Board of Works submits 'Free Public Transit' Bill to Provincial Assemblies

In lieu of the National Assembly (which has been dissolved in perpetuity), the Provincial Assemblies and Imperial Cabinet have subsumed all legislative functions.

The Board of Works has submitted a legislative proposal, which would make public transit completely free. This only applies to buses, ferry services, or the subway - and not flights or trains.

The Board hopes that by making public transit free, more people will prefer public transit over private vehicles. By doing so, roads can experience decreased congestion and faster average speeds, as well as fewer traffic accidents, easier parking, and monetary savings from reduced wear and tear on roads.

By making transit free, there is also increased public access, especially for the poor, which can make work commute easier. Reducing the amount of vehicles on the road can also bring about environmental benefits, including decreased air pollution and noise pollution from road traffic. This is particularly evident in the Zhen, where a vast majority of buses and taxis are electric vehicles - environmental benefits are expected to occur more substantially.

The bill has been tabled to the Provincial Assemblies of Huguang, Henan, Shandong, Liangjiang, and Liaodong. If they are passed, public transit will be rendered free in those regions, effective immediately.

President Mukhtar Al-Faryadani Inaugurates new Ibn Rushd University of Economics & Social Sciences

Ahmed Ibn Rushd (1126 - 1198 CE) was an esteemed philosopher, polymath and jurist from Islamic Al-Andalus, revered for his commentary and translation of Aristotle's work. In fact, many of Aristotle's writings are still known of today due to Ibn Rushd's translation efforts into the Arabic Language. During the Cultural renaissance called Al-Nahda (renaissance) in the Arabic-speaking world and the works of Ibn Rushd were seen as inspiration to modernize the Muslim intellectual tradition. These contributions to philosophical works are studied in length within the Egyptian school system and its social science courses, introducing critical theories to the youthful masses, a key tenant of the Islamic Socialist Revolution and its Party.

Located to the east of Cairo and the Nile Delta, the new ' Ibn Rushd University of Economics & Social Sciences' or IRUESS would be consistent in the states veneration of Islamic philosophers and critical schools of thought. The project began construction in 2006, being part of a wider national scheme to make higher educational opportunities more available to a growing national student body, however this school would be unique. Specializing in the study of economic systems, philosophy, history and post-Colonial theories among other humanities, the university is said to assist in developing a more diverse intellectual pool in the future. In the sphere of economics, this is most important, considering the the recent economic liberalization pursued by the state, and the transition to pragmatic economics, Egypt's labour and management pool must adjust from decades of centralized planning.

Boasting a department of 'Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies', 'East Asian Studies', 'European Studies', 'Central Asian & Eurasian Studies', 'Eastern European Studies' among others, IRUESS is truly international, especially with regards to raising the next generation of informed Egyptian diplomats in an increasingly globalized world. This globalized world, the Party says, is one Egypt must join to ensure its prosperity and open new diplomatic ties on the basis of Islamic Struggle. The opening ceremony, held in the modern atrium of the main building, was attended by press, students and government officials, notably Comrade President Ali Barakat. The President was in fact the opening speaker, a signal to the importance of the university, and wider educational projects to the Revolution.

Board of War

The Board of War has reported several successful airstrikes against the Kra Republic (Seri Sayam), after the Kra military forces acted aggressively towards Zhen forces deployed at the SPRT islands of Samui.

A contingent of J-10B fighter jets performed airstrikes on Kra positions in Bandar Singora, firing YJ-9 ASMs and LS PGB precision-guided munitions. A Kra military supply convoy was destroyed, with ~60 confirmed kills. A similar move was executed in Tha Thong, resulting in the destruction of a Kra-operated anti-aircraft post.

1 of the 2 Type 051C destroyers had also launched punitive attacks in the port of Songkhla, severely damaging the port's ability to launch ships. No civilian casualties were recorded, as the destroyer had fired a warning shot - Zhen soldiers then disembarked, set explosive charges along the harbour facilities, and detonated them before returning to Ko Samui.

The move was in retaliation after Kra soldiers aimed lasers and fired at Zhen fighters performing routine border control patrols.

The Zhen has warned of "further retaliatory actions" if the Kra does not give into the following demands:

  • The provision of autonomous rule for Thai people living within the Kra, guaranteed by the nation's Constitution and accountable to the nations of Siam and the SPRT, or;

  • The provision of independence for Thai people living within the Kra,
    In addition to:

  • The provision of compensation for the Wang family, who have been senselessly murdered on the 12th of April.

The Empress has also sent a message to the Kra President's office, demanding a "motion of submission"*. If the prior demands are met, and the Kra President complies and submits, Zhen military intervention in the Kra Republic will end quickly.

MAY 12, THE EMPIRE ATTACKS

The direct Chinese intervention into the ongoing civil war has been expected, but not to the scale it has unfolded to. The Republic of Kra High Command has since been requesting full permission to engage Chinese assets in the region, furious at the increasingly blatant violation of Kra sovereignty over what was a mistake; a mistake that robbed a Chinese civilian of their life and another of their legs, but a mistake regardless. In the opinion of High Command, the Kra Army had no malicious intentions against the Chinese Empire, and had even issued apologies and even payments to the grieving family, only for the Chinese to turn around and rob sixty Kra soldiers of their lives. President Fadil bin Shaahir, therefore, drew tremendous flak from service members and his allies in the military alike when he announced his intent to cooperate 'to an extent' with the Chinese demands, in return for normalized relations and an end to Chinese involvement in the Second Civil War. President bin Shaahir will be flying to Beijing to discuss possible amendments to the two demands, the extent of the reparations, and to deliver the so-called 'motion of submission', if the negotiations proceed as planned. bin Shaahir has stated that 'he is willing to sell his honour for the safety and prosperity of the Kra people'. Meanwhile, protests against Chinese actions in the Republic have begun, drawing Thais and Malay alike, outside the Chinese emergency embassy in Tanjung Salang and the consulate in Pattani, with support for the insurgency also correspondingly suffering from large drop in popularity in the southern Kra Republic.

