The Summit

The Italians were the crucial attendees. Damilier spent much of this day acutely aware her own party was planning to kick her from office, but Mussolini didn't, couldn't know that. She and Mussolini met in the North Tower of the Castle, the duo had the room entirely to themselves.

"Welcome," she greeted warmly.

ANTANANARIVO | For decades, the Malagasy economy has been hanging on a spider web. Rampant corruption in the government motivated by weak law enforcement and judicial court, as well as a negligible infrastructure base are the main impediments to economic development, acknowledged by the international community and President Andry Rajoelina. Attempting to stamp out the significant, core issue, corruption, the national Parliament answered to this issue by passing two bills; the first provided a legal basis to the establishment of the Corruption Extinctification Ministry; the second established budget transparency.

The Ministry of Corruption Extinctification announced this morning sets its aim to combat and eradicate corruption in all governmental levels, including the court. However the effectiveness of this ministry in carrying out the tasks within its capacity is doubted by the populous. Many contended that the passing of the bill itself is a sign that the ministry was established as a mere morale booster. Only time will tell.

Kumandjoe was appointed by President Andry directly as the first head of the ministry.

ISTANA REPUBLIK, BANDAR SINGORA, CAPITAL OF THE KRA REPUBLIC

9TH MAY, THIRD DAY OF ASSAULT

President Fadil bin Shaahir has personally thanked the administration of Joko Widodo and the Indonesian people for their aid rendered to the Republic of Kra, in his first public appearance in an emergency broadcast to the people of the nation since the Thai Dai offensive began on the national capital three days ago, on the 6th of May. In his speech, he states that "the people of both our Republics are brothers" and that "this service rendered to us by your brave soldiers will never, ever be forgotten." He went on to praise the tenacity of Kra Army forces currently combating insurgent forces without air or artillery support, and the citizens of Bandar Singora that have ignored the rhetoric of the insurgents and come out to aid the Kra Armed Forces in providing information, food, and shelter to exhausted troops. He also accused the elders of the ruling United Malay-Thai National League for retreating out of the capital at first opportunity, taking their personal security forces and funds with that could have been utilized in the defense of the capital, officially stripping them of their titles and regulating them to house arrest. Pattani Republican divisions were at the time concurrently moving to apprehend the traitors, and most have been caught and accounted for.

Party Speaker Bilaal bin Humaidaan has in turn claimed that the President was placing them under arrest only because he refused their class to closer integrate Kra military activities to that of the Indonesian Force in the Republic, and condemned him of having his own, selfish agenda. Such accusations have been swiftly denied by the Kra Presidential Service, which asked the elders to conjure a better defense.

President bin Shaahir has also thanked the Republic of Korea in a separate telegram to President Kim, and will be dispatching Vice President Bintang bin Shaahir to Seoul to discuss the possibility of Korean diplomatic backing against Siam in Kra claims to the southern Siamese territories, and to take delivery of the two Daegu-class frigates, which have been named KDS Merdeka and KDS Kera. Another telegram dispatched to Beijing but not signed by the President congratulated the new Chinese Empress on her ascent to the throne, but asked the Chinese to "keep their nose out of South East Asian affairs."

PROCLAMATION FROM THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF THAILAND

AS OF 9TH MAY, 2020, ALL ADMINISTRATIVE APPARATUSES OF THE PROVINCE OF SURAT THANI ARE TO BE RESTORED

Comrades, friends ;

The Samui island chain, currently under full control of the Thai Dai movement, have voted overwhelmingly to join the Socialist People's Republic of Thailand as the Province of Surat Thani, considered by the Supreme People's Congress to be under foreign occupation since 1945. The people on these islands, ethnically Thai in blood, and Thai in culture, have long suffered from the oppression of Bandar Singora. They have had their language, their voice, and their land stolen from them for development as tourist attractions to benefit the central government, and solely the central government. Therefore, the National Assembly has voted unanimously to adopt Resolution KPT 2020H, which will officially return the Samui chain to Thai sovereignty in nearly eight decades, and admits the entry of Surat Thani into the People's Republic as the 28th Province. The resolution also returns all the land robbed from the people of the islands at the gunpoint of Kra arms, and also confers upon them full citizenship and with that the right to utilize the SPRT healthcare and educational system for free. The Department of Education has already allocated $45 million dollars to build three elementary and two secondary schools on Ko Samui, the principal island. The Socialist People's Republic wishes for the international community to recognize this rightful retrocession of historically Thai territory, and wishes to deter any reprisal operations by the Kra Republic and her allies with the knowledge that the People's Republic has already established a substantial military presence on the islands, and an attack on them would be an act of war.

