Breaking News:

Prime Minister Theo Javri has began his Great Reforms (changes to the constitution and Rylolian social and political attitudes) by enacting a huge reshuffle of his cabinet. His Deputy Prime Minister, Chris Lien, a known centrist, has been replaced by Culture Secretary Kate Jackson, a prominent socialist; Secretary for Business, Lucy Mandigon, replaces Lily Petiè as Secretary for Home Affairs, Aaron Uranest, the young Secretary for Science, is the new Treasury Secretary and most notably is Hugh Andross. Andross has served as an MP for 57 years, since the age of 18, and is known as a veteran left-winger and hard socialist. He has previously only held very junior positions, such as Minister for Transportation, and his replacement of John Wilkin as International Secretary says a lot about Javri’s new government. However, a group of younger MPs and Senators (James Jkob, Annie Beckett, Sandra Kalgni and Ellie Evidson), known for their socially liberal views, have been promoted from backbenchers to Secretary for the Constitution, Secretary for Local Government and Communities, Secretary for Healthcare and Wellbeing and Secretary for Children and Education respectively.

Reforms have been enacted - proportional representation has replaced plurality voting, the nation has been split into 11 federalised areas and new laws concerning the environment, worker’s rights and international policy has been implemented.

However, a group including President Smith, Lien, around 70 MPs and 40 Senators have criticised the move, claiming it pushes Rylolania to the far left. We have heard reports of Lien attempting a coup against Javi, but these rumours are not confirmed.

Soo uuuuh what is this about?

Political role play really if nations want to support either Javri’s hard left government or Smith and Lien’s liberal position, go for it!

Well there are problems, if the Socialists gonna win how will you convert to socialism? You can only do it in an issue, and I'll tell you, they are rare

meh, I already got some deals with many people, and the only thing I'd support is the establishment of a puppet state, this is not meant to be aggressive or anything cuz we are not talking in RP, this is just my opinion

...what if we do a space race? I know this has already been proposed but it never launched. (Pun accidentally intended) If so then I won’t be participating. I can help with resources and such but I’d be better off in the sidelines.

Well most of RPs already failed the interest checks. Expanding territorities would mean either doing it here which is pretty much impossible since Zoygaria is boycotting RMB, somewhere else or in the space. Space race is one of failed ones and it hardly can be called space race since some countries were there longer then others and some do not have space projects yet. Besides that would problably means me and Uclosa fighting for control of moon and the space cannons for entire RP.

I suggest that we start RP that is involving for example: military exercises between nations, some sports or cooking competitions. Something that everyone could take part in but wouldnt mean mean everyone throwing superweapons at each other.

News worth mentioning

ARA is my half puppet now becouse my friend got bored by daily logging but wants to keep the nation going. I am just supposed to keep it monarchy, improve its civil rights a bit, keep military strong and generally do not screw it up. I am allowed to use it for RP purposes as long as I do not get it nuked. I will problably refrein from using it in RPs or making any radical changes. Well i had lots of involvment in its creation anyway so I guess it will be fine.

Im sure you are going to get one at some point just as ARA did. It will problably involve someone saying that you leader are so good blah blah blah why not become emperor or whatever blah blah blah. The weird thing in Nationstates is that you do not get things you expect and get ones that you do not expect. Noble issues may be too obvious and you problably become Monarchy after some weird issue in which it is 5th choice which doesnt really point out the effect. Anyway good luck.

Good for you! Now you can go monarchy issue hunting.

Also I attempted to revive operas in REU using television. Result was: ,,Teens are voting on which C-List pop star will be next to be evicted from the opera house.". I regret everything.

Election 2020 Results!

Major Presidential Candidates

Laura D Smith, 183,799,802
Hugh Andross, 161,112,131
Chris Lien, 160,899,974
Jacqueline Spencer, 118,987,776

In Parliament(900 Seats)

Progressive Alliance, 336
Socialist Party, 199
Conservative Unionists, 127

Social Democrats, 103
Centrist, 68
Republic, 66
Glory Party, 0
Independents, 92

Senate (200 Seats)

Conservative Unionist, 88
Progressive Alliance, 87
Centrist, 78
Social Democrats, 71
Socialist, 66
Republic, 39
Independents, the rest

So, a breakdown there. Laura Smith has been elected President once again, succeeding Acting President Hugh Andross by a fair majority. Smith will certainly serve over a coalition government, but that’s all to play for.

In Parliament, we have the Progressive Alliance on 336, that’s up 240, the Socialist Party on 199 that’s down 4, Conservative Unionists on 127 that’s down by 114, Social Democrats on 103 that’s down 1, Centrists on 68, that’s interesting as they went from the largest party (377) to this so that’s down 309, Republic on 66 up by 50, Glory Party now on 0 that’s down 3 and Independents/Non-Affiliated on 92, that’s up 70.

In the Senate we have the CUs on 88, that’s down 2, PA on 87 that’s up 32, Centrists on 78 that’s up 4, Social Democrats down 10 on 71, Socialists on 66 that’s up by 62, Republic on 39 that’s up 37, and the Non-Affiliated with the rest.

All in all, it’s a very good night for the Progressive Alliance. A modest result for the CAs, their parliamentary leader is expected to carry on. The Socialists had a good night, but not 400 seats like hoped, awful night for the Social Democrats and the Glory Party, expected to reform into the National People’s Front, a good night for the independents and of course a pleading result for Republic.
