smh

Would rather depend on someone all your life, or do everything by yourself.

Claims, Expansions, and territory decay.

You will tell me, the mapper, how many systems you have either already in the RP, or how many you are claiming. You will then direct me to where to place you on the map. If you have any complaints afterwards, please, bring them up to me. If you have any and I mean any space expansion posts from before you claimed on the map, please, link them so that I know how many systems to give you.

For new players to IOC, just make a post where you colonize more than 50 systems. If it's adequate, it will be considered. If it isn't I'll help advice you on how to make it so the post is adequate, and viable to be accepted.

Territory Decay. This will be a controversial one for some. If you CTE, or leave IOC, or you stop RPing entirely for three months, your territory will begin to decay, and become claimable by other people. This decay will continue until either you return, or your territory is gone completely. The decay, once it begins, will speed up rapidly.

I think I might have some space on here, but I'll Orange Creek confirm.

Edit: Yeah, Garanno should be me and OC's puppet account, not just that account, following Irulan's placement onto the throne of the Empire.

Rat has returned, and he shall immediately remind you to reply with what you think of the vampire-demon ideas I posited last night.

Damn, all my original posts, except the first one, about Patricius Kristus have somehow been completely deleted. Will make this a bit harder, but no matter.

What are the tenets of the Kristic Church?

Alexander the Magnus wrote:What are the tenets of the Kristic Church?

Well the Kristic Church was founded by Arians, who claim that The Lord had more than one child. The other three being the siblings Marcus the Wise, Marcella the Forgiver and Gaius the Old. The first Patriarch was the husband of Marcella, Albertus Hortensus the Forgiven. Hortensus also killed Marcus, but after asking for forgiveness, was forgiven by Marcella and The Lord. There are many other unique tenets of the Orthodox Kristic Church, but yeah.

The Search for Immortality

A few months have passed since King Isaac II’s productive conversation with King Markus, and since then he has been searching everywhere for this so-called Patricius Kristus. Figuratively speaking, of course. It has mostly been the Red Agents looking. And they’re positive that they’ve finally found him. Surprisingly he was still within the borders of the Ludist Empire, just on a rather faraway planet called Elpe-AE-09, trying to find some new followers for his cult, which was obviously long past its prime. Just like him.

The man that sat before King Isaac, tied to a leather chair with rope, had long thinning grey hair, with several bald spots, an even longer beard, and was lightly beaten by the Red Agents who kidnapped him. What he was wearing could best be described as peasant rags, and his door wasn’t anything to boast about. He was a shell of whatever impressive figure he once was.

King Isaac: “So, you are the supposed great Messiah of the Kristic people.”

Patricius Kristus: “Please, just let me go! I’ve done nothing… hurt no one! I pay my tabs!”

King Isaac: “I care little about those, peasant.”

King Isaac would say the last word, as though it was acid to the tongue. The word almost disgusted him as much as the unwashed and poorly clothed old man before him.

King Isaac: “I simply want to know, are you Patricius Kristus or not?”

Patricius would sigh. He saw no way out of this.

Patricius Kristus: “I am Patricius Kristus, your saviour, yes. Though it’s getting hard to save people these days.”

Isaac would scoff as his remark. That old man couldn’t even save himself, he thought.

King Isaac: “When were you born, Patricius Kristus?

Patricius Kristus: Well, my memory is a bit fuzzy… but I believe I was born on a Monday.”

King Isaac would sigh, though it was obviously forced. He would nod to on of the Red Agents standing by the wall, who proceeded to go into the room besides them, and came back with a metal baseball bat. He went over and handed this baseball bat to Isaac, who then hit it against Patricius’ knee with a swing deserving of a home run. Patricius’ screams could be heard in the whole castle, but Isaac would just respond by spitting in his left eye.

King Isaac: “From now on, you’ll refer to me as your Majesty. Because I AM YOUR MAJESTY! Understood?”

Patricius wouldn’t answer immediately, as he was trying to catch his breath, but understood that he didn’t have time to think about an answer either.

Patricius Kristus: “Ye- yes… your Majesty…”

King Isaac: “Now, when we’re you born?”

Patricius Kristus: “The… the 22nd July… 2543… your- your Majesty.”

King Isaac: “That would make you 185 years old, and then some. Good for you! How?”

Patricius Kristus: “Your Majesty?”

King Isaac: “How are you so old? I know that you claim to be the Messiah, but somehow I don’t buy that explanation completely. You’re not exactly wealthy, so it can’t be biological enhancements either. Those aren’t cheap for the peasantry. So what black magic have you been doing?”

Patricius Kristus: “It was… it- it was… the… uh. It was the fault of the vision…”

King Isaac: “The what?”

Patricius Kristus: “Vi- vision. I ha- have… I have…”

King Isaac would look at him, his eyes squinted narrowly, confused at what Patricius was even saying. Not to mention what he meant.

