No, It's RMB roleplay.

The diplomats leave to the runway, where their jet is leaving, and board the jet. While boarding, one remarks to the other: “Oh, Haym is going to love this.” The diplomat responds: “I know, right? He’s probably far more interesting in spreading peace than whatever that orb thing is, knowing him. It’s rather odd that he’s so interested in it... ah, well. I’m sure he’ll be excited by the deal we’ve struck.”

Minuda wrote:SR:RP

A drone watched the unfolding battlefield from overhead. The enemy forces were about 2km away from the defensive line, their fallback troops intended to bait the enemy into that line had died quite a while ago. Now the enemy was moving cautiously, they expected more… They just didn’t know where.

In a large room several decorated officers stood in a cement building, they watched the view of the battle from the drone flying overhead. They were in the midst of a discussion about how to proceed.

“Hmm… This is interesting, our forces died quite earlier then we expected, yet despite this the enemy is still moving in a concentrated point forwards. They have barely branched out to check their surroundings…”

“I’d say that that would be a good thing. We should prepare to launch our counterassault at this rate.”

“Well how do we know that they aren’t planning anything… The Metalvians aren’t being led by morons last I checked.”

The men continued staring at the monitor.

“That’s it!”

“Hmm…?”

“The frontline troops, have you seen how they are moving?”

“They’re checking their surroundings like any well-trained troop.”

“Yes, but they aren’t doing that out of training… Look closer… Doesn’t it almost look like they’re panicking?”

The men looked a bit closer at the figures as the drone zoomed in on a portion of the column. The soldiers were hurriedly looking in front of them, then beside them, then in front, and so on.

“Hmm… It would seem so.”

“So the issue is obviously that they then expect us to have more, but they seem to be rather paranoid of causing this secondary attack that they aren’t spreading out. They don’t want to be next in line for what the several hundred in front of them died for. They know they have to keep moving, but they’d be damned if they are going to spread out into the unknown.”

“That could be a reason… Either way, they’ve begun their attack, let’s inform High Command. The operation must begin.”

