Can you try giving a couple of moments of your time to say a couple of words on this potential angle of how the Jajalian separatist war played out. Keep in mind that on many of the videos posted on social media would show in between the heavy clashes, distinctly Cassadian speech or Slavic accented English from quite a sizable number from the “Jajalian” separatists, quite often.

Homosexuality was never explicitly illegal, although deeply secret and indecency laws could be used against it. However that changed in 1886, somewhat accidentally, in a series of reforms to undo unpopular legislation enacted under a previous conservative explicitly pro-catholic government.

Actually I've somewhat changed my mind. I'll promote it to only regions that seem to be serious enough.
We have always been quite far left, both socially and economically. We don’t discriminate against anyone. (And actually from a gameplay perspective, marriage equality was one of if not the first policies I got)

The LGBT community in Lightford has a very interesting and amazing history. However I'll currently only discuss legality. Other things such as attitudes, discrimination, marriage, expression, etc will be excluded. I'll make a detailed discussion if I had the chance.
The first sodomy laws were imposed on Lightford when England established its colonies there in the 1600's. Homosexuality wasn't per se illegal. Just sexual activity between members of the same sex. When Britain abolished the death penalty for homosexuality in 1861, Lightford was the only former British colony to retain the death penalty for that as a result of becoming independent 60 years earlier. That remained until 1961 where the punishment was downgraded to a prison sentence
Homophobic laws intensified in 1920 when the Normalcy in Sexuality Act and the Propaganda and Criminal Syndicalism Control Act has explicitly criminalized homosexuality. Even homosexual contact (such as kissing or hugging) and attraction were now illegal. Homosexuality was finally decriminalized in on 15 June, 1977 in the Supreme Court case Palmer vs Shallfrisle where the court held that there's a fundamental right of privacy.

Our laws in regards to same-sex activity, including political activities for the advocacy of such acts are forbidden as they are in violation of Royal Law whose foundation as a legal framework is built upon the Holy Bible, and thus legislation in the modern day has been continuously updated to meet new challenges of those underground agents who propagate foreign subversive elements that seek to undermine the explicitly codified Christian moral character of our Holy Kingdom.

Ejorike, sexual activity between members of the same sex is a criminal offense, which often is punished with lengthy prison sentences. Ejorikean prisons are not exactly known for being humane, at least not for poor commoners.Homosexual feelings in and of themselves are not a criminal offense in Ejorike, but they are considered a valid reason for involuntary commitment in psychiatric care. Of course, not everyone can afford a place in asylum for their homosexual relative, but it is a possibiliy for those who can.
When the Socialist Republic of 
Ejoland was created in the Ejolandic revolution, the newly created state did not accept Ejorikean law as legit, and did set out to create its own laws instead. There was still a lot of homophobic attitudes, but noone cared enough to ban homosexuality, not with everything else there was to organize in society.
When Ejoland created its own rules for mental health treatment, the usage of involuntary commitment got a lot more restricted than it had been under the Kingdom. Thus, homosexuality did not become a valid reason for it. Slowly, the general attitude changed and became more tolerant, so homosexuality never got banned.
Of course, Ejoland´s few conservatives insist that the country rightfully belong to Ejorike, and thus claim that Ejorikean law apply there. So according to them, homosexuality is still illegal, even if the rebel faction that control the country do not treat it as such.
Typical of these right wingers to ban things for no reason. Laws should be made by starting from a position of ‘everything is legal’ and then making laws against things based on empirical harm to others. These moralistic bigots, however, seem to come from a position of ‘everything is illegal’ and only allow things based on their thousands of years old ‘holy’ books.
