The final preparations had been completed. President Bernadotte had begun the setup for the summit with the other HL leaders months in advance, a mere couple of weeks after taking office. He had decided on holding the summit at Fort León, a castle that had been built during the mid twentieth century that had been retrofitted into a luxury bunker for political elites during the late 1990’s. It was well hidden, being located an hours drive from the nearest city, with only a handful of nearby villages. The halls and rooms were all lavishly decorated, and the entire building seemed to stand out from the rest of the larger structures in the nation, as it wasn’t littered with propaganda posters, paintings, or signs. Because of that, it’s beauty gave it an atmosphere totally different from the other government buildings. It was a true symbol of beauty of prosperity, a peace of propaganda of its own. It stood out from the countryside, which was beautiful in its own right as well. It all had to be beautiful, as it was an attempt to impress the closest allies of the Confederation. The People’s National Orchestra was to be preforming at the summit, had practiced the national anthems of Tanabon, Brittania, Arirang, and the Supple Confederation until they all sounded flawless. Iakobos himself was more than ready for the summit. For the first time since taking office, he would be meeting face to face with other foreign leaders. He was aware of the tension his rise to power had caused, as the young socialist state was eyed with suspicion from even the closest of allies, but this didn’t worry him. Bernadotte was a powerful man from a powerful country, and he had even prepared a military parade to show off his power. If the summit turned out to be a failure, he would at least make sure to assert his position on the world stage, and secure the safety of his nation from the threat posed by the plutocratic democracies of the west.
