Hearing the bells' commotion, the men in front picked up speed. Twenty huge siege ladders, the only thing remotely similar to siege engines in the Tyrist arsenal, are deployed, and the Knights begin climbing. The ones with smaller weapons, like single-handed swords or axes, with the occasional hammer here and there, go first, keeping their shields on their backs and making themselves small targets. Their goal is to make it to the top and distract the guards while the remaining Tyrists climb.

The first wave sees two Tyrist knights climbing each ladder, with the second knight hiding behind the first to keep themselves even more shielded. The remaining Tyrists hold their position at the ladder, ready to defend it or to climb it, whatever their King may command of them.

A couple dozen out of the large host carry longbows and some arrows. They aim their powerful bows, which are anywhere from 50-100 pounds in draw weight, and they launch the razor sharp arrows at the guards atop the walls.

In an attempt to spread chaos and confusion, King Gotthard orders a few men set fire to the gate and any wood structures they can reach. Fires are additionally lit in the grass to either side of the army to create a shield of flames and smoke that would protect them from the line of sight of potential enemies. They leave an outlet open just in case they need to retreat.

To augment the chaos and confusion of all the volleys of arrows, flames and smoke, and climbing soldiers, the rest of the host bang their weapons on their armor or shields and shout battle cries. Whether to increase their own morale, or to scare or confuse the Hispanics, it is hard to say.

(OOC: Idk how realistic this is because I have never written medieval battles before and my formerly strong memory of irl medieval tactics and such is fading into obscurity while the fantasy is coming out.)

I got questions before I respond:

Where are the Tyrists climbing up their ladders on? And did they actually reach the castle walls? I'm getting confused.

OOC: Nvm, I found out after reading again. I am stupeed. Plus you get an extra ping >:p

IC:

- "ˇEntrante!" - Yelled one man seeing a rain of sharp arrows coming at them. With the wooshing and hitting sounds of sharp arrows, about seven arquebusiers die from it. One arquebusier gets hit, but thanks to his armor, it stopped the arrow from piercing his skin, he flinched when it hit him, then, he took the arrow and proceeded to throw it like it was a stick fallen from a tree.

The commander Castrillón could sense the smell of the smokes made by fires lit up by the Tyrists, he remembers those who have trained him saying that lit up fires could be distractions, so he does not command a single Serpie arquebusier from the walls, but does command non-Serpie units to head for the directions of possible fires and the gates. Castrillón then yells:

- "ˇArcabuceros!" - Arquebusiers listened to his yelling, aiming their arquebuses at the climbing Tyrists with siege ladders. With the sound of a sword sheathing and one step, Castrillón yells one word of command: - "ˇFUEGO!" - With that, Serpie units pull the thin triggers of their gunpowder arquebuses, making sounds similar to a thunder and shooting small armor-penetrating rounds at the climbing Tyrists. Some arquebusiers even lit some wooden pieces in fire and throw it to siege towers. Those that have fired have some long times reloading their rifles (considering post-medieval firearms took very long to reload).

While some arquebusiers are firing, twenty Serpie units, being cannon manners, gulped at the Tyrists roaring and beating their chests with swords, axes and blades alike, but it did not stop them from loading the cannons. Each one Serpie lit the cannons with torches after loading them with rounds, then firing said rounds at the Tyrists who were not part of the climbing.

Both Serpie and non-Serpie units have readied their swords, crossbows and pikes in case the walls are breached.