The other men nodded as one of the men went out of the room, seemingly to fetch the nearest phone…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 Hours Ago…
Four men sat seated in what could only be considered to be “elegant”. A high ceiling with a domed top had paintings of history and fantasy alike. Painted glass made up decorative windows as an almost chrome-like dark blue sat along the lower walls. Lanterns of gold remained unlit under the open sun, shining upon a well-finished and polished table and the rug that it rested upon. A simple set of short stairs surrounded one side of the room, leading to an elevated floor and a decorated throne, not placed too far above the table as to make the person sitting in it feel uncomfortable while pressing on it. The other three sat in well-cushioned chairs befitting the guests of what was a relic of the old age blended with the new. The people that sat inside this room were as follows:
Alex Karpo, current Prime Minister of Minuda and the leader of the MSDP.
Field Marshall Princip Ardbarn, in charge of the Kluk-Ti and it’s military.
Boris Nikolav, the President of the Magardom Republic, and finally-
Andrew Halendraff, the Crowned-Prince of Metalvia, and heir to the throne of his now deceased uncle.
Alongside of the walls were 8 Royal Guards, each with the blended ceremonial-military uniform, having ornamented armor and a more traditional, but just as deadly rifle in hand.
Sat on the table were documents laid neatly in folders, with trays full of fresh food and drinks that were just delivered in. The maid responsible for delivering which had left the pitchers of drinks behind as she was asked to leave the room, making special care to ensure that they were placed so as to not obstruct the vision of each member at the table.
Each man had taken several minutes to enjoy the food that was served before cleaning themselves off and opening the files to get down to the contents of the meeting.
Andrew took a moment to clear his throat, and then proceeded to speak.
“I’m sure by now that all of you here are aware of why we are having this meeting.”
The men looked at Andrew before slowly nodding, which allowed him to continue.
“Good. Now those folders in front of you detail what I have planned for this meeting, so feel free to read along and make notes where you want, but anywho...”
Andrew continues as the others open it up.
“For far too long we have had to deal with the radical tensions like this. Brother against brother, family against family, extremists versus extremists. For as many departments and concessions we have made to appease as many parties as we can we have found ourselves unable to both protect the Federation and the wishes of our subjects. In the wake of the upcoming battle, which I have heard many good things about. There will eventually come the time where the dissidents of Metalvia, especially those willing to fight. Will have laid down their arms after many like-minded people have lost their lives for nothing more than a political machine. We will be tasked with having to rebuild said nation, and to hopefully rid ourselves of the political superiority that even the Minudians have built up. We have tried appeasement, and look where that got us. Exaggerated lies, cunning-yet suicidal tactics, and an unkempt racial tension between us two peoples have led us down the path of war. It is no doubt an exaggeration to say that it is but a matter of time before this war could happen again, perhaps this time by Minudians, who may not believe that how we are dealing with the situation does not permit enough ‘justice’. No no, the time has come that we lay down a solution all parties can understand. I would like to advocate that we use military force to ensure cooperation within all states for all citizens; and with that, to also end the autonomies and further Federalise the nation.”
Boris Nikolav stood up in protest
“You can’t be serious! To do so would undermine the independence of each separate nation here. How could you possibly ensure that none of the people in the outer territories would revolt?”
Seeing the sudden outburst by the President, the standing Royal Guards got slightly nervous and began shifting in place.
“Well, I believe our solution is right here.”
Andrew looked at Alex Karpo, and in turn everybody else did as well.
“Uhm… What are you exactly referring to about me?”
Alex cautiously asked Andrew. To which he replied:
“Well, you are a social democrat. Your policies are made to appease a very broad audience, and although most may not agree with the higher taxations you advocate for, I’m sure the use of the military to help govern the individual nations could go a long way to ensuring that the future is both economically and politically stable. This is of course if you are willing to allow your policies to be enacted on the Nation-wide scale.”
Boris, seeing the meaning of Andrew’s intent, sat back down.
“While I would love to enact my policies on said Nation-wide scale. I doubt that the people would even let me. Not everybody is aligned with my thinking, and there are certainly more people outside of Minuda-proper that don’t think along the same lines as I do. Even I can acknowledge that much.”
Boris and Princip nodded in agreement, to which Andrew responded with:
“And it is exactly that in which we must change. This nation is divided by political lines and nationalism. Through military means the nationalism of the populace can be subdued, but only by enforcing the same political structure and policies can we eventually hope to have a unified political belief. If we keep sitting here struggling to find allies because no one side has over the majority of the population in it’s support, then we will be permanently stuck in a path of perpetual rewinding. The leader of Minuda will enforce a certain standpoint on the Government, but ultimately they do not have enough influence within it to properly control the Government. While the ‘elected dictator’ as people refer to it, has proven themselves to be the head figure and the deciding factor in policy making. They cannot do anything to prevent the political divide. While it is true that the way the government operates makes it nigh-impossible to truly undue the current policies. It has paved way to backlash from opposing sides in the government, and that has spread out into the populace, fueling the fires that we have seen ignited out there. Only by better representing and engraving one ideology among the populace can we hope to rid ourselves of this perpetually moving ember. One that will allow us to both control the population without fearing revolution and ensuring that the people support us and a common ideology long into the future.”