The Board of Rites will receive President bin Shaahir in the Forbidden City.

The Zhen emergency embassy in Tanjung Salang has released the following statement:

The Kra government is a sham. It is an ethnocracy meant to help the minority, not the majority. It is a dictatorship which serves the rich Malays, and casts away the Thai to further their interests.
Once again, we call for the Kra to either provide total autonomous rule for Thai people living within the Kra, or their complete independence. Anything short of that is a travesty to the Zhen's values, and to the Thai people's right to national self-determination.
To the people of the Kra - this war is not against you. A majority of you are Thais, and you are our friends. Our war is against the ruling class of Malays which have oppressed you, and the military which facilitates this repression.
Rise up, and claim what is rightfully yours!

Siamese DOD Naval White Paper 2020-2025

May 12th, BE 2563

In light of the current crisis in Kra and the brinksmanship in the Andaman and the Gulf currently being practiced by the navies of Kra, Indonesia, China, the Socialist People's Republic, the Siamese Directorate Headquarters has recognized that despite a high level of readiness, maintenance, and disclipline exhibited by the sailors and officers of the Siamese Maritime Boundary Service, the quantity of warships maintained by the Service is simply not sufficient. At present, the MBS maintains a fleet of a single light carrier, soon to be suplemented by an ex-American Landing Helicopter Assault Ship, two small amphibious assault ships, three modern frigates, to be supported by a fleet of another three upgraded Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates as a stopgap, and a fleet of 11 offshore patrol vessels and frigates, of which only two are considered modern (post-2000). This stands as the smallest fleet of any respectable South East Asian power, including that of the Thai People's Fleet and the Malaysian Navy. Recent events have transpired in the Gulf and in the Andaman, highlighted in the Defense Report of 2019 to be areas of strategic importance to Siam, in which state actors not entirely friendly to Siamese interests have acted in support or independently using warships stationed in these two aformentioned maritime areas. The Royal Government has therefore deemed it prudent to allocate funds for the expansion and training of additional staff for the Boundary Service, and to acquire modern warships in great enough numbers as to secure both the Western and Eastern seas from enemy incursion, or acts contary to Siamese interests. Initially, the government was on the verge of signing a deal with Korean shipbuilder DSME to procure three-six more of the type of frigate currently making up the backbone of the Siamese Fleet, though it has reconsidered following a series of naval arms sales consisiting of another Daegu-class frigate to the Republic of Kra Navy.

The Royal Government has thus elected to instead seek elsewhere to complete the requirement for six frigates minimum, as well as to expand these six to twelve, to be acquired over a five-year period. Furthermore, the Royal Government will also seek to order a new flagship, in the form of an aircraft carrier, by the close of 2020. It will also strive to acquire additional amphibious, aerial, surface, and submarine capabilities. The following vessel types and aircraft are to be ordered in the 2020-2021 period and acquired and paid off by 2025.

• up to fourteen 4000-8000 tonner frigates

• three landing platform docks (15,000-25,000 tons)

• up to fifteen corvettes (1000-2000 tons)

• one new carrier (40,000-70,000 tons)

• five diesel-electric attack submarines (1000-3000 tons)

• two destroyers (7000-10000 tons) (optional)

• 30-40 F-35B

• 25-30 additional utility helicopters

• staff increase, to a total of 50,000

This will be in line with the Royal Government's intention to make Siam a second-rate naval power by 2030, able to adequately project power to defend Siamese interests to the region and to further support the efforts of Siam's allies in the naval theater around the globe. Tenders will be open to any and all shipbuilders, though those from the Republic of Korea will be under additional monitoring and security measures to ensure no leak of information to possible belligerents against Siam.

Government publishes details of new reform package

With the economic downturn of the country seemingly worsening, the Party of National Salvation with the lead of President Nasser al-Hasshem, has drafted and passed a reform package in the National Assembly. The package is mainly focused on combating corruption and aiding farmers who have bore the brunt of the economic situation. The most important measures within this package are:

        - Shortening the mandatory conscription
        - Creating an anti-corruption office
        - Providing economic relief to farmers in need of it
        - Raising the salaries of public sector workers

While not included in the final draft of the package, the government has also signaled that it was willing to look into repealing certain laws that clamp down on press freedoms or prohibit the freedom of association. However, according to General al-Tahan, the Minister of Defence, "repealing such laws at the current time would not be feasible, due to two ongoing anti-terrorist operations. With subversive elements operating in the country, such a move would most certainly be detrimental".

The measures included in the reform package will be enacted as soon as possible, with President al-Hasshem being cited saying that "... [the Anti-Corruption Office] will be up and operational within this week, should all go according to plan". Likewise, any farmer being able to provide proof of their economic situation will be able to apply for the economic relief starting from the 20th of May.

    Board of Revenues

Changchun Film Studio and Alibaba Pictures have both announced investments into Seri Sayam's movie studios, with each company contributing $1 billion ZGD investments. These investments, which were made to local animation and film studios, specifically targeted firms such as Benetone Films, Kantana Group, and Phranakorn Film - as well as numerous small, low-budget establishments across the country.

    --------------

    Board of Works

The Board of Works has announced that the government would begin to sponsor biofuels for aviation, as it aims to severely cut down on foreign reliance for fossil fuels.

Previously, the Board of Works had embarked on a variety of large-scale nuclear reactor projects, aimed at providing long-term, environmentally friendly power for various rural and urban areas. Now, the Board of Works has announced that it would provide grants for the development and test trials on waste vegetable oil and jatropha-based biofuels. Currently, aviation biofuels are considered by some to be the primary means by which the aviation industry can reduce its carbon footprint. NASA has determined that 50% aviation biofuel mixture can cut air pollution caused by air traffic by 50–70%.

In October of 2011, Zhen Airlines flew the nation's first flight using aviation biofuels. The flight was conducted using locally grown jatropha oil from PetroChina, which lasted 2 hours above Beijing, and used 50% biofuel in 1 engine. In 2015, the first commercial biofuel flight was conducted, carrying 156 passengers from Shanghai to Beijing. The fuel, supplied by Sinopec, was a fuel blend of approximately 50% waste vegetable oil biofuel mixed with conventional petroleum jet fuel.

