Gaming League RP
After being postponed and held back due to internal conflicts for nearly a month, the MSF Tournament has been designated to begin tomorrow in Hacot, Hithridge.
In the Green Bracket, Solo will face the Pandas in our first three matches in the morning followed by several minor matches between unranked clubs. In the afternoon, the Spartans will face Shadow, a highly anticipated match between two of the league's biggest clubs. Britteny Ritten of the Spartans came out in an interview stating how proud she was of her fellow teammates for their work in the previous tournament, and are looking to score big yet again in this one.
For those unaware, the Spartans are an all girl club consisting of Britteny Ritten as active team captain, followed by Tarah Bon, Laryn Rhodes, Christina Reake, and break out star Lindsie Vensen. Together the team managed to reach the Finals before being taken down by Shadow. This year they hope to finally take out Shadow in the second game of the first bracket, where the match up system put both teams against eachother at the beginning of the tournament.
Although many newer viewers of the sport are calling this match the 'Match of a Lifetime', older viewers of RGL are looking forward to the Sweats facing off against Hardline, an old bitter rivalry between two tremendously talented clubs. Both are considered the oldest continuous gaming clubs in electronic sports and have deep seeded hatred for eachother, with the two team captains of each team being a former couple until they broke aparted in June of 2014. Since then the two have clashed at various minor tournaments and events, but never really proven who is better. Now they hope to demolish the other in the MSF Tournament.
Now I report gaming news, what am I doing with my life. This is Catherine Dukes, signing off.

Due to a relatively-recent military incident, one involving several members of the Debsian league, much internal focus was placed on the Vilesian military, specifically on how to best raise an army in case of a large scale conflict. While a small voluntary militia force is usually raised in each state, in the context of a possible defensive war against massive, powerful nations such a force seems inadequate. While the recent political climate in New Viles is trending more towards pacifism, the central parliament did pass a quite controversial bill.
The law in question, the Emergency Defense Act, allows for the otherwise nearly powerless president to enact immediate conscription of any adult citizen into the military in case of a defensive war. Though initial parliament reactions were nigh entirely negative, addendums to the bill added additional qualifications for the bill to be enacted, most importantly, a majority vote from the central parliament. Though this assuaged many concerns, there is still a lot of discussion over what exactly the definition of a “defensive war” is.
While many favor a simple definition, simply describing it as a war began after attack from an aggressor force, some have already worriedly brought up the possibilities of a president appealing to the idea of “preemptive defense”, or even a conducting a false flag event in order to wage war.
Though the bill remains controversial, the relatively stable geopolitical climate has a defensive war between New Viles and any other nation to be a far flung possibility, which assuages the worries of many, though it is likely to weigh on the minds of citizens for a considerable amount of time.
