I present to you......

the Final of TNPV XV!

TNPV XV

Unity Through Music

THE FINAL

Hosts: Terry Wogan, Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra VII

Venue: The Antonian Festival Park, The Moral High Ground, Ethnon

Saturday 27th March 2021 8pm GMT

Cleopatra And Marcus Wish You Long Life And Bid You Welcome In Peace To Ethnon

Marcus: Friends! Ethnonians! TNPers! Welcome, welcome all, to the TNPV XV Final!

From The Antonian Festival Park in our great city of the The Moral High Ground in Ethnon.

[Applause!]

As we are all aware, Ethnon will not be participating in the final. But that will not stop us from having a wonderful time with you all.

Voting has been very difficult, so many great songs. I am sure that the final twelve songs deserve to be in the Final.

Cleopatra has calmed down now and nobody has been fed to the Crocodiles.....so far. Mind you rumour has it that she is having some of the largest and most aggressive Cobra's ever known, as her new choice of executioners. I think I will be sleeping with one eye open and with my gladius close by. Lol

Any way, we still have Terry with us and no doubt Neonlake will make his presence known during the show.

Well, let's get this show on the road. I shall now pass you onto Terry.

[Applause!]

Terry: Thank you Marcus.

Well hello there audience!

[Applause!]

Are we all ready for the show to start?

Great!

To kick off the show we shall listen to the song that gave Ethnon victory in TNPV XIV.

Let's hear it for the Daft Punk boys and 'Get Lucky'!

[Applause!]

[Loud Applause!]

An excellent performance there, I am sure you will agree

Oh I see Neonlake has arrived.

Well he can tell you all the boring stuff. Lol

[Applause!]

Neonlake: Thank you Terry

Hello people!

[Applause!]

I will now show you how the votes are cast.

Only 10 nations will receive points from each participating nation and a nation cannot vote for itself. The votes are cast like this....

How votes are cast

12 points: Country
10 points: Country
8 points: Country
7 points: Country
6 points: Country
5 points: Country
4 points: Country
3 points: Country

So that's how it's done.

I shall now pass you onto my Mum, who will introduce to you, the twelve songs in the final.

[Applause!]

Cleopatra: Thank you dear.

So here are the lucky finalists for TNPV fifteen.

Enjoy!

[Applause!]

Terry: Well that's the voting completed and now I am going to pass you onto my great friend, Marcus, for the results!

[Loud Applause!]

Marcus: Thank you Terry!

First I have to make an important announcement.

Due to voting irregularities Cereskia has been excluded from the Final.

[Gasps, Shocked Noises]

A full report on this matter has been submitted to TNPV Administration.

And the decision to exclude them from the TNPV XV Final has been upheld by TNPVO.

[More Gasps]

Oh dear, first the host nation doesn't 'cut it' for the Final and now a disqualification?

This competition hasn't been short on excitement.

Some other statistics for you.

Apparently there were five TNPVers who decided not to vote at all in the Final.

It's all voluntary and not mandatory of course.

We can only speculate how those votes, if entered, could have made a difference in the results.

Alright folks it's results time.

[Applause!]

Who has won?

Is it one of the semi-final group leaders, Tringapore or Republica Guilleana?

Or an unexpected nation, who gained the support of all the TNPV XV contestants?

Let's find out!

Marcus: Well that's incredible!

I really love that song, it ticks all the boxes for me, a really great song choice and a well deserved winner!

But, did anyone else see that coming?

Cleopatra: I certainly didn't dearest, but it's a really great song.

So, congratulations to our winner and a very well done to all the participants.

Now I did promise Marcus that I wouldn't feed anyone to the Crocodiles tonight. But how could I turn down this offer? I would like to send a personal thank you to The Democratic Kingdom Of Skaraborg who kindly offered me The Spice Girls for my Crocodiles. I must admit they, the Crocodiles, were a little disappointed the Girls didn't taste that spicy. Here's a picture of Doris, my favourite Nile Crocodile, she looks happy doesn't she?

So before Marcus and I bring the show to a close with the winning song. I do have a couple of executions to conduct.

Marcus: But Cleo! You promised you wouldn't.

Cleopatra: I'm sorry Marcus dear, but it must be done. You should never 'cross' a woman. Especially this one!

Guards! bring forth the prisoners!

The guards bring in two people and push them to the ground in front of the Royal couple.
Marcus looks uncomfortable in contrast to Cleopatra who narrows her eyes and hisses at the prisoners.

Communist Lukania! Your votes were the last to arrive for Group B and it caused a really good song, my song, which was in fifth place at the time, to fail to make the Final!
Cereskia! You dared to insult me by calling me 'Clementine' and then you wasted the time of my TNPV officials!
You shall both be the test of my new form of execution. Meet my Egyptian Cobras, Bert and Alice! They await you on the patio!