Under the new grants, the Board of Works will gradually funnel $1 billion ZGD worth of funds to both Sinopec and PetroChina, with the aim of cultivating jatropha and waste vegetable oil biofuels for aviation use. Two Comac ARJ21 regional airliners, each of which will be powered by jatropha and WVO biofuels respectively, will perform commercial flights from Beijing to Jiangning, scheduled for a year's time.

    -------------

    Board of Revenues

The Board of Revenues has made plans to tax carbon emissions, starting with import sources and per capita consumption.

Some have speculated that this new 'carbon tax', a form of climate mitigation, would target the importation of coal and oil (some of the largest emitters of GHGs), as well as incentivise businesses to make use of carbon dioxide scrubbers, and target per capita emissions of CO2.

This tax will be formally considered as an "Environmental Protection Tax". A tax scheme has been roughly drawn out, taxing each citizen $1 ZGD for every 0.01 metric tons worth of CO2 emissions per capita. As of 2018, Zhen citizens registered 7.95 metric tons of CO2 emissions per capita; under the proposed tax scheme, this would mean that each citizen would be required to contribute $795 ZGD annually as part of their carbon tax, with $1.113 trillion ZGD worth of revenues to be collected each year.

Exemptions are given to select demographics, such as rural villagers who may not have access to environmentally friendly methods of power generation.

Other plans to implement a $50 ZGD tax on each metric ton of imported coal, or $60 ZGD per barrel of imported oil, have also been tabled. Once again, exemptions are granted to select companies and nations, which have a favoured trade status with the Zhen.

Nusantara Times Special: Field Report from Kra
    Report by Lukas Simanjutak

    May 13th, 2020
    Bandar Singora, Kra Republic

    FIELD REPORT FOR MAY 13TH

      | Bandar Singora - It has been two days since the ICF began their first engagement, and yesterday the army began their land based engagement north. The night bombing mission, conducted for a two days period was a major success. With no civilian casualties reported, the air force is expected to continue the mission tomorrow, with the navy yet again participating. After I was able to contact General Agus Supratno by phone, he mentioned several details regarding Operation Surya. In which he mentions the inclusion of the new 500 soldier to the operation, increasing the number to 3,300 soldiers and the use of military drone for reconnaissance. Furthermore, the navy will also conduct reconnaissance mission in the Gulf of Siam, Indian Ocean, and the South China Sea as part of a separate operation to monitor foreign naval activity in around Kra. Another details he mentioned was from Operation Garuda. One of it was regarding one of the bombers being damaged by a SAM missiles, which resulted in pilot having to eject early. As of today, the army has reached northern Kra, but hasn't seen any engagement. I will be personally following them on their treacherous journey ahead. Although I was advised to stay "behind the lines" for safety. President Jokowi has mentioned that he will visit Kra to boost the morale of the troops on the field. With Chinese attacks on Kra, the air force and the navy "kept a close eye" on Chinese activity in the Gulf of Siam. The ICF-C has ordered yet another set of reinforcement, which numbered up to 780 troops, the largest reinforcement so far. I asked General Agus Supratno about the Chinese attacks on Kra, he said, "With the Zhen Empire in the war, I would expect that there will be some sort of tension between Indonesia and the Zhen if both nation, what I will call, 'too close to each other'. If that's the case, it won't be the first we dealt with such topic, but taking their military power into consideration, it won't be similar to 1941 or 1951. I have personally ask President Jokowi to ensure that peace between both state is maintained, and prevent a war between the two states. And President Jokowi itself has said the the only reason we intervene in Kra was to stabilize the country. Not a power projection contrary to what the public says."

In conclusion, foreign intervention, Chinese attacks and Indonesian bombardment has been one of the most interesting topic in Southeast Asia so far. I would even go as far to say that Kra is nothing more than a simulation platform for foreign powers to use their power into. And I had hoped for the best for the Kra people in these trying times.

    Imperial Commissars finalize investigation

Several days after the downing of the plane which carried Kim Yo-Jong's husband. Imperial Commissars dispatched by Supreme Emperor Kim Jong-Un himself have finally reached a conclusion on their investigation. They have provided firm evidence that the group behind the tragedy was none other than the KPP or Korean People's Party. A political adversary of the Kim Dynasty. However, the Commissars also confirmed that the Tongmenghui worked in conjunction with the KPP & provided them the necessary weaponry to carry out the act. Thus implicating themselves within the confines of the crime.

Supreme Emperor Kim Jong-Un is furious & has demanded that justice be carried out on the treacherous murderers who performed the action. He has also called for the KPP & Tongmenghui to be punished extensively to "pay the price".

He has contacted the Zhen ambassador to Korea (NK) & has reportedly been in talks with the Zhen Government to see how both Nations will move forward after gleaning such information.

Thousands of local officials, military officials, officers, and whatnot were treated to the finest foods and wines, pleasured by concubines, with the formal inauguration of the era name (賞文; Shangwen, literally meaning 'appreciation [of the] gentle, refined, elegant) accompanied by the Manchu Han Imperial Feast. Served on dishes of the finest porcelain, the meal was provided in six banquets over three days with over 300 dishes. Bear claw with sturgeons, bean curd simmered in chicken, duck and cuckoo flesh, monkey brain fungus, egg tarts, Wensi Tofu, Dezhou braised chicken, Peking duck, shark fin soup, edible bird's nest, and dried sea cucumbers were served to the guests.

South Korea's Charm Offensive: As Reconciliation with the North Comes, Seoul Looks Outward

In under 100 years, South Korea's economy has gone from one of the weakest on the planet to the 12th largest. Today, the country of just over 50 million people has a higher standard of living and education than even Japan, and it has, in many ways, surpassed larger states like Russia and United Provinces in it's technology industry. South Korea has some of the fastest internet speeds of any country, and it's home to giants like LG and Samsung. It also leads the world in shipbuilding, putting more vessels to sea than any other nation. There can be no doubt that the East Asian cultural superpower has already impressed experts many times over, but for the South Koreans themselves, that doesn't seem to be good enough.