Red Saturday
The noise of the crowd was deafening as cheers and shouts erupted as the front portions of the protest broke through the police barrier just 200m from the Kurdish Presidential Palace where Biryar Niyat was hiding. The Parliament had been taken days before without much fanfare or resistance, as the main target remained the body of Niyat himself. In their 9-day siege of Erbil the rioters had grown used to the sound of gunfire, and the familiar noise of bullets cutting through the air over the heads of protesters failed to deter them. This crowd had grown angry. Days of being picked off by government snipers had incited them with a deep burning hatred of anyone wearing the blue insignia of the Kurdish Army. Besides that, they were hungry and tired, effectively living of what little goods were driven to them by YPG soldiers breaking through the loose exclusion zone set up in the city. With a roar the crowd tore through the barriers, leaping over sandbags and engaging in hand to hand combat with police and soldiers. Most of the police and a few soldiers had by now either surrendered or actually joined the rioters, and the stones and metal bars of the rioters were supplemented with weapons stolen from the dead, along with the occasional YPG soldier attempting to keep some sort of direction. The entire crowd was now moving in one single direction, despite shots from snipers ripping into men, women and children. The walls surrounding the palace were 11ft high and made of stone, now supplemented by hastily placed barbed wire, and the main gate was enforced by thick wooden doors with steel layers. Ladders stolen from construction sites were being passed overhead like a rockstar at a festival. As the crowd surged to the walls, beating the remaining guards, YPG officers took the ladders and set up assault points. It was a situation of organised chaos directed by the communist soldiers. There was a sudden quiet as the protesters took a moment to realise what might happen in the next 20 minutes, and then a thick cacophony of noise as they gave their support to those in front. Asan Hardi stood with his back to the wall, considering making a speech to the crowd before realising this would only attract the attention of gunmen. With a thumbs up, he gave the order to attack.

First over the wall were some of the most furious rioters - hot-blooded hooligans who were more than happy to take the first round of fire. As they climbed over the wall Hardi could hear the sound of machine gun fire from inside the building. Then came the YPG itself - armed with AK-47s and hand grenades - the 'shock troops' of the attack in comparison to some of the other groups in the protest. Hardi himself came over in this group, and as he jumped over the wall he finally saw the situation in the square. The gardens of the palace had been torn apart as the square became a 'death zone' for the attackers. The communist soldiers shot the remaining government personnel sprinting into the palace for safety, whilst they themselves took heavy fire from above. After the YPG came more angry rioters who set upon the injured soldiers, hacking them to death with rudimentary weapons. Rioters turned their attention to the doors, and with a roar the gates of the palace were opened and the street itself seemed to empty into the square. Light artillery weapons were hauled into the gardens and began to fire. Hardi saw a shell rip into one of the upstairs studies, engulfing the room in flame. Then the weapons were set on the doors, firing until all that was left was ash and silence from within. The crowd streamed into the building, led by Hardi and his YPG troops.

Sergeant Perwer made his way into the kitchen, accompanied by three other soldiers and two men holding what appeared to be clubs fashioned from the metal casing of a broken phone box. He could hear movement from inside so with one swift motion he unpinned and tossed in a grenade, which went off with an almighty crash, before bursting in and firing his automatic weapon. An elderly woman lay dead on the floor, blood dripping from her skull onto the red tiles she lay on. On the other side of the room however, a man lay murmuring. An M14 assault rifle lay out of arms reach, and the clothes on his abdomen had been burnt away. Perwer screamed in Kurdish "Biryar Niyat li kû ye?" but all he received back was a gurgling sound. He was put out of his misery by a rifle round by one of Perwer's men. The sound of gunshots was beginning to die down as the palace was secured - but yet no sign of Niyat. Hardi strode into the kitchen, saluting Perwer and gesturing for the two non-YPG men to leave. Hardi ordered the men to search the room for signs of a hidden bolthole and they obliged, tapping on the floors and walls for signs of a hollow cavity. But there was nothing to be found, until one of the men started pulling open drawers in frustration. As he pulled open what appeared to be a larger cupboard in the kitchen island, he found it stuck fast. Perwer began to kick at the wood until eventually it splintered and caved open. Using a torch, the men could see stone steps leading down into darkness. They yelled for Hardi, "were vir giştî!" and climbed down into the hole. It was eerily quiet compared to the noise of the crowd above, and as they climbed down they found themselves in a tunnel, cut into the stone and stretching as far as their torchlight could see. President Niyat had escaped.