Boris sat back in his seat, pondering over the thought process that Andrew had taken and whether or not he is correct. Princip Ardbarn took this moment to speak.
“While I’m in agreement with what you have presented, sir. I must state that as of this moment we don’t have an official authority within Minuda that can make em’ changes, the council can’t convene to elect the next Ruler of Minuda until Metalvia has b’n pacified, therefore, none of these actions can be truly made for th’ time being, rather instead I’d think it’d be much better for us to discuss the military effort rather than es’ politics.”
“That is where you’re wrong, Princip.”
The others looked visibly confused at what he could be suggesting.
“While I most certainly agree that I am not in charge, it does not mean that I could be later, and more importantly. We still can pass these policies. Military applications are really only your forte. I believe therefore that we should discuss future military actions after the results of the upcoming battle. But back to the point. Alex, you are aware that in the death of the current ruler the control of all final orders is given the the Prime Minister, which would be you, yes?”
Alex nodded
“Good, and you also know that this uprising and Princip’s statement reveals how broken the electing of a new ruler is as well, yes?”
Alex nodded much slower this time.
“Well. Then it is in my regards that I believe that legislation should be established to fix that, I believe that internal policies being mandated by both an oligarchic head and an elected Prime Minister are counter-productive to what this nation needs. Instead of having two kings, why not have the elected oligarch represent the final say in major decisions involving the constitution, as well as handling foreign policy. And let the Prime Minister be elected to well, manage the country himself without having to worry about butting heads with the man one step above him. With this, Minuda would have a competent person representing their nation of the foreign level for the time being, and have an elected official make policies to represent what the Minudians truly want at the time? And of course, who better to represent Minuda on the foreign stage then the royal family that makes itself known for it’s care of both two powers?”
Alex placed his hands on his chin to ponder it, Boris could also be heard saying “so that’s what he’s going for.”...
“I suppose I agree with your narrative. But to openly express your ambition right in front of the people that make it happen? Just what is your true intent?”
Boris and Princip both nodded at that question. Looking at the smirking prince on his throne.
“My goal? My goal is to do nothing more then to obtain the position that my uncle had tried to work so hard to get me to, to prepare me to handle Minuda myself when his day came such that his family legacy may continue in the history books. I am willing to try and make as many sacrifices as possible in order to achieve this goal. Both to honor him and to ensure that this country doesn’t crumble apart in the aftermath of this war.”
The men took a moment to ponder the situation before coming to their own conclusions.
“If this is the way you want to go, and if Alex agrees with the notion, then I’d like to resign from my office.”
Boris spoke up first.
“Really? Why?”
Alex questioned Boris
“Well, he is essentially trying to get you to elect him in power for all of our international policies! How could you not stand with him???”
“He has a point regardless as to whether or not he is self-promoting himself. Besides, Andrew. If you did a bad job, you’d be fine with being removed early, yes?”
Andrew smirked and said yes.
“See? He himself has said that he is willing to give up power, and considering he is giving up almost all of his internal control, it’s not like he can order the military to prevent his disposition, yes?”
Alex then looked at Princip, who nodded in return
“I don’t know, Alex. Something just seems incredibly wrong about this. I’m still gonna resign though, I’d rather not lose my dignity if it does go all downhill. I hope you don’t mind.”
“I do mind, but if you think it’ll save you in the long run then you can, but could you at least stay until this war is over? I’d rather not cause any more trouble on the homefront.”
Alex requested at Boris, who agreed with it.
“Very well then. Well, in order to ensure that all of these plans can move through flawlessly. Alex, I’m going to have to request that you order the immediate merging of both the LPM and the CPM into your MSDP. By doing such, combining this with the illegalization of the Greens and the Royalists, we would have a single party government, which would be crucial in the the process of reducing government costs and expenditures of party meetings, as well as get a more diverse look into the MSDP while it prepares it’s rebuilding of the Federation.”
Alex was partially stunned by this.
“Mr. Halendraff, while I understand where you’re coming from to do so would undermine democracy itself! We’re here to appease the people, not remove their privileges. Besides, while the LPM might be willing to comply, the CPM is opposed to us, they’re only aligned with us because they aren’t nationalists unlike the Greens!”
Andrew was taken aback by the use of his last name for a second, before making his reply.