Not long ago, the boy band NCT-127 performed in Thailand. The primary focus was the characteristically complex choreography of the genre, but in the background, observers could see logos for Hyundai and Kia, South Korea's leading car brands, who had sponsored the performance. The show in Khon Khaen was something of a massive commercial, and Hyundai Motor Corporation capitalized on it as much as they could, running giveaways for tickets to the concert and putting a series of adds on local television.

Back in Korea, business was also taking place. The National Assembly voted in favor of a program to massively expand the system allowing workers, specifically those from Thailand, to enter and live in Korea. The President was seen attending the openings for workers housing complexes, funded in part by the government, and speaking about the importance of supporting migrant workers, who take many jobs the average Korean wouldn't.

To the west, Samsung held the ground breaking ceremony for a new factory in Serbia, promising to support young tech designers and give them jobs and opportunities to follow their dreams. Across the sea, Samsung also rolled out a concept for a new stadium in Mexico City, a sleek and fancy facility which is planned to have cutting edge new technology.

For many international bystanders, when they think of superpowers, Korea doesn't come to mind. China, Russia, and the United Provinces are the first things one would hear. For those more educated on international affairs, they might mention Persia or the Confederate States. Generally, one when hears of Korea, they respond by saying something along the lines of, "don't they have really weird music?" The truth is, South Korea is far more than that. Crimes rates and unemployment are low, the standard of living is high, the market is ridiculously competitive. A model of capitalism sits at the tip of the Korean Peninsula, with it's heart beating in Seoul, a city which houses almost half the entire country's population, and is one of the most expensive in the world.

Historically, the size and might of China and Japan have trumped Korea, and the threat of North Korea has contained it's aspirations. Yet all of this seems very far away for Koreans, who are more focused on studying in school and getting good jobs.

In conclusion, what's the point of these stadiums, funding programs, and factories? What do these K-pop performances tell us? It's quite simple. Korea has a great many resources, and now, her grip on the global economy as one of the leading importers, is secure. And the government wants to go even further, from a silent superpower, a work horse behind the scenes, to one of the globes leaders.

FOREIGN MINISTER HANA ADROVIĆ GIVES INTERVIEW FOR DANAS

Foreign Minister Hana Adrović accepted to speak for a first time since yesterday's official ending of the state of emergency, giving an interview on differing foreign agenda subjects for our newspapers. She said that she's honored to speak for us now, and here is what's been talked about.

Journalist: "Minister Adrović, you've accompanied Prime Minister Bo˛ović and Vice-President Yavas of Turkish state on a trip to Oyashima-koku and South daehanmingug, to deliver what has been interpreted by numerous media here and abroad as an official NATO position on the matter. What can you tell us of the visit? Is it true that you went there to 'correct the wrong atmosphere generated by United-Dixie President's visit to North Korea', as one analyst said?"

Minister Adrović: "Well, first of all, one more person has been a part of team during visit and that is my wife Ayla-ah Kim. I must point out on her presence, because her support has been of significant importance during my speech to LGBTQ+ community of South Korea. Only myself and her know what we've been passing through in more conservative media of both our countries after we decided to marry. My address on that specific subject has had a strong emotional impact on myself, audience saw and felt how hard it has been, and that is exactly why it is so important for me that my wife was also there to help me with that. Apart from these moments, when I was on brink of tears while offering a reconstruction of our past year's LGBTQ+ campaign in Serbia, the rest of the visit passed in beautifully positive atmosphere and I've been thankful a lot to both our Japanese and South Korean hosts for their hospitality. When it comes to my wife, she was even more pleased with the visit, taking into account her family history with South Korea.

Now, you've raised an important question of President Jackson's visit to North Korea. Let me be open and honest with that, because it's important. Our visit to the region did came after his visit to North Korea, in an atmosphere that might had generated a scepticism among our allies towards the NATO members intentions, but I don't look to our visit as some sort of correcting what he did or even putting forward official NATO positions. Prime Minister Bo˛ović and Vice-President Yavas mostly spoke on behalf of their nations, it is true that we discussed NATO role in the region, but we primarily did that as a sovereign and independent NATO member states naturally concerned with NATO agenda. When it comes to CSA diplomacy in the region, CSA is also an independent and sovereign NATO member state and I don't see need for any of us to 'correct' or 'clarify' their diplomatic moves. I think that message of President Jackson's visit has been clear, I also think that message of our visit has been perfectly clear and I think that we already see results of NATO members diplomatic involvement in the region, with some important issues already resolved and talks taking place among important partners of ours."

Journalist: "Large part of what has been discussed during your trip to Eastern Asia was concerned with the role that North Korea is playing in the region. Do you think that NATO is betraying own principles of insisting on democracy worldwide, especially in these important times of wars for democracy going on, by some of its members' leaders doing diplomacy with communist regime of North Korea?"

Minister Adrović: "I think that audience can draw own conclusions of what's the whole matter about by simply looking at how complicated formulation of your question is. If the real problem was existing, it would be possible to make things simple as they are, but the fact is that plenty of people are now imagining some sort of trouble where there is none.

Let me now speak of facts, because facts are always simple in diplomacy. What is currently going on with North Korea on its path of reconciling its relations towards the South Korea and Western world, primarily with CSA among the rest of us, is nothing new as a diplomatic practice. We saw that when President Nixon decided to open China back in 1970s, and that was half a century ago. Then as now, majority of NATO shared a rational and a simple belief that although we can never be fine with communism as a state political system wherever it occurs, we must learn to live alongside the nations who are classified as such systems. Not a single member of NATO has 'betrayed', or however you like to say it, our insisting on democratic principles, we are just orientating ourselves to the more pragmatic path with North Korea, and that is a path leading us towards stability and peace in region of Eastern Asia. And let me sound probably a little more honest than I should, but when our allies in that region, Japan and South Korea, send us a strong message that they are okay with the way that Western diplomacy is delivered in that region, I strongly prefer listening to their positions rather than half-educated tabloid journalists who want to sink us and our diplomacy at all costs."