Meanwhile, on the balcony of the presidential palace Asan Hardi stood facing the cheering crowd, as the yellow banner of the YPG and the red banner of revolution were raised alongside the flag of Basurwelat. Hardi spoke to the crowd: "Em, xelk, serfiraz in. Ev roj dê her û her wek roja emiyê ya sor were zanîn, ji ber ku me hêza xwe li ser çarenûsa xwe girtiye. Ev destpêka Komara Gel a Basurwelat e!"(We, the people, are victorious. This day will forever be known as red saturday, because we have taken power over our own destiny. 2 more people have been killed by the novel coronavirus. In the largest growth in a singular day, 415 new cases have been recorded, 7,208 are infected now, about 73% of Iraq's total cases. The mortality rate in Kuwait currently stands at 0.7%, compared to the less of Iraq. Governor of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, is summoned to the President's office on short notice.

"Sabah, I thank you for coming here on short notice. I have a question to ask you," President al-Farsi states.

"Yes, President." Al-Khalid responds with.

"Al-Khalid, are you aware of how inept you have handled the COVID-19 outbreak in your governorate? You're doing a terrible job, and I'm disappointed in you. I ask of you to give management of the COVID-19 outbreak in Kuwait to Hassan Mohammed Abbas Salman, my health minister who is competent."

"No, I will not hand over my position! Whatever is coming, I can handle it. We're totally prepared, we have the best doctors in Iraq. You are a shortsighted and foolish communist, sir, and the same applies to everyone in your cabinet."

"You are to leave my office now and return to your decaying governorate. A more competent person will handle it, inshallah, nay, not inshallah, mashallah. Get out before you cough on me." Al-Farsi sternly says. Al-Khalid leaves the office. Al-Farsi walks downstairs to his secretary. "Summon Najah al-Shammari and Falih Al-Fayyadh to my office immediately," He orders before going back into his office. Falih Al-Fayyadh, Chairman of Popular Mobilization Committee enters first, followed by al-Shammari, the defense minister. "I want you two to temporarily depose Governor al-Khalid of Kuwait and replace him with the health minister so he can properly handle COVID-19 there. It may be undemocratic, but democracy doesn't matter in this situation. Have al-Khalid removed by Friday of next week. That's all, you may leave."

The two ministers nod and walk out.

Board of Revenues - Encrypted

The Board of Revenues congratulates the YPG in establishing the People's Republic of Basurwelat.

The Board has liaised with various private companies across the Zhen, all of whom are interested in investing and/or expanding operations into Basurwelat.

Sinopec, the world's largest oil refining, gas and petrochemical conglomerate, has expressed its request and interest in constructing a $560 million ZGD oil refinery near in the outskirts of Erbil. It is also interested in expanding operations to the Duhok region, with the construction of a small ethanol plant in the city.

Sinofert has also asked for government approval to construct a fertilizer plant in Duhok, which is expected to produce organic and phosphate-based fertilizers. Production is expected to be around 100 tonnes per day, with a projected increase in increments of 5 tonnes per week until it reaches peak capacity of 1,200 tonnes.

COFCO's ZhenCo brand, the Zhen's premier Cola-based soft drink created from citrus oils, cinnamon, vanilla, syrups, and acidic flavours, will reportedly be interested in exporting the drink to Basurwelat, as well as construct a bottling and syrup plant in Duhok to allow its exportation into the Middle East.

Kurdish Response
The most senior YPG economic advisor, Azan Jaziri, has responded to the offers of investment from the Zhen Board of Revenues with pleasure. Jaziri stated: "We thank the Zhen for their offers of investment and once we have properly set up the Ministry of Industry & Agriculture we assure Sinopec, Sinofert and ZhenCo that their projects will be approved, though we must stress that Sinopec, or any other petroleum company, will never be granted exploration rights or the right to extract crude oil from Kurdistan. We thank the Zhen Board of Revenues for their faith in the People's Republic and the Revolution, and I am sure we will continue to be firm partners for years to come."

Detailed economic policy for the new government has not yet been released, but Jaziri, a leading Kurdish economist forced into hiding by the regime due to socialist sympathies, is expected to assume a leading role, along with representatives from the current Kurdish Socialist Party and the YPG. The YPG have been pressured to support land redistribution and private ownership for the poor locals, as their support base is amongst rural poor farmers. This may temper some of the more collectivist ambitions of some leading intellectuals on the Kurdish left.

