Goathland wrote:Indeed, I do not believe the pharma should be charged, but their methods should most definitely be held to higher scrutiny and regulations. Same goes for the doctor.

I agree. The doctor should have some civil liability I feel, since he did ignore the patient's wish.

Rysberget wrote:Yes, but when your courts found Mrs. Bell guilty of murder, that shifted legal blame onto her. We can't say in one court its the drug's fault, and then in another that it was the mother's fault. It has to be one or the other.

But should there not be some parliamentary meeting on reforming drug testing standards?

Hold public hearings questioning the CEOs on their company’s policies on testing methods of the new drugs. It does not necessarily need to be a legal dispute as the focus should be to place public pressure on the companies and doctors to reform themselves.

Social Democrats have been trying to pass more stringent regulations on the pharma industry for half a decade, but have been challenged by the Liberals.

There is a quandary that isn’t there.. As we see it in Goathland An innocent person has died as a result of negligence on the part of a pharmaceutical company to do due diligence in drug testing, a doctor to respect the concerns of patients, and too most wrong, a mother using mentioned drug as an excuse to Commit murder. Ultimately the public there will weigh their response to it, no?

Yes, but as of right now the Rysberget Federal Health Council has ordered the health system to not use the drug further. Social Democrats could call for a hearing on the issue, but with my country's right winged government at the moment (which is likely to loose the next election according to recent polling) it is unlikely to get approved. The Social Democrats would have to convince one of the coalition parties to go against the government on this issue. The doctor is not within our control sadly, as they are outside of Rysberget judicial jurisdiction. The public, so far, has not been interviewed on the topic. The SD will be pushing for new laws to be introduced on the topic.

The Arganorh Union's Executive Committee has referred the drug to be reviewed by the Union's Health Commission, who will rule on its safety and revise guidelines.

Understood. The SD opposition is pushing for these drugs to be reviewed, and encourages high pharma standards across the world.

We place trust in that the good system in place there will sort the matter out through one channel or another. It is a very well conceived move to reverse use of this drug. That being said, it is All too Common for issues concerning public fairness to be left to the scrappy hungering hands of political factions to deal with instead of the populace direct. Careful consideration on the part of the governing body will be the best path in which we have absolute trust that this will be the direction taken. We’ve weighed our outlook on the matter in its entirety, and we leave the final movement to the people to instigate necessary changes.

Yes, as our health system is funded entirely by the public, the health commission was quick to remove the drug from our health system, but there is much debate over what proper testing methods should entail. We will have to review current testing laws, and the SD would like to meet with the head of the company to review their individual testing methods.

Also Goathland we would like to work with you and other Aesurdahan nations to revise and review product standards crossing borders on the continent.

We feel that our drug testing procedures along with our approval process laws are up to the task of ensuring the safety of our citizens and those who buy them in other nations. Whatever example you wish to borrow from our laws is acceptable to us.

Well as of right now us and other Aesurdah nations are wanting to hold a summit discussing trade, standards, and culture. If you would be wishing to join us in this summit to further relations with your neighboring nations.

Acceptable.

Wonderful. I will be getting all of the Aesurdah nations together within a few minutes.