Journalist: "Let us move to the war matters. You've been reported to have played a key role in persuading the NATO to begin its operation of airstrikes in Libyan Arab Republic, backing the Al-Sarraj pro-Western government. How realistic are these descriptions? What is your role on behalf of Serbia in that war and how active you are in NATO circles? Also, I would like to add another question, and that is what are next steps in operation?"

Minister Adrović: "I believe that it won't cause any harm for the classified part of the operation if I say that I did played a certain role when it comes to reaching the consensus in NATO that something needs to be done in Libya. Our socialist media called it 'lobbying', but I won't use that term for what I did, because lobbyists are relying on their psychological ability to persuade you with moral and immoral means to do what they want you to do. I did not do that on Libyan subject. I used means granted to my Foreign Ministry position, used some contacts that I would likely not have on table if I was not who I am, but all that was legal and more important it was morally right thing to do.

Let me remind you just for a moment of the image of Libya when we decided to enter the war by launching operation. Few months ago, when all this started, GNA was on a brink of defeat, controlling just Tripoli and areas pretty close to it. Today, with continual targeted airstrikes of NATO against LNA and their foreign allies on the ground, we manage to establish safe zone of flying all over the western border of Libya. I am proud that Serbian Air Force played a decisive role in that project, bombing LNA positions on both northern and southern front with minimal casualties taken. Libya today is the most important battlefield for democracy in entire world, and we should be proud of our boys in Air Force and what they're doing for the future of Libyan people. Of course, we were faced with internal opposition of socialist with no sense of patriotism and commitment to democracy, so we've decided to minimize the presence of our boys on the ground and put forward unmanned drones instead, both to satisfy their realistic concerns about safety of our staff and to show world that we're capable of fighting a modern war. And that is answer to what you've asked about what should be expected in future - we will continue with drone airstrikes, probably intensify them, but that is a military matter I've no mandate to speak about. When it comes to diplomacy, I will continue to have active contacts with both GNA and NATO and to coordinate our efforts.

Five years from now, and that is my promise which I think is with no doubt a realistic one, Libya will be open and prosperous society with high standards of democracy and both civil and political freedoms. If we don't fail on that goal, I would be really proud of my role."

Journalist: "Putting Libya aside, is there anything that concerns you right now?"

Minister Adrović: "There are always multiple concerning issues worldwide. Serbia today is taking active part in global diplomacy, thanks to our commitment to our economic and defensive alliances and partnerships worldwide, and that is something appreciated highly by both us and whoever comes to the other side of the table. We set pretty high standards when it comes to political and media freedoms and that gives us great credits that we actively use in global diplomacy. Right now, we're processing a situation in Sahuria where two protesters have been shot on a rally against President Nasser al-Hasshem's regime, which is a regime with dramatically low standards of democracy and state of justice, and also pretty close with some of the states we're de facto fighting against in Libya, like Afsharid Persia. It is still early to say where this will lead, but we've condemned police violence and we will insist on inspecting of all the aspects of what is happening there, in cooperation with Sahurian Observatory for Human Rights."

Journalist: "Minister Adrović, thank you for your time."

    Minister Adrović: "You're welcome."

              Gun Rights and Bogan Fights
Support for relaxed gun laws in the top end starts to gain traction
              May 16th

Over the last few weeks, Queensland Senators Bob Katter and Pauline Hanson have worked to promote a relaxation of gun laws in Queensland. Bob Katter of Katter's Australia Party, as the Member for Kennedy in Queensland's far north, has argued that a relaxation of gun restrictions are vital, particularly in country Queensland where a large amount of the population work on farms and often have run-ins with rabbits, foxes, feral cats, feral pigs and boar, wild dogs, wild goats, and camels. Bob Katter has mentioned that 'city folk don't have to deal' with invasive species and fight to protect their properties. Katter sparked more controversy that usual a few days ago, when he blamed mentally ill people for the heavy gun restrictions, mentioning that 'if people stopped being psychopathic nuts' Australia wouldn't have such tough gun laws.

Pauline Hanson of Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party, as a Senator of Queensland, argued a similar point to Katter. She argued that there is 'no good reason' to stop a 'completely sane and law-abiding citizen' from owning a gun, and that 'bad guys are going to break the law regardless,' referring to the idea that a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun.

Katter and Hanson both believe that gun restrictions should be significantly lowered. Although both politicians are in federal parliament, they aim on convicing the federal government to relax restrictions, even if it's just for Queensland. Queensland, unlike the rest of Australia's states, are unicameral. Katter's Australia Party and Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party have a combined 4 seats of 93 in Queensland's Legislative Assembly; Shane Knuth (KAP) from Hill, Robbie Katter (KAP) from Traeger, Nick Dametto (KAP) from Hinchinbrook, and Stephen Andrew (PHON) from Mirani.

The legislation will be relaxed significantly, allowing for anyone without a violent crime history or mental problem to be able to purchase a larger variety of weapons and bullets. Katter has also argued for open carry, and for the restrictions to only apply for country, not suburban, Queensland, views not shared by Hanson.

    Overall:

Tonight was a night of shocks, the MHP ripped through Anatolia to claim flip 14 provinces from the CHP and SHP. And two from the LDP. Granting them control over half of Turkey's provinces, and effectively control over local politics for the next half decade. With it clear they they have begun to break into the CHP's Aegean and East Black Sea region, but still have not made a breakthrough into the Southeast. But they did preform fairly well Batman, coming neck and neck with the SHP calls of a possible recount of the vote in the province. The CHP preformed fairly better than the MHP in the parliament only losing 13 seats, compared to the CHP who lost 48 seats. But the tale of the night would be the THP who after 19 years of trying, finally broke into Turkish politics. Founded in the ashes of the Refah Party, that were banned due to violating the constitutions secular laws. With none of the fall out parties being able to claim success, except for former Istanbul Mayor Recep Tayyip Erdoğan claiming success after serving his jail sentence due to being party of the leadership in the Refah Party who had violated the constitution. Though his success came in Football, rather than politics. The Turkish People's Party, originally called ODP (Ottoman Reform Party). However in 2017 a man named Binali Yıldırım, a close friend of Erdoğan, ran for leadership of the ODP. With Erdoğan making his first return to politics since 1999 in his endorsement speech of Yıldırım for party boss. Yıldırım quickly reformed the party to the Turkish People's Party and appeal direct to the Anatolian voter base, giving them solutions that played into the narrative their ideology had tested out previously in the big cities. This worked out for them tonight, as they went from zero seats in the Grand National Assembly to becoming the third largest with 70 seats. And flipped the major cities of Konya and Trabzon, both making up the five major cities of Anatolia. And won 9 provinces, even coming in third in Istanbul due to Anatolian migrant communities. Tonight also saw the collapse of the TKP, who fell down to only one province, and fell bellow the 3% requirement to enter parliament. Losing all the seats they had. The LDP also preformed poorly tonight on the mainland, losing all of their provinces except for Antalya. But like always they preformed well in Cyprus, Crete, and Rhodes. Winning in Cyprus with 57% of the vote, and came in second by only 2% in both Crete and Rhodes. This continue to solidify the LDP as the islands, which was reinforced when they became the only party in parliament to do their post election address from outside Ankara. Which was held in the capital of the Cyprus province of Lefkoşa. At the end of the night, both the MHP and CHP will be looking to form a majority coalition with the Grand National Assembly so that President Bahēeli can reopen the Grand National Assembly, if they cannot. It will force a do over for the Grand National Assembly election. Prime Minister Akşener as of tonight will be Acting Prime Minister Akşener until a new coalition government is put together. With the powers of the Prime Minister being transferred over to the Presidency. Turkey will either face a future that will be continued under Prime Minister Akşener or a new Prime Minister in the former President Kemal Kılıēdaroğlu. The SHP, LDP, and THP look to be the ones to determine the faith of the nation.

    Imperial Cabinet

The Imperial Cabinet has formally legalized gambling within the Zhen, albeit with heavy restrictions.

Under this new statute, the only legalised form of gambling will be sports betting - casino gambling will remain strictly illegal and only available in the Macau SAR. This also provides permission for institutions such as hotels or entertainment centres to build and operate sports venues for greyhound racing, cockfighting, horseracing, and so on.

Gambling will only be made available for people who are over 21 years of age. In addition, family members, with enough support, can ask for a gambling citizen to be banned from gambling for a set period of time in the event of addiction; the Board of Works will also provide addiction rehabilitation programmes to gamblers free of charge.

The Imperial Cabinet has also decreed that there should be no ATMs in gambling areas to minimise the chances of gamblers withdrawing massive amounts of money and "losing it all in one go".

The Board of Revenues has also imposed a levy for gambling, with nonrefundable entry fees to be charged per person upon entry into a gambling area. This entry free is set at a universal amount of $450 ZGD, and is meant to remind people of the "financial cost and risk" gambling has on the people, while ensuring that low-income groups do not spiral into debt by spending liberally.

President Mussolini begins circulating Constitutional Referendum

After having spent these past weeks building up his administration's popularity & goodwill with the Italian People. President Mussolini has begun to circulate the idea of holding a Constitutional Referendum across Italy. One that may concern delegating even further power to the position that concurrently makes up the President of Italy. Immediate outrage was heard across the Left within Italy. The Communist Party of Italy condemned such an idea as a covert attempt at suggesting that Italy be turned into a dictatorship. Some suggesting that even granting the position a slight amount of power could be a slip into tyranny.

Although the outrage was not as heavily felt across most citizens. Many felt that the form of Government had been lacking in response to the COVID-19 virus which led to the fall of the previous administration & the formation of the Mussolini cabinet. What's more, President Mussolini often personally guided or led initiatives to assist the citizenry of Italy. His "Get Back to Work" plan has encountered high success among the populace. Especially in impoverished areas like Naples which recently witnessed a massive investment from the Zhen Government to modernize the railway system.

Thus many have agreed with his sentiment & have voiced their support for the idea of such a referendum. In addition, President Mussolini personally stated,

"I am not looking to turn Italia into a dictatorship. After all, Constitutional Article 139 prevents the Republican form of Government from being changed. So how would I introduce such an idea into Italia? I simply wish to introduce change that will benefit all of Italia. I believe we have many lessons to learn after this virus"

Mussolini has proposed that the voting centers be used to facilitate such an ordeal. Although he has not fully committed to such an idea.

NOTE: This information is considered Unknown information to the player base at large unless such information is released or disclosed to other players.
President Mussolini called current Italian Army Chief of Staff Federico Bonato. The man who replaced Salvatore Farina when he was discovered to have contracted COVID-19. Bonato answered,

    F: "Yes Mr. President"

M: "Good evening. We should see the waves crash upon the shores"

    F: "Understood Mr. President"

Mussolini ended the call & organized a prompt escort to an unmarked location within Rome. The building was officially owned by a noted Monarchist sympathist. This explained why several Monarchist party members were present & actively guarding the site. Many greeted the President as he went inside where he found the Chief of Staff & Monarchist heir waiting. Mussolini greeted the men before delving quickly into business,

M: "Alright gentleman. Let us get to work. So, under Article 139, any change to the Italian Government will naturally be nigh impossible to facilitate. However, this does not mean we are to give up. My great grandfather once discarded the traditional ruleset as well. We can as well"

(Amedeo - Monarchist heir): "Well my party has been slowly building support throughout the country. We have garnered decent support within the North-West. Within the North-East we are struggling. In the Central Area of Italy we are doing much better. But it is down South where we are truly building support. We have built up a strong base of support in several cities & are currently in the process of locking down Naples. Once our reform convention is finished. I believe our party will be unstoppable. Especially as the Fascists & Communists battle each other with their Summits"

M: "Great to hear. Once your support is adequate. We can simply discard Article 139 & impose our will just like they did in the March on Rome. Now, we will need the loyalty of the Army if we are to achieve this. That is where you will come in General Bonato. After all, it was I who secured your position. I have made sure that General Farina will be declared dead due to COVID-19 tomorrow. Your position as Chief of the Army Staff has been secured."