An interrogation cell in Hilton South, Port Jackson City. Constable Christopher 'Robbo' Robinson and Constable Richard 'Butch' Stone had recently arrested bulky Papuan Jonas Paul, who had been identified as a key member of the NSA Dubbo sinking, and a number of gang murders in Port Jackson City. Following is the dialogue between the officers and the criminal.

|Constable Christopher 'Robbo' Robinson:| "I'm Constable Christopher Robinson, and this is Constable Richard Stone. Do you know why you are here?
|Jonas Paul:| "I'm innocent."
|Constable Richard 'Butch' Stone:| "We didn't ask if you were innocent, we asked if you know why you're here. Now answer the question."
|Paul:| "I'm here because Australia is an imperialist bugger, a lot like your shifty friends like Europe and America."

(The two Constables look at each other. Butch nods as Robbo turns off the recording device)

|Butch:| "This is all dinky die, don't pull any tricks on us. You got that, c*nt?" Paul, handcuffed to the table, tries to stand up. Robbo whips out his batton, and stares Paul right in the eyes.
|Robbo:| "Sit down, bastard."
|Paul:| "You guys are sick..."
|Robbo:| "You guys are sicker..."
|Paul:| "What gave you crackers the right to waltz into my country and shoot us up. You little sh*ts killed my whole f*cking family back in 1975. Remember 1975? We're returning the favour."
|Butch:| "You're lucky to be part of Australia..."
|Paul:| "When did I ask?"
|Butch:| "Listen here, mate, don't give us any attitude, got it? We're not here to f*ck spiders."
|Paul:| "You people killed my family, now we're going to kill yours. We will not stop... I will not stop, until every cracker in Papua New Guinea has their guts sprawled across the lands like you did to my people. Ask me what you want, I ain't giving you no answers."

Butch looks around, before pulling out his taser. He steps closer to Paul.

|Butch:| "It's not that hard, mate, we're just going to ask a few questions, and all you have to do is answer. Then you can enjoy your arvo in peace. Now, state your name, age, place of residence."
|Paul:| "John Paul, 49, Hilton South."
|Robbo:| "Righto, that's all fair dinkum. Now, like we said, we just want to suss things out. Don't be a smart ass. Now, do you have any links with Vengeance?"
|Paul:| "Yeah"
|Robbo:| "And you admit to planning and carrying through the sinking of NSA Dubbo?"
|Paul:| "Sure did."
|Robbo:| "You admit to killing a total of 50 people over the last few months?"
|Paul:| "Would have liked to do more but yeah pretty much."
|Robbo:| "And you admit to crimes against the Federation?"
|Paul:| "Yeah mate. F*ck your sh*tty little country. The more citizens I kill, the closer Papua New Guinea is to freedom. It's a price you have to pay, for what you did to us."

(Robbo and Butch looked at each other, before looking back at Paul. Robbo swiped his baton at Paul, hitting him over the head. Butch tasered him. Robbo hit Paul over the back of the head with the baton, and Butch slammed his head into the table. The duo continued to bash the man, punching and kicking and beating him, even after he went unconsious. The two officers then leave the room, locking the door behind him. The lights were turned out, and the men left the complex.

Росси́я сего́дня - Rossiya Segodnya - Russia Today
President Vladimir Putin addresses the world on Victory Day
May 10, 2020

Federal City of Moscow

Yesterday, Russia celebrated its 75th Victory Day with a massive parade in Moscow. The parade included over 80,000 soldiers and was witnessed by millions of Russians across the country. Following the parade, marking the 75th anniversary of the triumph over Germany and Japan, President Putin addressed the Federation, and the World, with a short yet stirring speech. Below is a transcript of the speech in full.

Fellow citizens of Russia, dearest veterans, distinguished guests, comrade soldiers and seamen.

I congratulate you all on the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War! Today, when we mark this sacred anniversary, we once again appreciate the enormous scale of victory over Nazism. We are proud that it was our own fathers and grandfathers who succeeded in prevailing against that dark force. Hitler's reckless adventure became a tough lesson for the entire world. At that time, in the 1930s, the enlightened Europe failed to see the deadly threat in the Nazi ideology. Today, seventy-five years later, the history calls again to our wisdom and vigilance. We must not forget that the ideas of racial supremacy and exclusiveness had provoked the bloodiest war ever. The war affected almost 80 percent of the world population. Many European nations were enslaved and occupied. Russia bore the brunt of the enemy's attacks. The elite Nazi forces were brought to bear on it. All their military power was concentrated against it. And all major decisive battles of World War II, in terms of military power and equipment involved, had been waged there. And it is no surprise that it was us, the invincible Russian people that, by taking Berlin in a crushing attack, delivered the final blow to Hitler's Germany finishing the war. Our entire multi-ethnic nation rose to fight for our Motherland’s freedom. Everyone bore the severe burden of the war. Together, our people made an immortal exploit to save the country. They predetermined the outcome of World War II. They liberated European nations from the Nazis. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, wherever they live today, should know that here, in Russia, we highly value their fortitude, courage and dedication to frontline brotherhood.

