The signal had arrived.

"Go! Go! Go!" The Citadelle Royale Naval Submarine yard moved with patriotic vigor as the proud men and women of the Gorbastani mainland hurried off to their battle stations. Like a well-made Gorbastani watch, machines whirred back and forth, submarines were being sent out by the minute.

A Lieutenant of one of the submarines beckoned to a group of regular seamen who were awaiting orders. "WE NEED TO GET MOVING! COME ON, WE NEED TO GET TO THE DESIGNATED SECTOR IN FIFTEEN MINUTES!"

"YES MA'AM!"

Bells at the naval yard signalled each release of every single one of the hundreds of submarines. Eventually, silence befell the naval yard. Not a single soul dare speak as this operation was to be the largest military commitment in Gorbastan's history.

[---]

The humming of the tanks filled the streets. A temporary traffic ban was set in place to facilitate an easier mobilization. Residents of Torselchester gave way to the steel behemoths of the G8 tanks. The pride of the Gorbastani Ground Forces.

Tank Commanders peered through their open hatches, saluting and waving to the civilians of the national capitol area.
"Polly, can you hand me my tea, please?" It was Gabriel's first time actually doing a full-fledged military operation. His stomach churned in what was practically a mix of excitement and fear.
The tank loader handed him his cup of Earl Grey tea. It wasn't a regular teacup, it was the military-sanctioned metal canisters. "Here, and the name's Apollo by the way..."
Gabriel accepted the canister with his two hands and took a sip of he piping hot tea. "Thanks Polly, just the right thing to drink in a cold afternoon."

Gabriel's platoon was part of the First Offensive line. The group was ordered to march into Sminishia and regroup with the Sminishian People's Army and consolidate the forces from there to launch the upcoming operation the next day.

A military air traffic control tower beamed over the runway, the stationary structure directing the many flying weaponized birds in the sky this afternoon. "Squadron 578, the runway is yours."

Just those words spoken was enough to get a squadron of seven jets onto the runway and lift off in a mere few minutes.

Gorbastani air doctrine states the importance of tactical strikes on ground targets. Whether it be key locations on the battlefront or a military headquarters, Close-Air Support was the Air Force's specialty. They were to protect frontline troops as much as possible and destroy key objectives.

"Squadron 578 approximated time-of-arrival... 21:18."

General Marchand opened the mahogany doors to Elliot's office. "Prime Minister, the Royal Gorbastani Armed Forces have been mobilized. We're awaiting the coalition's main advance."

Pierre Elliot nodded. "Thank you General, the war declaration is ready as we've promised. The cabinet and House has your full support."

"And Her Majesty?"

The Prime Minister laughed. "What about Her Majesty? Do you expect her to ride on a horse and lead our armoured divisions?"

"Very well Prime Minister. We will await the declaration."

With Gabriel's Platoon marching into Sminishia, the Sminishian People's Army have greeted the said platoon, but shortly after, they have started moving in as well. An army of twelve ground divisions (six mechanized infantry, one complete infantry, four armored divisions of Main Battle Tanks and one mobile artillery of any kind) led by General Vulksan Slivkin move along to mobilize.

The 57th Fighter squadron and 20th Multi-Role Fighter squadron have been mobilized in air bases nearby the destination of where the army will be. At the seas of Sminishia, two submarines and a fleet of warships are mobilized as well, keeping guard of the coastlines of Sminishia.

Along with her majesty of Gorbastan, the forces await for Ziva Stasov for her declaration as well.

Rage mage wrote:Late in the night, a lone merchant vessel is creeping its way across the ocean off the coast of Gran YucanoaThe night is quiet, and the oceans calm. Suddenly, a loud explosion rips through the air. Screams and smoke fill the sky. Soon loud pops could be heard. Then silence. As fire billows from the still floating wreck, a message begins to play across the long range radio.

MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY

A figure walks into the radio room, silently he lays a note next to the distress beacon. And walks out.

The metal ship suddenly turns south, it’s engines at full power, a crowbar wedged into the helm, preventing a course change. The ship sails onward, towards the coast, burning and crying for help.

Could be worse.
There was a British miliary ship in WW2 that got sunk.
By a friendly ship.
An unarmed troop transport.
Because the captain drove it directly in front of the other ship.
