Greatly wrote:Ah, I see. Sounds like you need to hear about some good old pacifist war tactics!

Tactic 1: Lie
One of the most basic deterrents to any possible attacker is the threat of military action. However, as a pacifist, your military may not be very strong. What you should do in that case is simply lie to them into being discouraged from attacking you, claiming that your military is far stronger than theirs. If they actually take the time to look at your nation, they’ll see that this is false, and you’ll need to fall back on another tactic, but if they don’t, this simple strategy should work just fine.

A variation on tactic 1 is appealing to them, lying and pretending that you’re the kind of nation they like. See, Santamar hates pacifists. They actually tried (but failed) to invade me once just because they were so fed up with my pacifist ideology. If you want to earn their respect and keep stability between the two of you, publicly adopting pacifism may not be the way to go.

Need to hear about more pacifist tactics?

Huh?

This is an amazing opportunity to rickroll you, but I won't

Awakening from it's slumber, from the ashes of a previous civilization, the eagle rises once more. Making it's way up the rubble, it scans the land, far and wide. Slowly taking flight into it's skies, the eagle sees that beyond his lands, there is but nothing left. Slowly gliding down, energy beginning to flow out of the earth below it, the eagle is stopped, as a grand new world appears before him. Like crossing an invisible portal, the ashes that once were have now been replaced by green, lush trees, surrounded by several hundred meter tall skyscrapers. The sound of the city invades his ears, and with it, the eagle finds itself rising to the skies once more.

A different form;
A new life.

=============================

The Rynese Confederation. Home to over 180 million citizens of various different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, it is the eagle that rises from the ashes that once lay where it stands. Ruled by Kaiserrin Victoria 'Inferno' von Bismarck, from the Imperial Capital of Berlin, within the reaches of the Kingdom of Ryshun - the leading Kingdom within the confederation. Stretching from east to west, Ryshun as a political entity handles everything that has to do with foreign affairs, with the National Assembly of the Rynese Confederation handling anything that happens within it's borders.

A booming industrial sector further west, along the banks of the Rhine and the early Dënub, along with a booming Bohemian industry ensure that the needs of the nation are met, whether that be electronics, vehicles, food supplies, or anything else from the over 33 sectors of industry. Most industrial companies have unionized into what is dubbed the "Inter-Union Plenary of Workers" or, as it is most often called, the "National Convention of Workers" (IUPW/NCW). Working alongside of the National Assembly, the NCW ensures good work environments and a stable, high minimum wage for all workers within the nation. Founded as a way to ensure that private companies were unable to form large coalitions that would monopolize the Rynese industrial landscape, the NCW is currently looking outside of the nation, to invite foreign investment and foreign companies to settle within Rynese borders.

Culturally speaking, the Rynese Confederation is made up of mostly Saxon-descendant peoples, that being High Saxons themselves - which are the natural evolution of Old Rynese, which itself is an Old Saxon evolution - and the High Rhein Rynese and High Rynese. Further south, along the centerline of the nation and to the far east, you can find the Polish and their cultural subgroups, and along the middle line of the nation, the Higher and Lower Styrian culture groups - which are not all that dissimilar from High Rynese, though closely bonded with Asoten, Slavic and Kanagawan cultures - dominate the region. In the far southwestern corner of the nation, the majority Frankish peoples live, and to the southeast, Kroaten and Bosnean cultures persist, alongside the Srpskan peoples. One of the most important cultures, however, is the Kasogawan culture. It is by far the most unnaturally named culture group, as it shares more with the Rynese-Styrian groups than Kanagawan or Asoten, however, it lies between Kanagawa and Aso, and is influenced - if to a lesser degree - by them.

A different type of culture which is present all throughout every inch of soil within the nation is car culture. Home to over 500 racetracks within it's borders, ranging from rally stages to dirt oval circuits, to over 20 kilometre long Green Hells and 6.1 kilometer long Formula R racing circuits, the Rynese Confederation is proud to call itself the home of motorsports. The industry of vehicular construction - on a professional level - is one of the most important within the nation, alongside electronics and software. Vehicles ranging from K-sized (Kei Car) to bulky 4-door sedans roam the streets freely alongside racing-perfected monster machines capable of over 400 kilometers per hour thanks to extremely lax vehicle registration laws that ensure that the roads in Ryshun are as diversely populated as the nation itself is. Car culture is so deeply rooted within the nation that even Herr Kaiserrin is known within the racing world as an endurance racing driver, driving the Number #55 Mazda Motorsports 787B2, with the RENOWN Parts (A.G.) livery.

One of the most important oddities of the Confederation, however, is it's close links to the arcane.