F: "Of course, Mr President. I have begun to promulgate Monarchist sentiment throughout the Armed Forces. I have ensured Monarchist members enlist within the Armed Forces. I have also begun to identify members within the Officer Corps who may share Monarchist sympathies. I've also secured documents to provide to the Monarchists to assist them in organizing a paramilitary force"

M: "Very good. Now, we will need to worry about the international response. This is not 1920 anymore. The world is much more sensitive in this era. I do not doubt the European Union & possibly the pesky Americans will give grave consideration to this. We will need to build up goodwill with our neighbors to ensure that the backlash is not too great"

A: "Yes, indeed. We did attend the German funeral. That should endear us at least slightly with the Germans. We have hosted the British. Even if they are not within the Union. Any support is good. I know our Democratic Party has been building relations with the Serbs. The French, they have been busy with the Koreans. The Dutch. We do not know much but they seem to be busy with their own affairs. The Bulgarians. They seem to also be busy with their affairs. Overall, i'd say that we should be in a good position to not garner overall condemnation. But I would still be weary.

M: "Indeed. We will need to build up our military beforehand. So as to at least provide some measure of protection should the worse come to pass. But we will bring about change within Italia. Even if the world isn't prepared for it. Italia First!"

    A: "Italia First!"

    F: "Italia First!"

With that the men dispersed. President Mussolini went back to his residence. He will uphold his family's legacy. No matter the trials he must face.

    Zhen-Vaccines to begin Mass Production

The Vaccines provided by the Zhen, which were tested over a week ago. Have been approved for mass production by the Italian Ministry of Health. They have stated,

"These vaccines have proved very fruitful in our tests. We believe that they will lead to mass recovery from the virus within the coming weeks. I can already see it. The end of this apocalypse is near"

This statement was received very well amongst the populace. With several people rejoicing at the prospect of no longer needing to fear the devastating virus which has ravaged Italia the past couple months. Italian President Mussolini came out to social media to state,

"Italia First! Before I came, this was only a dream. A dream which was being destroyed by a virus & an inept administration. But through my efforts & the gracious aid of the Zhen Dynasty. We have not only successfully combatted COVID-19. We now see an opportunity for mass recovery. No longer will our country suffer! No longer will we live in fear of death!

I stated that Italy wouldn't work for foreigners. But they would work for us! Now look! Through our efforts we have illustrated that foreign relations can be very beneficial for Italia if done right! Now we can recoup our strength & embark on Italia's true destiny. A destiny of greatness that has never been seen before! Italia First!"

President Mussolini's statement skyrocketed with support from the Italian populace as people showed their support for the man. Several top Italian celebrities posted videos of joy in which some of them could be seen crying in happiness. Several more citizens posted videos waving flags of Italy with the #Italia First in the caption.

Least to say, Mussolini's administration has been able to cash in on the virus to massively improve their domestic support.

    Central America joins the OECD
It is considered by many an exclusive organization that brings together the most developed countries in the world, and this Friday Central America became the fourth Latin American country to join the organization. The ambassadors of the 37 countries that make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) unanimously extended this Friday an invitation for Central America to become a full member of that institution.

"We are delighted to welcome Central America into the OECD's great family at a time when multilateralism is more important than ever," said Įngel Gurrķa, the organization's general secretary.

Although the announcement stated that Central America has been "invited" to join the OECD, which gave the impression that it is an initial step, in reality, this announcement ends a long process that spanned more than five years. In a message published on his Twitter account, the President José Daniel Garcķa, reported that he had been formally notified of the invitation and stressed that this makes Central America the fourth country in Latin America to join the organization, which It is dedicated to exchanging and establishing good practices in the institutional and economic spheres.

Integration into the OECD requires countries to comply with a series of institutional standards and good practices. In the case of Central America, according to the government, the country had to approve in the last stage some 14 laws to adapt to those requirements. As a member of the OECD, Central America will be able to participate in more than 300 committees and expert and working groups that are dedicated to finding solutions to many of today's social, environmental and economic challenges, as well as to developing Public policy standards in fields as diverse as education and the fight against tax evasion.

After the invitation announced this Friday, only some formalities remain to be fulfilled, such as the signing of the accession agreement and its subsequent approval by the Legislative Assembly and by the Executive of the country. Only three Latin American countries have so far entered the OECD: Mexico in 1994, Chile in 2010 and Colombia, whose admission was announced on April 28.

The Dalian-Pyongyang high-speed rail line (DP-HSR) is a dual-track, electrified, high-speed rail line. It runs from Shenyang to Dandong, where it connects to the Pyongui Line and the Pyongbu Line.

    Cost $9 billion USD
    Distance 682.3 km
    Origin Dalian Railway Station
Destination Pyongyang Station (Korean State Railway)
    Stations/Stops 3 (Shenyang, Sinijiu, Pyongyang)
    Operational Rolling Stock

      13 HSR rolling stock sets;
      13 CRH380B/BL (8-car)

Electrification 25 kV 50 Hz AC Overhead Line
    Max Speed 250 km/h

The Pyongui and Pyongbu Lines require intensive renovations, in order to increase its operating speeds from 100km/h to over 250km/h. Additionally, the Pyongui Line is currently a single-track line - a second track will be laid down to fulfil the dual-track requirements of the DP rail line. The Pyongui and Pyongbu Lines also require upgrades in electrifications, to render it compatible with 25 kV 50 Hz AC Overhead lines.

$300 million USD will be used to renovate 59 of the stations within North Korea's provincial borders. $14.8 million USD will go towards the purchase of 13 sets of 8-car CRH380B/BL rolling stock.

Upon completion (est. date ~3 yrs), trains will run from Dalian to Seoul on 4-hour intervals. A one-way trip from Dalian to Pyongyang will be completed in 2-3 hours.

