Hmmm... In the bad old days the military would make a civilian life mechanic a cook just because they wanted to train their people their way. Guess things are changing.

Oh they'll still train you, but I'm guessing for the more technical jobs they want you to have an idea of what you're doing. That way they don't waste money on a rocket technician just to have them fail out of school and reclass into a less technical career.
If I wasn't so old, I'd be down there with my degree and my satcomms experience. I think I would make a fine Colonel in the Space Force. (I kind of doubt they would put me in as a general.)
However, what is keeping you from grabbing some skills at home until the lock down is over?

National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day
On May 18th, National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day annually recognizes thousands of volunteers, community members, health professionals, and scientists who work together to find a safe and effective HIV vaccine.
The day also promotes continued awareness and education concerning HIV vaccine research. Over 30 years have passed since HIV was identified as the cause of AIDS. However, researchers continue in their mission to develop a vaccine. While treatments and preventative measures exist to help those impacted by HIV and AIDS, a viable vaccine is still the only means to prevent its spread.
Around the world, 37.9 million people are living with HIV/AIDS. Additionally, the virus seems to spread the most in the poorest and most underprivileged communities in the world. They have the least access to educational information, preventative measures, and medical treatment.
This observance focuses on the continued need to develop a successful vaccine for HIV.
HOW TO OBSERVE #HIVVaccineAwarenessDay
For more information on events and activities visit the National Institutes of Health website and use #HIVVaccineAwarenessDay and #HVAD to post on social media.
NATIONAL HIV VACCINE AWARENESS DAY HISTORY
Organized by the National Institute of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, this day is also a day to educate our communities about the importance of preventive HIV vaccine research. Community activities and media events are being held around the country in recognition of the observance.

Nyah ha ha ha! I had no idea that movie was based on a book.
But you are a Heart Attack Survivor like me. So since I am much younger than you, do you think I have any chance of joining the Space Force? ;)
By the way:
1. How long did it take you to make a FULL recovery after your Heart Attack? I feel like I am not recovering fast enough.
2. Are you still on the road Buddy? Please take care of yourself because should anything bad happen to you, you will be sorely missed by everyone of us in Texas. That said, may God Bless and Protect you Buddy, because I have been praying for your safety.

National Devil's Food Cake Day
When you’re doing desserts, why go halfway? Rich in flavor and moist in texture, devil’s food cake is a favorite for chocolate-lovers. They get their chance to celebrate their love for the dessert on National Devil’s Food Cake Day, held on May 19. With devil’s food cake, you get all the taste, and all the chocolate.
Devil’s food cake is not your ordinary chocolate cake. It’s a unique mix of ingredients that brings out the chocolate. Recipes often call for boiling water, instead of milk, and some even add coffee to bring out the chocolate flavor! Mixing science with desserts, the cake gets its darker color from its higher pH levels due to the added baking soda. The cake uses cocoa instead of chocolate squares, making it even fluffier! Some say the cake gets its name to distinctly contrast from the Angel’s food cake, which is much lighter in comparison. As more and more types of cakes have been created over the years, “devil’s food cake” is often used as a catch all name for a super-choclatety cake that doesn’t have nuts.
NATIONAL DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE DAY ACTIVITIES
Have a bake-off!
Invite over all your friends and have a devil’s food cake taste-test. Judge cakes based on overall look, flavor, and moistness. Make sure to keep the baker’s identities a secret to not throw off any of the judging or sway votes! Give out prizes like the coveted blue ribbon or a coupon to take a baking class!
Test out your local bakeries
This day calls from some extensive research. Do a little google-ing to see which places offer the extra-chocolatey goodness, and put together your delicious itinerary of stops to try. Take along a friend and see if you agree on which cake was the best! Make sure to take pictures at each stop and tag them on social media with #NationalDevilsFoodCakeDay!
Read up on devil’s food cake lore
Although there are conflicting tales, and published cookbooks to contradict the story, legend has it that the devil’s food cake was created at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. One account even suggests that a customer loved the cake so much, that she asked for the recipe. The customer got the recipe, but it came with a price—the Waldorf also served her a bill for $100. Now that’s an expensive cake!
WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE DAY
It’s a delightful indulgence
Studies have shown that we enjoy food more when it feels like an indulgence, and nothing says "indulgence" more than a cake named after the devil himself. If we've had a bad day or are in need of some good old fashion chocolate comfort food, nothing feels like more what the doctor ordered than a slice of the richest most indulgent cake there is.
It’s an alternative to other lighter cakes
Sure, a nice bundt or white cake can do the trick, but sometimes you just want something a little more. Devil’s food cake will cure that sweet tooth and leave you coming back for seconds. You can go even bigger by picking a version with rich chocolate frosting! Pair it with a nice cold glass of milk, or make it more of a treat with a cup of coffee!
It is is chocolate cake on steroids
This cake is not for the faint of heart, or the casual chocolate enthusiast. This cake is for the serious, gotta have some chocolate fanatic. Over the years, devil’s food cake recipes have added more and more chocolate, even exchanging plain chocolate for cocoa to bring out the taste. The cake is widely considered richer, darker, and fluffier than regular chocolate cake.

National Be a Millionaire Day
When you think of being a millionaire, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? It could be the ability to buy whatever you want, travel the world, practice philanthropy on a grand scale, or just eliminating debt. Whatever your personal dreams may be, let’s all celebrate National Be a Millionaire Day on May 20, by doing at least one thing that makes us feel like a million. Try these: get a spa treatment, test-drive an exotic car, or at the very least, treat yourself to a special cocktail or coffee.
The point is, while you’re on your way to becoming a millionaire, focus now on whatever it is that makes you feel rich!
NATIONAL BE A MILLIONAIRE DAY ACTIVITIES
Make a list of steps
Do you need to take some classes? Do you need to take a look at your retirement portfolio? What could you do now to set yourself up for success later? Don't start off with something hard; think of simple steps that will pay off (pun intended) later.
Take a class
Learning the ins and outs of 401Ks, IRAs, and investment strategies now may help get you moving toward your first million.
Use helpful apps
Everyone knows that once you have a million dollars you will have to know how to manage all that cash! Start now by downloading an app that tracks all your bank accounts so that you can easily keep track of your money. Getting practice will help you when you have millions to manage.
WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL BE A MILLIONAIRE DAY
Have any plans?
When millionaires are asked about how they achieved their financial goals, they tend to have certain, sometimes surprising actions in common. Maybe it's practicing frugality, saving regularly, or planning for their financial futures. All of these habits focus on what’s really important to you (which is different for everyone), and that means being very clear on what you actually want. This focus is the key to long-term planning
It's good to have goals
Proper goal setting can help make larger, intimidating aspirations smaller and more achievable by acting like stepping stones. When you set goals, you fuel your ambition and ensure that your life is geared towards getting the most out of every moment.
One step at a time
Any holiday that encourages people to get moving toward goals is a great one! Take the steps towards becoming a millionaire: get financial advice, find extra sources of income, save, live within your means, and commit to becoming a millionaire.