Patricius Kristus: “Many…”

Patricius, unexpectedly, fell unconscious. The Red Agents tried to wake him up by hitting him lightly, but to no effect. He was completely blank. Seemingly hitting people of his age with metal baseball bats isn’t the best idea, if you want a good interrogation out of them. Luckily he did not die, so Isaac simply ordered him locked in his room, and to have a doctor to come see him. Isaac was not done with him yet, he was just beginning to talk.

The Search for Immortality

The freezing cold, waking you up from a dazed slumber, and momentarily absorbing the whole world around you. Your eyes open immediately, and you try to scream, but your head hurts too much. You try to touch your face, as if to ease yourself, and make the pain go away, but you can’t move your arm. Your world is no longer absorbed by the cold, but it most definitely hasn’t gone away. You notice that you’re wet, no, completely drenched in water. And then you notice the man staring before you, looking down upon you with not even a slight a feeling of remorse on his face, holding a now empty bucket. And next to him is standing a man even colder than you, figuratively speaking. That’s when you remember what happened.

King Isaac: “Good morning, Patricius. Are you ready to finish your story now?”

All you can respond with are noises born out of pain, that have no place in the Latin vocabulary. You then feel overwhelmed with a sensation, coming deep down from your stomach, quickly making its way up your throat, and out your mouth. You try to lay on your side to throw up, but you’re tied down, unable to move. As you throw up, you see doctors rushing to free you, and turn you to your side, just as you tried to do moments before. You can’t breathe, and the horrible smell is devouring your world. The smell of… stomach acid. That’s when you realise that you’re starving. And thirsty, for that matter.

The doctors manage to turn you over, and after you’re done emptying your already empty stomach, you can finally breathe again, which you do hurriedly.

King Isaac: “Are you ready now?”

You: “Gi… gi- give me time…”

King Isaac: “Give me time, your what?”

You: “Your Majesty.”

You’re still freezing, your nostrils are still greatly offended, you have a headache so terrible that you can only whisper, you’re still starving, and despite being drenched in water, you might be the thirstiest you have ever been.

King Isaac: “Listen Patricius, I want to know about these visions of yours. Or more specifically the ones connecting to your exaggerated lifespan. Tell me all you can, and your life imprisonment will be one of luxury, instead of one of… whatever this is, every day.”

You: “I- I’ll talk…”

You squint you eyes, trying to concentrate. It’s hard thinking with this all consuming headache.

You: “It started a long, long time ago. It was a protest, I think? Around that time. My old friend, Martin… well, we weren’t friends yet. But we became so. He held the Augustan protest… Martin, it’s been so long…”

King Isaac: “Enough about Martin, what more?”

You: “It only got worse, especially after I met… Anastasia. Oh Anastasia!”

You begin to cry, silently. Memories of friends long gone start to flush your brain, but the memory that hurts the most is that of Anastasia. She did not deserve to die like that.

King Isaac: “Snap back into it, Patricius. I doubt she’s still alive anyway. How do your visions tie to your lifespan?”

You: “They just started out as dreams, messages from The Lord… that’s how I found out my nature. It was Joshua that helped enlighten me, he helped show me the way.”

King Isaac: “Joshua? Joshua who?”

You: “Richtus. Joshua Richtus. Too old a name for you… your Majesty?”

King Isaac: “What? Was he famous?”

You nod slowly.

King Isaac: “Hmph, that’s good news. How exactly did he help with your visions?”

You: “He was an Augustan theologian, the best. I told him my dreams, he helped decipher them. He became my second-in-command. I wonder what happened to him? He was the oldest, but-”

King Isaac: “I don’t care about your personal life, Patricius. Get to the point.”

You: “He… he helped me read this vision. After Anastasia died. I was depressed, I wanted to end it all. For a time I didn’t believe I was the Chosen One. I didn’t have any dreams at that time. I tried to… but he saved me. I was hurting bad, thought I’d die, and join Anastasia. But he somehow saved me. Since then I’ve just been… wandering.”

King Isaac: “Do you remember what he did, Patricius?”

Your memory is foggy, to say the least. It’s over a hundred years ago this all happened, and your headache is too terrible to concentrate on the finer details.

You: “No, sorry.”

King Isaac: “Hm, well, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but you’ve actually been quite fine help. I’ll hold up my end of the deal, you’ll have life imprisonment, but I’ll make sure that you’ll live a life of luxury. Agents, get the poor man some nutritious food and clean water.”

You are lightly lifted up by two Red Agents, and helped out the door. But just as you are about to leave to get some well-needed nutrition, you turn your head back and look into the eyes of King Isaac.

You: “You’re wasting your time on Joshua. I’m the Chosen One, that’s why I’m immortal. You aren’t. I am. Me… ME!!

Interesting. How dedicated are your people? (I’m not trying to convert you lol, I am actually wondering) Also do your priests have actual power? Or just Religious fervor?

Well the Ludist people really became who they are because of Kristusdom. The Ludists originally had to flee the Italian peninsula to the Balkans, because they were Arian. That’s where they met Hortensus, and where Kristusdom was officially founded. The Ludists continued fleeing till they settled in the Alps, and this history of refusing to convert has made them really zealous.

And while the average Priest would mostly just have religious fervour, the Patriarch and Archpriests definitely have political power as well.
