We should leave your quote up as to not erase my mistake, but I deleted my comment. I didn’t think of that at all the time. I just replaced the G and the B to be silly. It turned out to be something offensive. Thanks for calling me out!

All this talk of Population mechanics makes me think that, since it's been a while since it was created and comparative stats may have changed since then, I should go back and revise my NSPopulation-to-RPPopulation conversion dispatch...

Average forest

Hey! New here i guess

Oh, wow, now Middle Barael is up at eleventh. Yay I guess

And Chan Island it seems has closed the gap with the Cypher Nine. It’s strange how much the votes can change so suddenly. Just a few days ago they were neck-in-neck, then the Cypher Nine got a bunch of new votes, and now they’re neck-in-neck again.

Edit: Our own Lon Kra Con is number 2 on the world leaderboard!
Edit #2: Apparently they are not in Forest anymore? Yet they’re still on the map

Unless a major swing occurs, a runoff is almost inevitable. Too close to call. And Garbelia is still No. 0...

You're actually not Forest's first Arachnate. Forniphiliac limbo of inabilis was a far island beyond the archipelago of Ransium. It was shrouded in perpetual mists, but unfortunate ship crews that ran aground there suffered a grisly enslavement. The denonyms were really good but sadly I can't remember them. I believe the motto was "SCREEEECH." High ranking for eco-stats too.

The player behind it was a Brazilian metal fan whose music collection clearly influenced the look and feel of the nation and its fact books. Having the language, they served as Forest's ambassador to Portugal.

EDIT: - hey, it turns out you can retrieve fact books from the Boneyard. Here's one, there are others.

Foreign affairs of inabilis

➵ ◆ It has come to it, and you were the one chosen for the task. Sometimes, one's got to know when to concede and when it is wise to display their willingness to commit. Ill omens seemed to cross your path on your way, making you uneased, yet you braved forth in the name of those who depend on you. And so you continue.

With no immediate source of light in the vicinity, aside from the faint glow of the few stars ahead and the buzzing fireflies through the path you follow along the flooded swampland, you to try to visualize what's ahead of you. Unfortunately, your visibility is minimal. Loud noises can be heard - cracks, ruffling leaves, and what leaves a suggestion of low grows and screeches muffled in the closed, thick vegetation, amid those of the murky, dark waters enveiling your calves. Occasionally, the corner of your eyes meet formless shadows, moving too fast or leaving you wondering if your anxiety and distress betrays your other senses. It is by then, in what you could consider a clearing of sorts, that your sights meet the entrance of what seems to be a cave. Little more than unintelligible markings and symbols can be seen carved on the crude archway of glistening, slick rocks roughly built around the diminute opening. The unmistakable symbol seen on the smudged strands of linen, passable as a banner, atop the archway, however, indicate you're exactly where you need to be. The Voice of the Broodmother lies within. Before you, an oppresive, nearly otherwordly darkness seems to stretch for how long your imagination cannot estimate, and although your falter, you feel as if compelled to drown into such mantle of blackness. You feel pulled, lured into the shadows as if lost into an immense vacuum, beyond your control.

Your distress and struggling seem to cease shortly, however, as your steps lead you ahead; the water seems to go slightly up on the level of your knees. This invisible force and its guidance through the shadows don't seem harmful to you. Instead, it seems like an invitation; a gesture of kindness for any to enter. You do so, regardless of the fact that deep inside, you feel you couldn't deny it. Soon, the darkness ceases, at least partially, in what appears to be the interior of a cave, with its proportions you deem unnexpectedly massive. Ruins and old, forsaken pillars, walls and buildings, crafted in a raw and alien manner, one of rough, blunt edges and bizarre compositions rise from the dead waters, and through them, fair, meak sources of light in distant higher grounds show you are most likely not alone in here - though you're uncertain if that is a good sign. Your contant has to be here, however, anything else, given the circumstances, would seem too unlikely. Or would they?