Dear friends, the great victory will always remain a heroic pinnacle in the history of our country. But we also pay tribute to our former allies in the coalition against Hitler and his evil ideal. We are grateful to the people of Britain, of the United Provinces and of the Confederacy for their contribution to the victory. We are thankful to the partisans of various countries who selflessly fought the enemy as guerrillas and members of the underground resistance, including in Germany itself. We remember the historical meeting on the Elbe, and the trust and unity that became our common legacy and an example of unification of peoples – for the sake of peace and stability. It is precisely these values that became the foundation of the post-war world order. The United Nations came into existence. And the system of the modern international law has emerged. These institutions have proved in practice their effectiveness in resolving disputes and conflicts.

However, in the last decades, the basic principles of international cooperation have come to be increasingly ignored. These are the principles that have been hard won by mankind as a result of the ordeal of the war. We saw attempts to establish a unipolar world. We see the strong-arm block thinking gaining momentum. All that undermines sustainable global development. The creation of a system of equal security for all states should become our common task. Such system should be an adequate match to modern threats, and it should rest on a regional and global non-block basis. Only then will we be able to ensure peace and tranquility on the planet.

Dear friends, today we salute all our foreign comrades while expressing a particular gratitude to the representatives of the countries that fought against Nazism and Japanese militarism. China was also the main front in the fight against militarism in Asia. Indian soldiers fought courageously against the Nazis as well. Serbian troops also offered strong and relentless resistance to the fascists. Throughout the war our country received strong support from Mongolia. These parade ranks include grandsons and great-grandsons of the war generation. The Victory Day is our common holiday. The Great Patriotic War was in fact the battle for the future of the entire humanity. Our fathers and grandfathers lived through unbearable sufferings, hardships and losses. They worked till exhaustion, at the limit of human capacity. They fought even unto death. They proved the example of honor and true patriotism. We pay tribute to all those who fought to the bitter for every street, every house and every frontier of our Motherland. We bow to those who perished in severe battles near Moscow and Stalingrad, at the Kursk Bulge and on the Dnieper. We bow to those who died from famine and cold in the unconquered Leningrad, to those who were tortured to death in concentration camps, in captivity and under occupation. We bow in loving memory of sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, grandfathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, comrades-in-arms, relatives and friends – all those who never came back from war, all those who are no longer with us.

Dear veterans, you are the main heroes of the Great Victory Day. Your feat predestined peace and decent life for many generations. It made it possible for them to create and move forward fearlessly. And today your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren live up to the highest standards that you set. They work for the sake of their country's present and future. They serve their Fatherland with devotion. They respond to complex challenges of the time with honor. They guarantee the successful development, might and prosperity of our Motherland, our Russia!

Long live the victorious people!

MINISTRY OF DEFENCE SIGNS CONTRACT FOR EQUIPMENT MODERNISATION

The Ministry of Defence and a conglomeration of Bulgarian defence companies signed an agreement today for the modernisation of reserve military equipment, to be brought back into regular service following recent legislative changes. The government identified the poor state of the Armed Forces a key and pressing issue facing the nation in an address a few weeks ago, and has been a priority of President Vasilev since winning the election in 2019. In a storage unit in Montana, mass amounts of equipment left from the rapid decline of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in the 1990s and early 2000s sits unused, and it has been deemed more economically and budgetarily appropriate to seek to refurbish, modernise and extend the lifespan of this equipment, rather than seek newer, more expensive equipment. A reason given by the Chief-of-Staff General Varbakov was that more senior members of the Armed Forces are also familiar with the equipment, and that modernising would not require a new training span for recruits, thus cutting costs down to a minimum. In reaction to this, the MoD will be assessing former military installations with the interest of rebuilding and reinstating these centres for use by the newly expanding military. The list of facilities has not been made public, though rumours suggest that 3 airbases will be reopened and 2 army camps along the borders with Serbia and Turkey will be reinstated.