Recently, the Supreme Emperor has given his approval to a comprehensive re-development plan proposed by the Zhen Dynasty. Many cheered on the agreement. Stating that it would bring unprecedented prosperity to North Korea in all sectors of the economy & lead to a mass change in the quality of life. Some Korean economic advisors have even coined it,

"The plan to bring on the second industrial revolution within Korea"

The Kim Dynasty signs the Pyongyang Accords

In an unprecedented move, the Kim Dynasty has signed the Pyongyang Accords which officially marks Korean entry into the Pyongyang Accords. The signing was witnessed by officials from the various countries of the Pyongyang Accords. Supreme Emperor Kim Jong-Un had the following to state,

"This event marks the Kim Dynasty's entry into the world of foreign politics. No more will be regarded as a hermit kingdom! We will usher in the glorious age of imperial revolution our forefathers fought for in the War of re-unification!"

Several citizens bowed to the Supreme Emperor & were seen chanting statements of support for the Kim Dynasty,

"All hail the Supreme Emperor & his eternal wisdom!"

"Glory to the Supreme Emperor's Dynasty! Glory to Korea!"

    "Everything for the Supreme Emperor!"

Historical Korean Summit in Paris falls through

After the Supreme Emperor graciously accepted to attend a historical summit between the Koreas, America, & the Confederacy in Paris. The Summit was a complete disaster. While negotiations were being held & a deal was almost reached with the Americans. The lower Koreans released several aggressive statements at the end that illustrated their violent stance on the Korean Peninsula,

"Seoul is fully willing to escalate the situation"

"& as you can see, my Government [South Korea] is in no hurry to please yours [North Korea]"

Lower Korea also demonstrated considerable disrespect to Confederate President Jackson throughout the meeting which further deteriorated relations between the Koreas as Jackson was invited as a personal friend to the Kim Dynasty. All of this culminated in the Supreme Emperor walking out of the meeting to end negotiations. He has stated,

"The Summit was an embarrassment to international politics everywhere. We will need to place serious consideration on the situation in the Korean Peninsula & whether the path to peace is still a viable option as the lower Korean regime appears to be instigating trouble with their belligerent statements"

After the Supreme Emperor's statement was broadcasted to the Korean people. Nearly everyone in Pyongyang came out to support the Supreme Emperor. The Army held a march in the Capital in which they re-affirmed their complete dedication & loyalty to the Kim Dynasty. Chanting,

"For the Supreme Emperor! We will strike down the foreign dogs which bark at the gates of Korea!"

The Imperial Youth Cadets came out in force as well. Mobilizing hundreds of thousands of cadets to march near the Capital waving flags of the Kim Dynasty chanting,

"The Youth will take up the torch of the future & continue to lead the Kim Dynasty into prosperity! We will continue to dedicate our lives & well-being to the prosperity of the Supreme Emperor & Korea! Death to traitors & foreign barbarians!"

The Imperial Peasant Guard also came out to show support,

"The people will rise to lead the Imperial Revolution against the foreign Democratic barbarians at the gates of Korea! We will never surrender to foreign dogs who wish to see Korea become a cesspool of degeneracy! Glory to the Kim Dynasty! Glory to Korea!"

All of this was echoed by the general populace who showed a vigorous display of support for the Supreme Emperor. Many in Pyongyang chanting,

"We will bring Death to the enemies of Korea! Everything for the Supreme Emperor! May he lead us into prosperity against foreigners who would desecrate our people!"

This re-invigorated the Kim Dynasty to show that it will not bow to foreigners. The Kim Dynasty has survived thus far. It will continue to do so. Glory to Korea! Glory to the Supreme Emperor!

South Korea Cites “Concerns” Over North Korean Military Exercises

Seoul Steps up Operations to Counter North Korean Aggression

A South Korean fighter aircraft flew within five miles of the DMZ today before turning away and heading towards it’s airbase. Sources confirmed it did not enter Pyongyang’s airspace, and that the aircraft was aiding in a survey of fertile lands for farming. In response to the recent display of hostility, the South resumed loud speaker broadcasts of western media and South Korean news, which it had halted a year ago. The news mentions details like a recent rise in the South Korean economy—something which would be strange to North Koreans, who are told that the South is full of poverty. The broadcasts can usually be heard for miles across the border.

Extra patrols along the Northern Limit Line will take effect for a week before returning to normal.

Seoul has stated these extra measures are merely a precaution against the non-elected Government in Pyongyang and it’s despotic leader.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed hope that, “Her Serene Majesty’s assistance in North Korea will bring food and healthcare to a population entirely oppressed by an incompetent and unconcerned cult of personality.” This was in regard to Chinese involvement in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed hope that, “Her Serene Majesty’s assistance in North Korea will bring food and healthcare to a population entirely oppressed by an incompetent and unconcerned cult of personality.” This was in regard to Chinese involvement in the region.

Recently, Supreme Emperor Kim Jong-Un released a statement in response to the belligerent actions being undertaken by the Seoul Administration,

"I wish to re-assure my people. The lower Koreans have absolutely no integrity. During our first Summit, they agreed to move exercises away from the border. Yet, it is believed they will be increasing the number of patrols among the Northern Line? In addition, they have resumed blasting their propaganda over the border. Once more, we have been shown their aggression.

Recently, we believed they looked forward to peace & restraint. Yet, all they do now is act belligerently towards us? We have not increased patrols on our border, nor have we flown our planes near the border. They cite concern over our military exercises? HA! We have conducted our exercises within the Capital which is approximately 200 km or 124 miles from the border. Yet, the Koreans treat our parades as something to be concerned over. This illustrates the sad, paranoid nature of the Seoul administration.

Let them shout their lies across the border. As they say, let your actions speak louder than your words. We will continue to carry on & exercise our sovereign right to self-defense. If the Seoul administration wishes to continue acting belligerently they may. But it will only ruin their international reputation while we continue to rise in the world"

Supreme Emperor Kim Jong-Un was seen afterwards waving to a group of Imperial Guards of the Korean People as they patrolled the streets of Pyongyang. Naturally, much of the populace agreed with the Supreme Emperor's statement & continued to display their Kim Dynasty flags proudly. A sign of the fanatical devotion & loyalty of the Korean citizenry"
