In the early days of Lerasi, it was a city-state. This city-state was quite influencial amongst the ancient peoples that lived in the region now synonymous with the term Lerasi. It was powerful in its own right, and ancient.

The first foreign settlement was that of the immigrant Scandinavians. The free city of Vindholm still stands today, renamed as Tavari. The Reformed Tyrists soon followed, cementing the Reformed Tyrist Kraterocracy on the northeast coast of modern day Lerasi.

The Third Hispanic Dynasty colonized the Dolorem Peninsula long after Lerasian settlers set up small towns. The city of Dolorem linked up over sixty percent of those towns, and the Lerasian population mixed with the hispanics.

After Dolorem declared independence, the Republic of Dolorem, the Reformed Tyrist Kraterocracy, the Free City of Vindholm, and the Lerasian Republic occupied the entirety of the Core Lerasian Territories today.

These states soon fell, but their legacy remained. After the collapse of Demiurges, the peoples of the current Core Territories formed the United Republics of Lerasi. This was quickly reformed into the Sovereign Dominion of Lerasi under the High Council, which elected high speakers every decade. This all changed, however, when High Speaker Harald Bor came to power.

The invasions that following upped the population a great deal, and captured two Algerstonese islands and large tracts of land in the Militant Communist Regime.

The MCR lands were the least content. A few small riots and protests evolved way too quickly to full scale rebellion. The Federal Legions recaptured all of the rebelling lands after Martial Law was declared.

After Harald Bor ordered the execution of Strategic Coordinator Geoffrey Dale, Bor took the throne and announced a reformed government to combat the remnants of the rebellion and establish and maintain order in the new Meritocratic Sovereignty of Lerasi.

Sovereign Harald Bor managed to maintain a relatively orderly and prosperous country until his murder, which placed the aging Minister of Diplomacy, George Pine, on the throne.

George Pine suffered a heart attack shortly after he came to power, and, without an heir, Lerasi was in a frenzy. A few opportunistic warlords arose until they were crushed by Lord Protector Louis Alderman of East Pacalis, the new Strategic Coordinator, and now the de facto Regent.

After his home territory, East Pacalis, broke free, Lord Protector Louis Alderman officially established a new, reformed Republic, under a new ideology merging the best parts of the former Lerasian states with new ideas that would unify and protect the citizens and their rights. Alderism took off, and Louis Alderman was declared the Lord Protector of Lerasi, a title that would usurp that of Sovereign. Immedietly afterwards, the old title of Lord Protector was dropped in favor of the current title, Warden.

Having to maintain a Republican Empire, Louis Alderman established trade deals, nonaggression pacts, defensive alliances, cities, and protectorates, forming the Lerasian Empire.

Protectorates are treated as Provinces with privileges. Those privileges are higher levels of autonomy.

Good Evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is Republik Nachrichten, with the evening report.

Parliamentary elections are nearly upon us, and this race is shaping up to be one of the most contested in Ostarian history. Four parties are going at it. The stern ÖKP is attempting to hold its position as the dominant party by campaigning for family values and conservative economics as well as unity to try and hold, although the nation’s faith and approval of the party is at an all time low. The chancellor himself only has an approval rating of about 21%.

The main opposition is the SDP, which has sprung upon the ÖKP after having to tag along side them. The SDP has been campaigning everywhere to try and gain a foothold, and has campaigning for workers rights, ending the economic recession through socialist policies, and peace with our former enemies.

This, hasn’t gone without anger and conflict between them and the newly reformed Honor Party. Though they have no seats, they are taking the nation by storm, they charismatic leader, Oskar Eroberer, predicting a whopping 40 seats in this election cycle. Many more Honor Party candidates are running in many more districts and the main base of the ÖKP and even chunks of the SDP are drifting toward’s this ultranationalistic revanchist Party.

The finale party is the Linkspartei, which has been diving down the deep end. They’ve always been the their party tag along, but the new campaigning of the SDP and rise of the Honor Party have nearly soaked out the base of the LP. Only time will tell if this party survives.