NUCLEAR POWER PROJECTS COMPLETED

Following months of work, BulgarAtom has confirmed the completion of the Kozludoy and Belene NPP in the north of the country. Combined, they are expected to cover over 60% of national electrical consumption, and have been hailed as a landmark achievement for the nation in the 21st century. President Vasilev, accompanied by supervising directors of the plants, toured the complexes today, where the President commented that the plants "showed the great potential of Bulgarian engineering and science, and will lead the way forward for our nation". The plants, funded in part by the European Union, will become the primary source of energy for the nation, and have now made the Maritsa-Iztok plants largely obsolete. It is unclear what will happen to the large coal-fired complex, though rumours of it's demolition or even conversion to a nuclear power station have been circulating upper levels of the Bulgarian body politic. To complement this, Bulgarian mining companies have restarted uranium mining in Sozopol, with the intention of providing a fresh supply of fuel for the plants. The government when asked about the supplies of uranium already being kept in storage around Sofia, commented that "they will be put to good use, and will remain in Bulgaria despite foreign interest". The plants are expected to become operational within the next few weeks.

POPULATION DIVIDED OVER RUSSIA RELATIONS

Following one of biggest disasters for Bulgarian-Russian relations recently, the population has become divided over the issue, and the topic has become a large point of controversy across the nation. At the Victory Day celebrations in Sofia, many were seen to be waving Russian and Soviet flags, indicating that the national mood is still one of Russophilia, particularly amongst the older generations. Despite support for the European Union remaining high, attitudes towards the West as the principle ally for Bulgaria are and have been low since the fall of Communism in 1989. This is furthered by the government, as many members of the more senior institutions and organs have expressed pro-Russian sentiment, and have consistently identified these sentiments even during their time in power. Bulgaria remains a nation divided between the new world and the old, and many are still unsure of which way to turn.

RUSSIAN SPY CONVICTED, ARRESTS MADE ON ACCOMPLICE

The controversial and groundbreaking trial of Charlotte Atkinson concluded today, with Ms Atkison being found guilty of espionage charges and sentenced to life imprisonment. Ms Atkinson was seen crying at the deliverance of the sentence, but received no support from the cheering crowds both within the Crown Court and those gathered outside. This case has been the first of it's kind for many years, and the first in a while where a spy has been publicly caught and tried in the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Cornwallis commented, "Let this be a sign to Russia that we will not tolerate such acts in our great nation, and that if there are more, we will find them". Ms Atkinson was taken from the Crown Court back to her holding cell, but will be transported to a high-security facility in the next few days for internment. Ms Atkinsons family expressed "great shock" at the findings of the case, and were "heartbroken and distraught" at their daughters actions. No member of the family has given any statements to the press. Vitaly Krupkin, the supposed accomplice of Ms Atkinson, was arrested in Norfolk early this morning by East Anglia Police. Krupkin was found attempting to flee the United Kingdom on a fishing trawler headed for the North Sea. His trial is expected to begin within the week.

ROYAL NAVY RECEIVE NEW FRIGATES

The first three Type 26 frigates ordered have arrived to the Royal Navy for induction after years of construction. The Type 26 will be newest and most advanced frigate ever built for the Royal Navy, and is part of a larger push for rearmament in the United Kingdom. The ships, names HMS Glasgow, HMS Cardiff and HMS Belfast, are expected to be operational within a few weeks, and the further 8 frigates are being commissioned immediately. The Royal Navy has also begun construction on the HMS Britannia, the newest and largest aircraft carrier of the United Kingdom, as well as new submarines and new destroyers. The build-up has been in direct response to perceived Russian aggression towards the United Kingdom, events that were sorely reminded during the VE Day celebrations, as many found it difficult to find any words of support or friendship for the Russian Federation following the incident in the North Sea not 2 weeks ago. The arrival of new frigates also harkens the retirement of older ships, which have been promised to allies of the United Kingdom. These now obsolete ships will be kept operational until the replacement vessels are fully inducted, and will be then sold to these unnamed allies, which is expected to take place in the next month.

Jae-hyun woke up that morning, not intending to go out or do anything of particular interest. That was until he got a text from his new friend, Jin-tae.

The vote is today
Come to the bar

It wasn't like he had anything else planned. He'd gotten a month off of work, his contracts put on hold. His bosses weren't exactly happy when he came out, but three of the dramas he would be on couldn't afford to find someone else to play his role.

When he got to the bar, it was even more crowded than he'd ever seen it. Folks from across the city--lesbians, gays, drag queens, bisexuals and everything in between were packed into the small space, staring at the TV. It was a politics channel which played live recordings of government functions. Normally, no one watched, but today was different. Jin-tae waved Jae-hyun over; he was standing at a corner of the bar by one of the TVs.