At least 4% of the population of the Empire figuratively or truly have some sort of arcane power within them, or have direct links to the arcane through the blood that runs in their veins. There are also arcane races of people, such as the High Elves and Dark Elves - the latter of which has closer ties to the Underworld Concept and it's workings. Some people have direct ascendance to Demons; which often leads to them having two very distinct 'forms' and personalities. Such types of people are dubbed 'Taimanin'. However, there are ways to enhance, stabilize and control this 'demonic' blood. The individuals that seek out such control are drafted into the Aperture Science Laboratories(C) National Assembly for Arcane Research, and placed within three groups - 'Uncontrollable', which means that the individual has no chance of controlling their powers, and will most likely part ways with their demonic form, thus creating a potentially evil enemy to the nation, Stable, which often means that the individual has chances of controlling their powers, and more research and testing must be done to the individual in order to ensure arcane stability, and finally, the ASTA. The ASTA Group, formally the Aperture Science Taimanin Agency, formally founded by Herr Kaiserrin herself, is where all individuals with already stable arcane powers seeking to make good on their nation go to. Within the Agency, they are trained to work from the shadows, and ensure peace within the nation from arcane threats. They are also trained to research - to a basic degree - arcane powers of their possible enemies on-the-spot, and are, above all, trained to be capable of fighting for prolonged periods of time.

It is to be noted that even those that have direct blood ascendance to those from the Underworld Concept, those whom are haunted by their other sides and are unable to truly stabilize their arcane powers can be forcibly stabilized, though only one case of such stabilization practices has ensured that said troubled individual has been capable of continued life. That being the case of Herr Kaiserrin's formal assistant, Ingrid von Elvenheime, whom was, for an amount of time yet undisclosed, one of Hell's Elven Knights on our vortal realm.

Remembering Isobanian WBC Failure; 2-1 Championship Loss to Yuno

He currently works as the editor of SNN and Box Office News, two world-class newspapers that reach millions of readers a year, while working with sports photography.

(Bellview Ballpark - Freetown, African Strand) - The stage is set. The best of the best had been going for around a month, and now, the classic was down to two; the Isobanians, and the Yuno. They started their road with a 4-2 win in the qualifier over Lapathiya. Yuno had shocked the world to even get past Group D. However, they went 3-0 in that group to move onto Valoria. They had a combined ERA of 1.75, they scored 21 runs, and they gave up a mere 7 runs. They defeated Lungha 6-2 in Game 1, the Block 10-5 in Game 2, and Aerilia 5-2 in Game 3. Then, they continued to surpass expectations when they won Group B by going 3-0 with a combined ERA of 2.33, scoring 13 runs, and only allowing 7 runs in the group. They defeated Isobania in Game 1 2-1, they defeated Dellonland in Game 2 3-1, and then they defeated a fierce Lunghan team 9-5 in a back-and-forth affair of a rematch. Then, they pulled up into Freetown and took down the host, African Strand 2-0 behind a stellar pitching performance.

Isobania had been ranked #1 in the country for years. Very fitting that they were one of the co-hosts of the tournament. They were drawn into a group with Dellonland, Western Vapia, and their biggest rival, Miruma. They swept that group going with a 2.50 ERA and outscoring opponents 25-10. They bested Miruma 8-5 in Game 1, Dellonland 7-4 in Game 2, and Vapia 10-1 in Game 3. Then, they moved onto Group B in the next stage. There, they lost Game 1 to Yuno 2-1. Then, they took out Lungha and Dellonland 14-1 and 9-2 respectively. Because of this, the reached second place in Group B with an ERA of 1.67, allowing 5 runs, and scoring 24. Then, in their semifinal game against Asthea, they mixed strong pitching with dominating hitting to assert their dominance over the Astheans.

So, that set up this ballgame. And right out of the gate, Yuno shocked all 25,000 in the stadium in Freetown as well as billions all over the world. A lead-off solo home run from the captain brought many to their feet and gave Yuno a 1-0 lead. As soon as Yuno grabbed that lead, they refused to let it go. Strong pitching from both the Yuno ace and the Isobanian ace, Stephen Thorne, kept both offenses at bay. However, in the top of the fourth, Ryan Virtudes was able to tie the ballgame up at 1-1 with a solo home run. And with that, the defense and the pitching seemed to increase.

1-2-3, good morning-good afternoon-good night, innings continued to roll. Then, in the top of the eighth, Yuno had two on. And a clutch single up the middle gave them a 2-1 lead. And they held that score. With the final strikeout over Jason Stewart, Yuno had the right to hold the trophy high.

Yuno defied all odds to win a championship, but the Isobanians, the heavily favored, choked. For this reason, this makes the list at #11.