Marcus: sweating

Er.....Ok people lets wrap the show up.

So once again congratulations to the Winner and a great thank you to all the contestants and the behind the scenes TNPVO staff.

See you all in in Fiji City for TNPV XVI!

Very Loud Applause!

Now to play us out, give it your all for, Cannons and their winning song, Fire For You!

Or does it really matter?

I actually heard about it first from Kartujia, and I originally had no idea what he was talking about. I had been pretty confident that given my song's performance out of the semifinal that I wouldn't end up first. So I thought there had been some mistake. But then I saw all the dispatches and all this... so thanks! Great show too, I really liked the roleplaying - especially Terry. It was a privilege to visit The Moral High Ground.

Drama in the Senate today as a new bill is proposed destined to change the future of Canineian Humans. The Bill known as Proposition 142 proposes the mass exodus of all humans within Canineia. Senator Robert Bradley speaking for the Dog Patriots proposed the bill to the floor. He said that while all humans are secluded to their own communities by constitutional law there is nothing about keeping them in the country. Senator Bradley's proposition was met with one complaint. Senator Wenfield for the Dog Nationalists said "How do you expect to transport 17,000 people to countries that will probably turn them away". The response was "We will transport them to Airports where they can select a country to travel to and apply for citizenship there. From then we cannot do anything else".

The Senate is expected to meet within the next few days to vote on the bill. Your watching HBC have a good day

SR RP

The Government of Nordhafen formally condemns "Proposition 142" and urges the Canineian government to repeal the initiative. The Directory's leader, Wernher von Kassius, verbally condemned the idea, naming it "the dictionary definition of a blanketed xenophobic policy, which offers the premise of freedom of movement with what is essentially forced migration". Many politicians of the nation have joined the condemnation, including former Directory Chief Executive and the eldest living former chief of state, Woflgang Maximilian Geisler II, officially declared: "From the bottom of the heart of a man who lead a nation where the wounds of colonial oppression and generations-long hate, I doubt not you have reasons to hate the humans, but a nation will never overcome its past of pain by holding itself to irredentism and revanchist policies".

In addition to the condemnation, the Government also denounces the already status quo of human Canineians, and declares a national embargo against Canineian goods.

The government of Greater Supple Lund would be delighted to show off such power and potent Supple technology, and are hopeful that the nation of Rising sakura will be as equally impressed with the vehicle as we are. Greater Supple Lund agrees to participate in such an exhibition, and will release the vehicles in question post haste.

We will be sending a total of three vehicles to this exhibition: an MBT-69 with a 120mm cannon, and MBT-69 with the vaunted 140mm cannon and the SVBT-69A1 with its large variety of different armaments. While this last vehicle is classified as a “heavy infantry fighting vehicle”, it is built off the exact same hull and chassis as the tanks themselves.

All Supple vehicles will be equipped with the North Armatas “ESL” upgrade package, the latest and most advanced ERA Greater Supple Lund has ever placed on a fighting vehicle. We are highly confident of its defensive capabilities!

We simply ask that a small contingent of Supple troops are allowed to accompany such vehicles in transits to Rising sakura, as they are technically “on loan” and not officially purchased. GSL does not believe the Sakura would try anything with their vehicles, but must nonetheless protest their investments just in case any unfortunate occurrences might happen.

We thank the Sakura government for their agreeing to host such an exhibit, and we look forward to demonstrating the latest capabilities of our vehicles!

All government officials of Supple shall stay in Downtown Sanshi City, in Cho-wa Resort which their stay shall be funded by the Ajianese Government. The Resort is only 45 minutes away from the area where the exhibition shall take place.

hi again

With the recent flurry of condemnations over the so-called Proposition 142- a proposal from Canineia intended to deport over 17,000 human beings from the nation- the Supreme Ultimate Country authorised a limited diplomatic response. Although Kyoki Chudoku and Canineia have minimal relations as per Chudokuren foreign policy, they remain close neighbours geographically. Given the ongoing military actions in the distant island nation, Chudokuren officials have raised concerns about the security of Nishishima, the country’s western island, and home to the capital city of Subete no Yoimono no Chushin.

“This proposition’s aftermath has been nothing more than a literal dogpile,” commented a diplomatic official, whose identity was not revealed to the international world in a deliberate effort to cast a light of total apathy on the matter. “That Canineia thinks it can export thousands of citizens when caught in the midst of armed conflict and when most of the continent is hostile towards it is ludicrous, true. But the fundamental justification for this proposal is downright humanitarian. Canineia does not possess the necessary infrastructure to support any significant human presence, and it’s certainly not going to be able to produce any more if its cities get bombed and its economy trashed by foreign powers. That they’re simply letting their people go is the merciful outcome- some nations have much more brutal ways of dealing with overpopulation or unwanted civilians.”

