Woke assembly? What did the World Assembly do wrong today?
Existing is what it's done wrong.
Well apparently #CancelYohannes has become a thing for reasons that remain, in true Woke fashion, utterly nebulous and full of innuendo.
Probably better overall that most don't know, at the moment.
And yet people are being expected to, essentially, cancel this individual based on "oh we can't tell you what they did but trust me it's bad"?
If they've done something bad, fine, I'm sure there are proper avenues to deal with that.
But from my perspective it looks like a witch-hunt led by people who don't even have the decency to explain why they feel their witch hunt is necessary.
As a note, what happened is publicly available for example on The North Pacific's forums, although I believe site rules wouldn't permit going into detail on-site.
Or maybe perhaps most people didn’t bother to read through the entire proposal or look deeper into what really happened. Probably blindly following the crowd and voting for the side which has the most supporters, without even trying to fully understand the situation.

Thank you all for my enjoyable time in GD. However, I can’t really get into RP and it’s probably just not my thing. I will move to the UCN, but I’ll still cherish my memories I made here as my first home region in NationStates. Thanks for everything :)

This is a slap in the face from the WA to every Castillian. Our avant-garde cinema and Bohemian literary scene is second to none, clearly we are the most cultured. Given these findings, the Castillian Federation will exit the World Assembly and cease its membership.
You'll need more than a few turtleneck-wearing hipsters watching quasi-pornographic films in dingy basements while sniffing each other's farts to out-compete Tangatarehua's thousands of years of cultural uniqueness.

In OOC news, I'm actually thinking of starting a new nation because I'm getting bored of Tangatarehua.
If you're bored, have a coup! Or burn down half the nation! Go out with a bang!

If Tangatarehua had a large enough natural disaster, then it could enable you to make major changes to the culture there, on the slim chance that you want to keep the nation but make changes therein.
The idea is still very embryonic at this stage but what I'm toying with is the idea of something that's a little more like Radiatia, but less overpowered.
The problem I'm having with Tangatarehua is a) the geography isn't interesting to me and b) it's too sane.
I want to be able to write totally outlandish, absurdist articles but the kinds of things I have in mind wouldn't work in a society as orderly and (dare I say it) cultured as Tangatarehua.
I'm currently leaning toward the idea of something Eurasian or Silk Road inspired.
Or you could use Homofront idea; repressed sexual deviants looking for more representation versus the traditional conservative masses. The idea was tossed around for a bit but not much came out of it.
I don't think I'm quite the right player to do justice to an idea like that.
