Palmerston's Final Ministry

In 1861, the incumbent Palmerston government (a coalition of Whigs and Liberal Conservatives), was reelected by wide margins over the Radicals and Conservatives. Palmerston's final term oversaw the passage of important legislation.

The Criminal Law Consolidation Acts 1861 consolidated provisions from many earlier statutes which were then repealed. Their purpose was to simplify the criminal law. There were six consolidation Acts and a further Act that effected consequential repeals. However, they are essentially revised versions of an earlier set of consolidation Acts, commonly known as Peel's Acts, incorporating subsequent statutes. These six acts were the Accessories and Abettors Act, the Criminal Statutes Repeal Act, the Larceny Act, the Malicious Damage Act, the Forgery Act, the Coinage Offences Act, and the Offences Against the Person Act, all passed in 1861. The Companies Act of 1862 was the first piece of British legislation that regulated company law universally, further highlighting British economic prosperity.

However, things were not so swell for Britain's Prime Minister. On October 12, 1865, he caught a chill. Instead of retiring immediately to bed, Palmerston spent an hour and a half dawdling. He then had a violent fever but his condition stabilized for the next few days. However, on the night of 17 October, his health worsened. Lord Palmerston died at 10:45 am on Wednesday, 18 October 1865, two days before his eighty-first birthday. Although Palmerston wanted to be buried at Romsey Abbey, the Cabinet insisted on a state funeral and burial at Westminster Abbey, which he was, on 27 October 1865. Lord John Russell, the former Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary, succeeding Palmerston as Prime Minister.

I just haven't really got any motivation to RP, I chose this nation because I thought it would be fun but I don't really have any ideas. Well I guess that's really my fault, anyway I might get something up later.

The civil war ended almost a decade ago bro why would I still be in shambles when I have been rebuilding before Zenaida's death? I have been building my navy and my army ever since I finished rebuilding, so. Keep thinking I am as weak as you assume

Okay, I'm seriously starting to reconsider after looking at Cormoe's previous posts with the civil war and reconstruction and everything. Jesus Tapdancing Christ, the lore I have to work with is an absolute mess. I beg you, let me retcon this dumpster fire of a country.

Just seeing the previous lore Cormoe had RPed has already sucked out any and all enthusiasm I had for playing the US. How in the hell do I continue RPing with this?

The Shun had shown promise after they overthrew the Qing, but failed to achieve much. They had been inactive, barely doing anything, and acting inactive throughout the entire state. They had done little to nothing to improve the lives and livelihoods of the Shun peoples, and many began to believe that China was going on the wrong path. They hated the traditional values, the imperial tyranny of the state, and were prepared to revolt over it. Military rulers in the state had been growing into more and more power, decentralizing the state, turning it into a mere military oligarchy, and causing the people under the state to suffer as a result, and many had enough regarding this. As such, political activist Sun Yat-Sen (yes i know he wasn’t even born yet, just pretend he was born early or something smh i need him for the rp) would begin advocating for the complete overthrow of the Shun state, and to replace it with a democratic country, inspired by the democracies of the west. He would secure a following, known as the Tongmenghui, and would prepare to instigate the revolution.

How do both parties plan on setting up their government? Will all parties have a near equal say?

Given that there are only two appointable positions by the Prime Minister, the current plan is to split the government between parties.

Ya he sort of went down the "I'll fix every problem and have no new ones to remain the top of the powers" path. Aslong as your retcons make sense to a degree, you could change alot
