This region recently asked about embassies with both my main region and my inter-regional alliance- so I have an important offer for this region
We would like to invite Abydos to the Democratic Realm of Allied Regions(DRAR), an inter-regional alliance
Please note that DRAR is a hub of activities, such as roleplays between regions (Olympics, Contests, etc) and a way of extending safety measures over regions. As a part of joining this alliance, we require you to offer refuge for conquered nations or defense for threatened regions in the alliance.
If you all agree to these terms, please let Zyris create a nation called the Borderlands of Abydos Diplomat and send it to this region once I give Zyris the password.
Stay active within the new nation, and try to represent this whole region, for many events and important decisions will soon take place in DRAR headquarters!

Learn, So that You can also Teach

I am obligated by the higher forces to inform everyone that my three day absence has come to a close and I walked back into Abydos with great news. Our second Abydos Axiom calls us to learn and teach, and thus that is what we shall do. Here is some news of the day:
First, a poll has been created concerning the alliance request. Our people can decide if this is an avenue of pursuit for us. I admit I am intrigued by the idea, but our fate lies in our hands ultimately, and we must now decide what our future holds.
Second. Only an informed population can make wise decisions. At this moment we stand at 7 nations, 78 embassies, and one filled government position. This is small in number but I pray it proves great in ambition. Other regions and nations are recognizing this as well and see a new hope emerging here in our place. I have this came to several agreements to provide news from the outside world to enter. Most prominently now is The NewsStand, which compiles news from all over the NationStates world. An invitation is extended to all to learn about our world and use the information for the betterment of Abydos.
Third. Abydos is young, fresh, and new in our eyes, but not to all. In compiling our prehistory (that which happened before the current founding), I reached out several days ago to known nations who may know of our ancient past. One such nation, Ra-harakhte, generously answered the call and provided many new incites to this time period which had until now been buried in the sands of time. Thus, in addition to our new recruitment drive on this day, new alliance request, and new information and news flooding in, We shall devote section of our time into a full archaeological dig into our distant past and light up previously dark places. Our History will be updated here soon to reflect what is found.

Our region is a primary target for raiding. We are growing quickly, and we don't have a military.
Pamat, that is a valid concern about raiding. Several precautions are in place already to prevent this. Most significantly, Executive Authority for our World Assembly Delegate is off. This renders any tag raid useless as they would be unable to appoint officers, change the WFB, regional flag, etc. This precaution should remain in effect until we have a Delegate who is endorsed by at least ten nations to deter most tag raiding.
Any other acts of aggression can easily be prevented through an aware and active founder and population standing on unison. I believe we have that as well.
Currently, however, we have no active World Assembly members besides myself. I will invite you and others to join the World Assembly to strengthen our region. Our Ankh Emperor shall serve as delegate when we get numbers high enough to support such a position.

Our growth accelerates organically and in our favor. Abydos has surpassed 12 nations, 3 of which are World Assembly members. We stand today at one of the highest populations Abydos has ever had historically. The record stands at 16 nations, and we are set to surpass this in a matter of hours. The ancients would be pleased that our home is growing and thriving.
It was made clear to me, dear people, that deep in our ancient past Abydos was an outpost region belonging to the region Egypt and later served Egypt as a refugee encampment for displaced nations from a long forgotten war. Their struggle to survive in this unforgiving desert as refugees echoes to us today and our fight to not only survive, but thrive. This survival instinct unites the unnamed ancestors and us today, and we should embrace whatever force drove our ancestors here for refuge and drives us here for residency.
In keeping with this will to fight on, I am pleased to announce that the people of Abydos, through their endorsements have chosen our first Ankh Emperor, Capitasland. History will remember our decision here today as we evolve out of anarchy and into order.
The Ankh Emperor is charged with voting on behalf of Abydos in the World Assembly as well as assisting in the cause to help new nations thrive and be welcome. The position is held only by the strongest politically and by those who has the most endorsements. As Capitasland is this nation, he is charged with fulfilling the duties he acquired by the office until such a time arises when another challenges the position with more endorsements. This is our way now, and this shall be our legacy.
May the ancestors be with Capitasland and grant him wisdom and a long reign.

No. It has no actual influence on your nations development. The WA does 2 things, it identifies you as an individual player (whoch is good for you), and adds a global political playing field through resolutions and regional leadership.