Continuing further, the unnamed envoy expanded upon the Chudokuren view of the intense international backlash against Proposition 142. “Many nations claim that their frustrations are ethical, and that mass deportation is morally wrong. But look at which nations in particular are leading the charge. Western Vapia, the country most invested in the annihilation of Canineia, an active enemy of an ongoing military conflict, attempting to skew this single act as evidence that their island opponent is an active threat to all of humanity. It’s also true that some nations, their supposedly staunch OSEAN allies, have offered their own condemnations and restrictions on Canineia- largely reducing military aid. This outrage may have a moral component, but the truth is that such diversions are a matter of pragmatism. No country wants to send its soldiers to die in a war for an ally they do not trust, especially not a losing one. Alliances like OSEAN lack the iron bonds of the Warsaw Pact, which was able to annihilate an existential threat to Kyoki Chudoku thanks to order’s obligations and a history of unity, compared to the scattered and disparate ideals and intentions of OSEAN’s members. This latest backlash is only a helpful justification for countries to do what is in their best interest without forsaking their obligations entirely.”

The final question to be addressed was the Chudokuren interest in the proposition- or rather, the lack thereof. “The truth is that we have no relations with Canineia, and no reason to even consider opening our borders for their exodus- not that any of them would come here to begin with. Our lifestyles are fundamentally incompatible. We simply wish to point out that reactions across the world would have been the same whether the Canineians forcibly exported a single human citizen or committed mass genocide on the human population. All other nations truly care about is the pretence to castigate their enemy or preserve the lives and expenses of their military forces.”

The Minudian Authority of Foreign Relations has just released a statement to the Minudian National News concerning recent developments regarding Canineia, and it's ongoing Proposition #142. The following is restated word-for-word:

"Minuda has, since the French-Belgian occupation of Minudia, supported full internal control vested by a nation to dictate what may and may not happen within it's borders. Minuda firmly believes that it is within Canineia's own right to determine the fate of the human population within Canineia, and compliments it on taking a mostly humane approach to the situation. However, because we believe that each nation is allowed to dictate what goes on in their own nation, so too are other nations allowed to choose how to reply to said actions, of course so long as it does not interfere with one's internal policies. As such, Minuda will not be backing up Canineia against backlash from the international community. Minuda will also not be condemning Canineia for it's proposition; however, Minuda will certainly not condone it. Should the proposition come into effect Minuda does offer itself as a place of asylum to the human population of Canineia, and Minuda encourages other nations to be more focused on helping the humans within Canineia, rather then condeming a nation that is already at war."

TNPV XV

Unity Through Music

Hosts: Terry Wogan, Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra VII

Venue: The Antonian Festival Park, The Moral High Ground, Ethnon

Welcome to the fifteenth edition of TNPV!

The last edition was in Yöta Park, Yöta Stadium, Castönë/Cokoland, where our nation won with 126 points! Cleopatra was very happy and the crocodiles went hungry, poor things.

This edition will be hosted in The Antonian Festival Park, The Moral High Ground, Ethnon.

While you are visiting our capital, why not visit our mausoleum, it's not finished yet, we are not in a great hurry to use it.
Visit our great Temple of Ethena and make friends with the temple cats or go to The Ethnonian Museum and marvel at The Sword of King Ethros!
Then there are the Royal Bee Hives. Don't try and take any honey though. The Bees are quite possessive and they do sting! Ethnonian Royal Honey can be purchased from all good vendors around the city. You can always feed Cleopatra's crocodiles, they are always hungry so don't get too close.
We hope you have a very pleasant stay with us. Good luck to all the contestants.

I used to post that dispatch about three times a day until the nomination period was closed.

I managed to get 28 nations involved.

If you have more than twenty nations in the competition the competition is divided into two semi finals, chosen at random, I used an online number randomiser.

If you need any further guidance, I'm usually around, or just ask The north pacific vision song contest they are the TNPVO (The North Pacific Vision Organisation), they are more than happy to help you with anything.

El Fiji Grande wrote:I actually heard about it first from Kartujia, and I originally had no idea what he was talking about.

Lol

Thank you!

The late Terry Wogan was a legend, I used to love his radio show on BBC Radio 2.

There's a lot more to Ethnon, I really must do a tour guide. You are welcome to visit anytime.

El Fiji Grande wrote:Thanks, glad you liked the song! I heard it on the radio a while back, and it was an instant hit for me. I listened to it maybe twenty times in a row.

It's a song I never tire of, just ticks all the boxes for me.

El Fiji Grande wrote:Marcus did a great job hosting this event. He's a class act.

Thank you Fiji, that is praise indeed! :D

You were my Mentor in NS/TNP, I am honouring my teacher. Lol

I like the post, I dislike the take.