“Well, yes. We’d just need to give promises that the one party system will cease at the end of the ‘reconstruction’ phase. Besides, it’s not like they can say no. If they refuse then they’re on the same level as the Green party, I doubt they would like to be labeled as terrorists. But remember, this plan ensures that the political divides within Minuda cease to make an effective and united population, which would also guarantee the preservation of the Federation. Sacrifices must be made in the short run for the rights of the average citizen now such that they won’t be threatened again in the future. I would say that lives are far more important then a small hike in taxes and other pleasing policies. A good majority of the population is already in favor of your terms. In the long run we need only focus on the more resistant areas and bask in the glory that those already in favor of your policies.”
Andrew looked down upon Alex as Alex slowly agreed to the notion.
“Good, then one more thing.”
“Uhh… What is it?”
“I’d like you to pass the motion to change the name of the party, by announcing a name change it could help soothe the merging factions. If I may recommend, something like the Royal Social Party of Minuda.”
Alex took a moment to ponder the name.
“The Unilyst Party of Minuda”
(OOC: “Unilyst” is a play on “Unity” and (Democratic) “Socialist”, meaning that in this case it is a Democratic Socialist Party that bases itself off of Political Unity and cooperation, when referring to it as an ideology it would be called “Unilysm”)
“Nice ring… Sure why not?”
The other two looked on with keen interest, though Boris was visibly more depressed then Princip, who didn’t really seem to care.
“Well then-” Andrew stood up “I’d consider this political meeting finished, unless anyone has something else they’d like to say?”
“Yea.”
Princip stood up.
“What’s to become of my Kluk-Ti? Considering y’know… You’re advocating for the end of the separate entities n’ all…”
“Well, naturally, Princip. The Kluk-Ti would be Federalised further, and you would become just a Field Marshall. Of course, we’re not going to discriminate, your word will still be expected when we’re making policies that affect the Kluk-Ti, and you’d most certainly still be in charge of divisions made up of the Kluk-Ti. Or perhaps the National Militia if you’d like to stay strictly inside the Kluk-Ti.”
“Mmm…”
Princip took a moment before shrugging and saying “Mkay then.”
Seeing no other comments, Andrew declared the meeting to be officially adjourned and had everybody leave, folders with them. The maid soon came back in and began cleaning up as he sat and thought on his throne.
“Soon, uncle…”
He looked up at a picture of him and his uncle.
“Soon I can finish what you started, what my father and you both sacrificed your lives for… Soon…”
He continued staring at the picture on the wall, thinking of what’s to come…
“General Hickens, Minudian Army, what’s the issue?”
“Sir, the attack has begun.”
...
“Are the forces in position?”
“Yes, the enemy has accepted the bait. All forces are in position.”
“Then launch the counterattack.”
“Yes sir.”
Ding!
...
BRRT! BRRT! BRRT!
It had happened all so quickly that nobody could quite figure out what was going on. One second everybody was on station, standing guard, training, or enjoying some time off.
The next, alarms were ringing, whistles were being blowed, and people were frantically rushing to and fro.
“The word has come in! Cohorse is under attack! Grab your weapons and report to your stations! Prepare to attack!”
Men across bases all over Minuda began to scatter like ants to places they’ve been training to rush towards ever since the Minudians were pushed back the first time. In no less then 10 minutes almost the entirety of the Minudian army was marching towards the Metalvian lines. Planes took off and began to beeline straight towards as many Metalvian bases they had spotted one rotation earlier. In mere minutes the frontline between the two opponents had changed from a peaceful green to a brilliant orange as bombs wasted the Metalvian lines, the likes of which they couldn’t respond to. To the Metalvians, this was all but a nightmare, a lack of equipment and manpower to properly field the lines, and now the one thing they could rely on was going up in flames. The sound of hell returned to the men on both sides once more. As determined Minudians charged upon the tattered, but utterly desperate Metalvians.
Soldiers on both sides began taking pot shots at each other as the few stable platforms were quickly becoming Machine gunner nests for defending Metalvians. All the while the might of the Minudian army began making clock-work of hidden fortified barriers that were yet detected. Those that held soldiers were marked for bombing by the now-returning planes. Those that weren’t occupied were destroyed by AT weaponry used by Minudian Infantry. Denying the Metalvians any chance they had at recovering a fortified position. Gunshot after gunshot, artillery shell after artillery shell. The Minudian counter offense has begun, and the Metalvians were now on the run. Yet, for every single soldier on the line, each one of them knew that even if they won it may not win them the war, for there was a much, much bigger battle that had to be won, less the Metalvian flag unfurl over Cohorse.
Within the northern regions however, a much different scenario had unfurled. Within a few minutes of having entered it they soon discovered that most of the sectors were abandoned. After a brief period of discussions they soon came to hear that the Montarcians had launched their own invasion into Central Metalvia, with enough forces to warrant an immediate repositioning of the entire Northern Army. After a brief period of discussions it was then confirmed by command that this was a pre-negotiated event, and that the Minudians should try their best to continue pressing their advance as fast as possible, but to not cross any lines with the Montarcians for the time being.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On the Eastern Front, the Metalvian offense still continued. The Metalvians were but a few kilometers from the defensive line where they had placed their trap. The time was now or never… The time to test the resolve of the Metalvians was now…

