If any bribe is heard, the author will inmediately be kicked of his/her position, and if the one that's getting bribed accepts, he'll/she'll also get kicked.

The Republic of Lungha, also known as Lungha or referred to as The Republic, is an nation located off the eastern coast of South Osea. The Nation is classified into four distinct territories as the Republic covers a vast area dominated by the sea. These territories are the Home Islands, The Southern Isles, The Emerald Atolls, and The Mainland. The Home Islands of the Lunghan people, called Lunghayun, is located in the Emerald Sea, south of the Republic of Antiyard and East of Pandoska. The largest of the Home Islands is called Maumadao, which is home to the capital and largest cities in the Republic. The Southern Isles are comprised of two large islands with surrounding smaller islands. The Largest of these islands is called XX. The Emerald Atolls are a region of sparsely populated island clusters located centrally in the Emerald Sea, that have become important strategic territories of the Republic in terms of natural resources and defensive capabilities. The Mainland is comprised of territories formerly occupied the integrated into the Republic following the Collapse of Toshavo and the subsequent South Osean Wars. These territorial holdings are located on the Eastern coast of South Osea and are bordered by Pandoska to the north and west. The climates in these regions vary from subtropical to warm continental weather. The humidity and consistent rainfall erode mountains making for dramatic mountains and mighty rivers that run throughout the different territories. Lungha has an approximate population of 383 million people, thanks in part to the mega-cities that dot its coastlines and the warm wet climate that allows for rich agricultural harvests. The majority of the population is located on the Home Island with the Emerald Atolls being sparely populated.

The Lunghan Republic is a federal parliamentary government with an executive head, often titled "Chairman" or retaining their armed forces title, being elected through popular vote by the people. Following the South Osean Wars, The United Democratic League have maintained a super majority in the Republics parliament for almost 50 years. The stability the government has provided has led to leaps in national modernization of infrastructure, defense capabilities and human rights. Critics of the Republic utter that it is not a true democracy calling out voter suppression sponsored by the UDL. While criticism of the party has continues counter critics cite the massive growth in personal wealth and economic freedom the government has given to the people. Easily accessible capital in the form of loans and credit is not restricted by class or ethnicity, gender or religious preference and has enabled the creation of a robust and diversified manufacturing and service based economy based around domestic and international consumerism.

Lungha is a recognized nuclear weapons state, boasting an array of short and medium range ballistic missiles. The extremely high defense budget of Lungha's focuses primarily on naval power projection to protect its maritime trade interests abroad.

HISTORY

Ancient Lungha

Ancient Lunghan Bronzes Circa 12th-14th Century BCE

This history of Lungha is truly vast. Legend tells that Lungha is told to be descended from an ancient civilization that ruled over Osea, other more fantastical tales say that a great dragon rose from the sea looking to eat shrimp near the surface. It was in such a rush to devour the shrimp that its tail became trapped in seaweed. Using all its strength the mighty dragon dragged the seafloor up creating the islands of Lungha. While creative and whimsical, the scientific evidence points to a very different story of Lungha and its people.

Through rigorous archeological studies of the area the Islands of Lungha remained largely unpopulated until approximately 3500BCE. It is around this time that archeologists have discovered human remains and artifacts. From this fairly ancient time burial rituals became more common where the dead were given funerary artifacts such as pottery, bone jewelry often engraved with a rudimentary form of the sophisticated language that has persisted to this day, called 廣東話(Cantonese). DNA studies of human remains found at burial site where these relics were located show evidence that Lunghayun and peoples from Beigoujia have distinct common ancestors. The diverse range of where these DNA groups have settled indicate there may have been a prehistoric diaspora caused by a currently unknown phenomenon.

Scientists now hypothesize that Lungha saw exploration groups from Northern Osea as early as 3200 BCE near the beginning of the bronze age. Buried ship hulls and bronzes indicate there was a significant number of migrants to the islands during the first hundred years of the bronze age. These groups of people were able to establish small fishing villages along the Lunghan coast and adding to their diet though foraging for tubers and gathering fruit. They constructed their villages primarily of bamboo and softwoods with important cultural gathering sites made of stone.

