Pride Month is coming to an end today. This has been a good month. I learned a lot doing research for the Pride Month Mini-History and I hope you all learned something

Due to a relatively-recent military incident, one involving several members of the Debsian league, much internal focus was placed on the Vilesian military, specifically on how to best raise an army in case of a large scale conflict. While a small voluntary militia force is usually raised in each state, in the context of a possible defensive war against massive, powerful nations such a force seems inadequate. While the recent political climate in New Viles is trending more towards pacifism, the central parliament did pass a quite controversial bill.

The law in question, the Emergency Defense Act, allows for the otherwise nearly powerless president to enact immediate conscription of any adult citizen into the military in case of a defensive war. Though initial parliament reactions were nigh entirely negative, addendums to the bill added additional qualifications for the bill to be enacted, most importantly, a majority vote from the central parliament. Though this assuaged many concerns, there is still a lot of discussion over what exactly the definition of a “defensive war” is.

While many favor a simple definition, simply describing it as a war began after attack from an aggressor force, some have already worriedly brought up the possibilities of a president appealing to the idea of “preemptive defense”, or even a conducting a false flag event in order to wage war.

Though the bill remains controversial, the relatively stable geopolitical climate has a defensive war between New Viles and any other nation to be a far flung possibility, which assuages the worries of many, though it is likely to weigh on the minds of citizens for a considerable amount of time.

After the crisis of Christianism insurgents and lockdown, JNB is finally able to air again, as lockdown and curfews are over.

We still must file some papers and get permissions from the Joseon government, but as soon as that is done, JNB will be broadcasting weekly news for all Joseon civillians in no time.

Official Joseon Statement

After several weeks of lockdown in Soul, pro-Liossalde insurgent forces, known as the Holy Revolutionary Christianism Militias in Joseon, have been purged and wiped out. Any remaining have either been captured, or have retreated from the capital.

Although still in a de-facto state of war with the states of Cessnia and Liossalde, Soul will now be reopened, but will still be under heavy military defense. Garrisons that have been brought from other regions will now be returned, and any emergency powers the Chancellor had has been given back to the Council.

Also, the Joseon Government has requested a peace to end this "holy war"(that has only been going on for such a long time), due to lack of any real fighting, nor a will to fight. The people of Joseon are sick and tired of this useless conflict(a conflict, which we may remind you, had no official declaration from us, and had no real reason to start other than fake religious rumors).

Many people have also been asking about the state of the Debsian League, and how it has been silent in these matters, and the position the Joseon Confederacy takes on it. The Joseon Confederacy will still be loosely connected to the Debsian League, and concerning the state of the Debsian League and its future goals, those questions should be directed to the Debsian League officials themselves.

Our country, will continue to fight for our peace, order, and prosperity for all its people, and still wishes to remain on friendly grounds with all nations of this planet.