“Hey… you said you had a girl back at home yeah? You gonna merry her when this is over?”

“Huh? Oh yeah, I actually just got engaged with her a few days before the conscription notice came in. A baby is on the way.”

“No way! Congrats dude!”

“Heh, thanks. Let’s just hope the brass know what they’re doing. We really shouldn’t be marching down in this thin of a column. We should really be spread out more…”

“I don’t blame em. The story goes that those in front fought through tooth and nail to push the Minudians back, I doubt anybody would like to venture out any further into these woods.”

“Fair enough… Hey, you got any plans for when you get home Thomas?”

“Not really, I only joined the army because it paid well. Ever since my parents died in Bancalore it’s been hard keeping my other siblings fed. My aunt is watching over them now, but god knows how much longer she can afford to keep them now. You have anything other than your wife to take care of, Jack?”

Jack took a moment to ponder as the rest of their squad continued following the line of soldiers as they went deeper and deeper into Minuda.

“Not really, I guess I’ll need to find a job to help take care of the child ehh. Wonder what gender they’ll be… I’m hoping for a little daughter if I’m being honest.”

“That’s nice, got any names yet?”

“Nope. I’ll tell you what, we get through this and you can help me find some names. That sound alright?”

“Hah! It’s your child, Jack. You get to name em. I’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines dude.”

“Thanks… Why are we stopping?”

“Huh…?”

They, along with many others, began looking forward to see a halt within the formation far up ahead. Some of the officers present could be observed talking on their walkie-talkies. Of which they overheard one conversation.

“We’ve encountered resistance at the front line, several heavily fortified Minudian positions that are lined up about… I… Don’t know. Expect heavy resistance proceeding forward, Graves out.”

Several officers could be observed frowning, but to the men, the worst was yet to come.

“Alright men, our forward forces have re-engaged the Minudians. Expect heavy combat, do not lose your guard! This is it! Places, do not lose your guard or your focus!”

Speeches like these could be heard all up and down the column, as the chatter gradually died down.

The men gradually began moving forward again, the radio chatter never ceasing, all seemed to be going well.

“So… You think this is it, Thomas?”

“I’d hope not, god knows how many men have to die before we’re up next.”

“Based on what that guy on the radio was saying, the entire front is like a giant wall or something. You think they’ve set up some sort of trap?”

“Nah, we’re too close to Cohorse, these are likely just some sort of fortification system to keep the carnage away from the city proper.”

“True I suppose. Let’s just hope that you’re-”

“...yeah?”

“...What… Are those flares?”

As Thomas turned around he noticed a brilliant red lining up the sky in several locations. Without a doubt, those were flares.

The other men in the column could be seen visibly starting to panic as more and more flares began to shine in the sky.

“Oh f*ck…”

The Metalvians began visibly panicking, the officers on site began to order the men to calm down to no avail

“We… We gotta go… Now!”

Chaos started erupting as a multitude of soliders began turning around almost immediately to head back, yet as more and more flares continued shooting off around the column, the more their faces despaired.

Suddenly, several muffled bangs could be heard off in the distance, a repeating pattern, never ceasing, and seemingly growing by the second.

“Oh sh*t”

An officer quickly shouted to the men

“GET DOWN!”

Another officer could be heard shouting “Artillery!” before the sound of whistles overtook the cries of the men.

And then.

The explosions.

The battlefield lit up in a cloud of smoke, debris, broken body parts and a deafening roar as artillery shells lit up the entire column like stamping paperwork. Those that didn’t manage to hit the ground were thrown into the trees or worse yet, obliterated by the debris. After 10 seconds of nothing but repeated explosions and ear-piercing screams. The thunder of the artillery let up, giving the disorganized and badly wounded men some time to recover.

“F*ck! Jack! You alright!?!”

“Y-yeah, I’m alright… You?”

“I think so… Damn, I wasn’t expecting this.. We were set up!”

“Well it’s too late for that now!”

“Yeah c'mon, let’s get out of here before they-”

Before Thomas could finish, the sound of a large cannon could be heard, it flew right overhead, landing somewhere outside of the column behind them. They took a moment to listen… And it became all the more clear that the Minudian army had already arrived.

Desperately, a single Metalvian got up and blindly charged into the woods. He was met with a short burst of machine gun fire, and dropped quickly to the ground. An officer behind them then shouted.

“FIRE!!!”

The Metalvians opened up into the woods, and no sooner had they done so that the Minudians returned in kind, within seconds the entire column was beginning to shift backwards, away from the Minudians that had begun firing. Of course, they were then immediately met by cannon fire from several tanks in the direction they were retreating in, forcing them to immediately duck back down as machine gun fire opened up from the other side of the column.

“We’re surrounded!”

“We need to move back!”

“Retreat!”

