or vegetables. Indeed, the entry makes it seem like anything except meat or seafood is regarded as something of an afterthought, and even the expanded detail on potato dishes could have used a lot more work. Are there regional variations to dishes in Kohnhead? Are there flavors that the people in this nation like more than others? Are there any spices or seasonings that go into the food in Kohnhead?
Some explanation of why alcohol is not permitted at the dining table would have been nice as well, even if it comes down to a display of good manners, it would have been a very nice cultural tidbit to include in this entry.
I’m also kind of disturbed by the need to state that the chicken tenders and chicken nuggets in this nation are “better than fast food quality.” What makes these dishes better than fast food quality? Is it the quality of the ingredients used in them? Are there little sides and/or condiments that go with them? Are they used as parts of larger dishes? This is left a complete mystery.

Wille-Harlia:
Like the entry from Anisopterra, I found this entry to be of high quality overall, but it could use more fun little details and information, given that the vast majority of the entry talks about how to make a cupcake, and from what. There is but a single paragraph of anything else, including cultural and food cultural ideas, and I would like to have seen more.

Prairiesora:
I very much enjoyed reading this entry, and I can tell that a fair amount of thought went into it. Things like workday food, weekend food, holiday foods, and even regional foods have been taken into account, and are well-presented in this entry. You can get a very real sense of the eating habits of the various people in Prairiesora, and how the climate and terrain in the respective parts of the country have affected what people in those areas eat. This entry helps to make the people of Prairiesora seem more real, and much more alive, and less like they are statistics in an online game.

#2: Prairiesora - This factbook's strong suit is definitely the amount of information the reader is given. This work does an excellent job at giving the reader a concise and pleasant review of the culinary diversity in Prairiesora, through paragraphs that describe the meal time (Even being as descriptive as stating the amount of calories consumed), the types of food consumed in different regions of the country (Such as people in the woody regions liking to consume seafood, or people from the mountainious regions only having the option to eat meat, etc). But, regardless, I would advise Prairiesora to make use of formatting - like Anisopterra has - to make this factbook even more enjoyable to read.
#3: Megistos - Starting off strong with an introduction of Megistos' home language in the form of the factbook title and the image of a book cover at the start of the factbook, what sets apart Megistos from the other entrants is the heavy use of the [table] code - increasing the quality of this entry exponentially. The amount of information is concise, and overall makes up for a nice little read. However, I noticed the information overall was lackluster, and the factbook could use more pictures to increase the quality.
For Anisopterra, it was visually pleasing. Sadly the description was a little short but since it was made in a recipe-like format the short description fits in nicely. The only comment that I have is that the gingerbread cookies peaked my interest into the culinary culture of Anisopterra, so it was a little underwhelming that it was just one recipe. A few other staples foods would have been nice, but for what was provided it was a good job - 8/10
For Megistos, the very first image made me excited for what was below, but then that changed quickly. The descriptions were good, but left a lot of room where the reader didn't know what that meant. For instance, "A juicy type of fish, with some modifications" what does that mean? There was a lot to be desired with the information given, especially since this was based off of a major god in the country's religion. There was a lot of opportunity to talk about the history and culture especially as it tied into religion of these foods, but sadly by just mentioning it and then moving on left a bad taste in my mouth. However, you had a few food items that were very creative, just wish that I had more to go on - 6/10
Krystalveil’s one sadly followed suit. It was informative, but lacked context. It felt as though a brief description of the foods was not enough. I wanted more, I wanted a why? Also, the deserts were placed weirdly with the spoiler. Not only did it not really tell me about them, but the transition between dinner to desert and then alcohol was weird - 6/10
Kohnheadians’s post was nice. While it didn’t make use of the design that others had, it had context. While it didn’t exactly go into the history, it did say why and from where these foods originated from. Maybe some style for flare and examples (like what types of cheese?) - 9/10
Wille-Harlian’s submission added in the context that I was looking for. Informative recipe that seems feasible, while adding in the why. I would have liked to see some examples of these characters of legend like another entry showed, but it was good for what was there - 8/10
Prairiesora’s entry was exquisite. While it didn’t have the history aspect, it sure did have the cultural context! Examples of certain meals were lacking, but overall it was incredibly detailed. Aesthetics would have tied it all together - 10/10
Overall, the posts were very nice. A few things to point out for future reference, reread what you write! There were spelling mistakes and other errors that can distract the reader. My suggestion is to read it out loud you yourself. Sometimes you can hear the error. Also, don’t forget the historical context. For cultural related topics, it is best to add in a why. Why did people choose lobster over fish? Well, that’s because the ancient tribesmen held a ritual when hundreds of lobsters washed up on the shore. As time progressed, lobster still held its value and has become a commodity among the rich and affluent. While this is just a rough example, it adds in a “why this is what it is” to your culture. Again, they were very well done. I hope that this improves your future role play