Following the discovery of these ancient fishing villages, researchers at the Xuijing University Department of Anthropology were able to date the introduction of agriculture to Lungha. By 2000 BCE rice agriculture exploded on the river deltas and plains of the home island, agricultural villages based societies cropped up all over Maomado in an explosion of population. At this time written records became more common, depicting clans, their harvests and agreements made with other clans. A system of hierarchy based on clan strength took root through out Maomaodo and the first rice kingdoms formed. Skirmishing between clans became more frequent as competition for metals intensified. It is during this period that Lunghan bronze work became more elaborate than ever before. Everything from arrowheads to vessels and jewelry were constructed from bronze. A small but talented artisan class was beginning to emerge. The population of Lungha began to increase rapidly, perhaps with a 10-fold rise over this time period. Calculations of the population size of this period have varied from 1 to 4 million. Archaeological sites possess large structures suggestive of grain storehouses. This shift was accompanied by an increase in both the stratification of society and tribal warfare, indicated by segregated gravesites and military fortifications.

Classical and Imperial Lungha

14th century Fujin Castle, Shanxi Province, Maomadao.

A militarism that remains in the spirit of the nation today began to form with the numerous wars between clans eventually forming the classical kingdoms of Lungha. In 300 BCE, developments in furnaces transformed iron and steel working from a curiosity to a valuable skill. Iron artifacts of the period include farm implements, arrowheads, and rarely a knife blade.

allowing for the creation of the deadliest swordsmen to serve their kingdoms in battle. Harnessing the strength of steel a warrior prince named, Yui Shan, launched an attack on the three remaining kingdoms unifying the Home Islands for the first time. This was the creation of the first Lunghan dynasty, the Yui Dynasty.

The Enlightened Revolution and the Republic

Destruction of the Imperial Fleet during the
Enlightened Revolution of 1828

The Enlightened Revolution was a movement in Lungha far older than the revolution itself. In the 16th and 17th centuries the scientific revolution was taking hold in Anea. The period saw a fundamental transformation in scientific ideas across mathematics, physics, astronomy, and biology in institutions supporting scientific investigation and in the more widely held picture of the universe. Spurring from this was a second movement that would have a lasting influence on Lunghan societal development.

The Enlightenment was a movement of the 17th and 18th centuries in which ideas concerning God, reason, nature, and humanity were synthesized into a worldview that gained wide assent throughout Osea and that instigated revolutionary developments in art, philosophy, and politics. Central to Enlightenment thought were the use and celebration of reason, the power by which humans understand the universe and improve their own condition. The goals of rational humanity were considered to be knowledge, freedom, and happiness.

While Confusionist dogma had dominated Lunghan politics and society for millenia, it was becoming more and more challenged by scholars who returned from abroad with ideas of the Enlightenment. Philosopher Sam Ting Wong effectively challenged the Emperors Mandate of Heaven in his First Treatise of Civil Government (1785), propounding the idea of a social contract between the ruler and his subject and affirming the principle that the people had the right to challenge unjust imperial power.

As time progressed foreign influence as well as drug trafficking in the Empire prompted and uprising to remove foreigners. In the five year uprising foreigners were expelled and the nation closed itself off from the world only to be forced open after suffering a great defeat at the hands of imperialist powers crippling the Maisung Dynasty prompting the 1828 Enlightened Revolution which forcibly abolished the monarchy and formed the Republic of Lungha.

The opening of Lungha to foreign trade and ideas lead to the integration of various ethnic groups in Lunghan society. Whether they are naturalized or foreign workers there is a tolerance between one another with a guarantee of equal treatment by the government of the Home Islands. In order to serve the many different ethnic groups the government of Lungha has declared four national languages with English being the primary language of government and business.