Scattered cries erupted from the Metalvians as they began to scatter along the column, Thomas quickly grabbed Jack’s shoulder and they began to shuffle back to where they came from. All around them they could only hear the sounds of bullets whizzing in the air, guns firing, and the screams of those being hit by them. The two of them had made their way no more than five feet before another tank shell zoomed right out in front of them, hitting a Metalvian soldier square in the chest and detonating, sending the two of them back.

“Thomas! I can’t… I can’t feel my leg!”

“Here! Give me your arm, I’ll help you. Let’s try to make it to that rock over there and then we’ll figure out how to treat your wound.”

Jack placed himself against Thomas as the two of them began a staggered dash to the rock, to the right of Thomas, he could hear a Minudian soldier rushing in to meet the Column head on. Using his only free hand, Thomas sprayed into the Minudian soldier, he fumbled a bit as the kickback pushed hard against his only free hand. The duo continued moving forward, past all of the bloodied Metalvians, some of which were still fighting, keeping their body as low to the ground as possible to avoid being shot. The looks on their faces were of sheer determination, determination that this wouldn’t be their end, and that they would live to continue on. It was the same determination that Thomas had as he continued his dash towards the rock. And just a few feet before, it, all of his efforts had come to fruition.

Until he felt a sharp pang in his abdomen.

Instinctually, he fell to the ground, yet he didn’t quite know why. Sure, there were several small pricks to his side, but it’s not like he lost his leg or something. His vision began to blur as he could see Jack above him. He could hear him calling out his name, but everything was muffled… He swore he could see two Jack’s now. Wanting to let him know to continue on, he held up his hand, in which Jack went to grasp it… And then he vanished.

“W-what…?”

Feeling his consciousness slowly fading, he felt to his left… He felt some hot liquid beside him, tilting his head, he noticed that he was laying in an entire pool of it.

“Is… Is this my blood?”

He turned his head to the right now, and noticed a body next to him. He couldn’t see his face, but he certainly noticed another large pool of what he could only guess as blood underneath it.

Struggling, he put his hand on the soldier's chest, and grabbed something… It was a dog tag.

He tried to read it, but his mind was spinning too much, he was fading out.

He took one last look at the dogtag before finally reading it’s name aloud for the last time.

“Jack.”

And thus Thomas’s life was swept away by the tide of the Minudians.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Minudian counter offense had only just begun, but the Metalvian casualties had already skyrocketed, yet the question still remained… Were the Minudians to break the column, and encircle the Metalvians? Would the Metalvians break the Minudian stronghold and march on Cohorse yet? Or would it all break down in a bloodied mess. Well… The clock is ticking… And only time will tell…
OOC: Sorry this took so long, isn't my longest post but could've been. I decided to remove an arc of this post because frankly I had spent to long making what I already had, and the carnage in the end more then makes up for the even bigger hell I had already planed for this chapter. As stated in the end of this post, my RP will not continue until I see what those of you participating in the RP already come up with to engage in the combat. This is a dynamic rp afterall... Anywho enjoy!
Captain Kilroy sat gazing out his binoculars, open hatch, on his Reconnaissance Armored Personnel Carrier. In his field of view lay nothing but open territory.
“Quite odd we haven’t run across a single enemy the entire time we’ve been on this operation.” Kilroy says to his Second in Command, the Company Commissar. “I don’t think I’ve even seen a civilian, come to think of it.” The Commisar replies over the radio, he’s also open hatch in his respective APC. “No, no, I think I saw some back in that last village we passed, an odd day or so ago.” The Company Sergeant chimes in, his position is on the far side of the valley, outside his command vehicle, gazing out with his own set of binoculars.
“Well,” Cpt. Kilroy returns to speaking, “I suppose we’ll radio back to Battalion we’ve got nothing to report. Who knows, maybe the flyboys spotted something we didn’t...” The Commissar chimes back in, getting the last word, “Do think it’s still odd we haven’t even met anything of an enemy presence. According to the map we’re only no more than a week’s drive from the end of a large railway network, a city or something...”
———
After encountering no enemy opposition, a operation-wide decision was made: frontline units would be taken off the attack and delegated to garrisoning and convoy protection until told otherwise. The idea being, “If needed, the entire system could snap to the frontline like a spring.”
I figured it was appropriate since they had green on their flag. Kind of like how I put red for Canada and dark blue for my nation.