The rattling, low screeching noises soom can be heard once more, by the time your feet touch the dry soil under the shadow of a wide and sturdy bridge, or what's left of one. Before you, a thick, rusty iron door awaits, on the depths of a constricting, enclosing anteroom. With a loud, twisted noise parting from the decrepit hinges around the large door, it is opened up - the path ahead leading you to a platform right into what you believe to be the heart of the cave. By then, the smell assaults you like a disgruntled back ally mugger. The smell of rot permeated the area and stung at your eyes.

All of the floors of the complex had crumbled and fallen to the point where it ceased to be many floors but instead was now a single room, filled with decayed material and some odd looking resin, in which the faint light of 6 pyres was reflected. In the center of them, a shadowy figure stands. Little can be seen from your distance, but as it approaches, the blazing, crimson sparkle of its eyes seems to steal the breath of your lungs, and your legs suddenly feel limp, ready to take you down. Before you can react, an ancient, deep and androginous voice - or was it many? - parts from it.

" ..Welcome.. The House of Our Queen greets you.. Come forth, now, traveler, for we have much to discuss.."

A loud, banging noise comes from behind you, startling and bring you to your knees.

The door behind you now lies shut.

Wait I should have volunteered to do that shouldn't I? I have that very same specific qualification. Oh well, maybe in the future

Love and Nature wrote:So, do we get a second round started in 1 h or how will the election go on?

As no candidate appears to have the roughly 30 votes needed for a majority, and with now about 40 minutes or so to go, we can anticipate a run-off election being started between the two candidates with the most votes as soon as the final vote tally has been counted and voter eligibilities verified. That run-off election will last three days, just like this one, and will end with whichever candidate receives more votes being declared the winner. In the unlikely event of a tie in the run-off election, the tie-breaking vote will go to our XWAD, Ruinenlust.

~::~Official~Regional~Elections~Post~::~

Dear Friends,

Our Forest Keeper Election of March 2021 has officially extended into April, with our special runoff election between the two candidates who have secured the most votes:

The Concordant Stratum of The Cypher Nine, and
Chan island!

Like the poll that just concluded, the runoff will be up for three days, and only the votes of the nations from the list on Mon. Mar. 22nd will be counted towards the final result. Should there be a tie, I will cast the tie-breaking vote, as detailed in our Constitution.

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation for everyone who has taken part in our electoral process in any capacity. In particular, I would like to acknowledge our Election Officers, who have been very active and from whom I have benefitted tremendously in the running and observing of the Electoral Period as it has progressed.

We will have our new Forest Keeper in three days, and with it, we will fully embark on the new chapter of Forest's old growth history. May the forests, both here and on our own Earth, never fall.

If I may: it has been a distinct pleasure to play this role in the election. I feel extremely honored to be performing this rather unique function for a region that has existed for such a long time, and as much as I would love to have involved in other ways for this election, the currents of fate have moved in other directions, and it's been a lot of fun on my end, despite my rookie mistakes along the way. :-)

Some really great factbook entries there! I vaguely recognise the name, but I don't think we ever interacted and I certainly didn't place them as the nation ruled by giant spiders you mentioned a day or so ago. Ultimately I have you to thank for the inspiration!

EDIT: I should add that I'm not able, for IC reasons, to share any of my Terrabodian lore, so I hope to use this nation to do some serious worldbuilding. This will be the first hardcore worldbuilding I've ever done so I'll definitely need help from the experts amongst you!

The other option, particularly for worldbuilding that may not be finalised and as such you don't want to put public on NS, is to write it all down somewhere else. I have a whole folder on my computer filled with Lura stuff, some of which belongs to now-abandoned ideas or just isn't complete enough to put out there.

Yus, this is exactly what I'm starting with! I think it's a good way to ensure I put some proper thought into it and redraft until the pieces work well together instead of making it up as I go and contradicting myself.

Remember friends that this may be a close election, but with that in mind don't just look at the raw numbers of the poll. Already, I've noticed one ineligible voter. Keep track and refer to Ruinenlust's list of eligible voters below to keep an accurate running tally. And may I say, Forest would be proud to have either candidate as Forest Keeper. Good luck to you both!
