July 2736 Chancellor Elections

The Incumbent Chancellor, Lucia would unsurprisingly to most Columbians loose the Chancellorship elections to the Federalist People's Party. Granit Hayes failing to retain vital support from Kuat allowed the Federalist People's Party to win the Chancellorship election by around 10 electoral points. while Lucia will retain the chancellorship for another month. the transition to Granit Hayes should be completed by August 7th. Granit Hayes became a popular option after his work on the Hayes-Burvingtion Act which sucessuflly united Congress and the Imperial Senate into a joint list of punishments for the Untecan State. Since Dylan was unable to run due to being the Senate Minority leader for the FPP and the party being unable to agree on a replacement. in additon the FPP has gained a slim majority as Kuat Senators publically walked across the party lines and joined the FPP and managed to retain there seats during the Early Kuat Sentorial Elections. These elections have been however not without contreversy esspecially from native OREEP planets who were not allowed to vote as they had not been yet released from there territory status.

With this aswell, the Social Conservative wing of the Federalist People's Party has gained the Chancellorship technically aswell as Hayes was a member of it. In his inaugural speech he has promised to continue Columbia's participation in the sunflower war to a conclusion that would "Benefit the Interest of Columbia" increase what has been called "Corporate Welfare" and formerly pass the Buisness Representation Act which would theoretically allowed for Columbia's largest corporations to have non voting members of Congress. Announced his intention to once again increase the military budget cutting "unnecessary programs", citing the Cosmocracy as an "Evil Empire" that was a threat to "Columbian Democracy". And lastly to increase Columbian Military Participation in the IA. something that had already been ongoing under Lucia. He has also removed the current mixed cabinet and replaced them with FPP loyalists. And also began talking to the secretariat of justice about the viability of pardoning Kuat for there supposed "treason". although this meeting was kept on the downlow to prevent public outcry especially from the belt.

So the part about OREEP planets being unable to vote, is that a decision of the federal government, or of the regional government of the OREEP planets? I would like to know whether the OREEP planets given to The Belt would be able to vote in the election, since it could swing a bit more power to the BRP.

Also, the banning of BESO from Herzikland due to the terrorist allegations, could I use that precedent in terms of Kuat, and if so, to what extent? Would it be usable just on the Belter OREEP planets, or could I try and extend that to The Belt as a whole?

Also, would BESO be large enough to have government representation? I'd have to presume so, since they already took over the operations of one megacorp, plus a whole lot more on the OREEP planets, but the law could very easily be written to exclude them if the lawmakers so desired, which seems very likely.

Herzikland is a vassal. The Belt is not. So no you wouldn't be able to ban kuat. Belter OREEP planets voted. It was just oreep planets that haven't been organized and it was a decision by the Senate so Federal. They could petition the Senate for a non voting seat yeah

I know that feeling. It's so annoying when you have to restart a post when you put so much effort in