"Am I late?" he asked.
"No, you're good. They're just starting now."

The next minutes were torture. By the time the vote was 180 in favor, the crowd was loosing it.

All hell broke loose when it hit 191--109

They'd won

People screamed and cheered as the speaker of the assembly boomed over the microphone "Vote to legalize same-sex marriage: passed."

Jin-tae kissed him, Jae-hyun laughed. A woman hugged her girlfriend and kissed him on the cheek, leaving a red stain from her lip stick.

In gayborhoods and bars across Korea, the LGBTQ movement was celebrating a massive victory. People cried, lovers kissed, friends hugged.

And in the wake of a rain storm from earlier that day

A rainbow gleamed over Seoul

Independent Italian Journalists publish Exposé on COVID-19 Origin

After pursuing leads & hunting down sources for months. An independent Journalist company has recently released a full Exposé which details the origin & eventual outbreak of COVID-19. The following will be a synopsis of the controversial document:

"We start with the company known as Yang Biotech, founded by Yin Guohan. But first, let us go back to 2003 during the SARS outbreak in China. After confirming with several anonymous sources that were close to the Zhen Government. We can confidently say that the Zhen Government understood how much of a threat the coronavirus was under the SARS strain. Thus they gave permission to their military to begin privately funding research programs aimed at studying the various Coronaviruses. We then move forward to 2015 during the MERS outbreak. At this point, the Military decides to shift the program from one focused on research to one that actively focuses on developing a vaccine to combat both MERS & SARS. Thus they receive greater funding from the Government & accelerate the program. The program is still tightly kept under wraps, remaining accessible to only top military & scientist personnel. The Military had to focus on research development for equipment & could no longer actively pursue the virus project. Hence a billion-dollar contract was awarded to Yang Biotech. They would undertake the project of researching & developing a vaccine to these viruses but they would accomplish this privately so as to keep the project secretive. However, as time went on the company began to falter & became grossly mismanaged. Incompetency reached the highest levels. After countless hours of research & various interviews with ex-researchers. We can confirm that this incompetency led to the modern COVID-19 virus escaping the Biotech lab which was located in the epicenter of the Pandemic. Naturally, the company attempted to cover up the outbreak as admitting to it would possibly result in lawsuits, & a possible destruction of the entire company. Unfortunately, this led the virus to grow out of hand until we reached the present situation. This is why we should hold the Zhen & Yang Biotech responsible for the damage they've incurred to humanity all over the world! We should NOT tolerate this injustice. This incompetency of the highest order costed THOUSANDS of Italians their lives & countless more across the globe!"

This report immediately sparked outrage across Italia as many demanded that justice be handed out. President Mussolini had no comment on the situation. However, Foreign Minister Meloni stated,

"We will work with the Zhen Dynasty to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to punish those responsible for such incompetency. We will not let such a grave report go unnoticed"

Basurwelat

Government declared
A government has been officially created for the People's Republic of Basurwelat. The new government will be led by a Politburo composed of the following individuals:
·Asan Hardi (Premier - YPG)
·Karimi Bêkes (Finance Director - YPG)
·Azan Jaziri (Industrial Director - YPG)
·Cemal Xanî (Rural Affairs Director - YPG)
·Kawa Bidlisi (Director of Health & Education - PSK)
·Nazand Saleh (Justice Director - HLK)
·Aynur Mirzo (Foreign Relations Advisor - YPG)
·Keça Yuksel (Welfare & Social Security Advisor - PSK)
·Ebrahim Ehmed (Defence Chief - YPG)
·Najiba Baksî (Infrastructure Director - PSK)

Also serving on the Politburo in a temporary advisory capacity are the 3 most senior military leaders in the YPG and 2 of Basurwelat's most respected economists.

The YPG have been forced to include members of the Socialist Party of Kurdistan (PSK) and the Liberal Kurdish Alliance (HLK) over fears of a military dominance of Basurwelat. The key tasks of the new government will be the creation of a new constitution, which Hardi has already promised will be put to the people in a referendum, along with military victory against the PNM and the capture of Biryar Niyat, who currently still occupy Sulaymaniah and Kirkuk, and economic reconstruction to fulfil the promises of the revolution. There is also a fear amongst the PSK and HLK that the YPG will become the national military force, which would ensure the predominance of the YPG above any other opposition groups. However attempts to create a national army are futile in the current climate with YPG units engaged in active combat and no real alternative military structure. Nazand Saleh will no doubt focus on the establishment of a national police force independent of the YPG to provide an alternative power base to challenge the monopoly on legal violence that the YPG currently possesses, in its eyes at least.

Taoiseach Eimear Ni Liongsigh addressed the nation again today ahead of June 2020. "Fir agus mná, buchailli, cailini, agus gach saghas duine eile. Oiche mhaith. Men and women, boys, girls, and everyone else. Good evening. This week has been yet another stressful week for the country but we need to continue to pull together by staying apart. The purpose of my address today is not actually to speak to you about the pandemic so I will keep it short regarding that for today. I wanted to speak to you today to express my sincere gratitude to you for the support you have shown the Government and I and the rest of the Dáil too over the last five years ahead of our very unique General Election in June. Firstly, Covid-19. This week, a further 4,496 people have recovered which is good but it is not the number we were expecting it to be, we were expecting it to be much higher. A further 3,028 deaths have occurred which means 207,929 cases remain active. This is not ideal. It is progress but it's much slower than expected which means we need you continue observing the measures in place until we do start to see a sharp reduction in the number of active cases and measures have been eased or even lifted. I just want to take the opportunity to say we will not be putting in place a system of phasing the country back to work, we frankly think that is a stupid system. We will keep all measures in place until good hygiene can be maintained everywhere. Now, enough of that and onto what I do want to talk to you about tonight. The Government you elected in 2015 had been in power for 5 years and been majorly unsuccessful but due to your support and utter trust in us, you elected us again in 2015 for a second term in Government. For that, I thank you. Thank you very much for supporting the trusting us throughout our two unsuccessful terms in Government. Go raibh maith agaibh go leir. This month, we will see many faces continue to lead their Parties all hoping to win a Majority and have their leader elected Taoiseach and many faces will be leaving us. Most of them will be retiring but not all. I am not retiring from Politics but Irish Law prevents Party Leaders holding Office of Taoiseach for any more than two full terms, mine of which are up on 3 June 2020 so I can't run again. I will be around, I hope to be in Parliament, but I cannot lead the Party to another victory, assuming we are successful again in 2020 so I am stepping down and my colleague Sam Hackett has been elected the new Leader of Republican Sinn Fein by us Party members to lead us to another victory in June 2020. We do need you to continue to support us. Sam Hackett is a fine young man, the youngest Leader we have ever elected since foundation in 1986 but the reason he got the role is because he is good and if you still trust us to run your country, please do trust we made the right decision in electing him Leader and show him your support in June 2020. The only reason I am still Taoiseach is because I was Party Leader when we were elected in 2015 which is currently the last election to have been run in the nation but your new leader now is Sam so he needs your help just as I did ten years ago when I was the then youngest Leader of the Party. We will also be saying goodbye to the Leader of the Socialist Workers Network, Faith Chan, who is retiring from Politics at this time. She led her Party in 2015 and they won one seat in the Parliament we have just dissolved. I want to thank her for her co-operation since 2010. She has been a delight to work with and I wish her all the best for her retirement. I would like to wish her replacement as Leader, Ruairi Linehan, all the best in the upcoming election. Likewise, I would like to wish the new Leader of Fis Nua, Calvin O'Keily, all the best in his role and like to thank his predecessor, Erin Fox, for co-operating in Parliament since 2015 and wish her all the best in her retirement. Our own Republican Sinn Fein TD Billy Gaffney is retiring from Politics at this time too, since early this year he has served as our Minister of Safety. I want to wish him all the best in his retirement. During our time in Government, we didn't achieve much of our manifesto but let's focus on what we did achieve. Between June 2010 and June 2015, we managed to raise the economy from developing to reasonable. This is not great but we got it into a better position than Sinn Fein left it in before us. Between June 2015 and now, unfortunately, the economy under us fell from reasonable to fair. Fair is still higher than what Sinn Fein achieved on being voted out of Government. I am happy with that. Between June 2010 and June 2015, under us, Civil Rights also rose from some to below average. Whilst we didn't quite manage to hit average, we did manage to raise them. From June 2015 to today, we have managed to maintain this which is good because it's not fallen. We also introduced socialism into the country. That was on our manifesto and we accomplished that at least. I hope we can continue to work on this after June 2020 or if we don't get re-elected, I hope Irish politics is in a good position for the next Government to continue with. I'll leave you with that for tonight and I will give way later in the week and let our current Leader of the Opposition address you ahead of June 2020 for his own reasons. Oiche mhaith, gach duine, agus go raibh mile maith agaibh!"
