Well, since we’re sort-of on the topic of capitalism, I guess I’ll ask this: while I’m not one to typically care about labels, I don’t know what I should label myself as. I believe in a generally free-market, but highly regulated, and with government ownership of essential industries. So, that should probably make me a social democrat, which is capitalist, correct? Now, I’m confused because I do believe in certain socialist ideas, like government ownership of land, and incentives for businesses to be entirely worker-owned. That blurs the line a bit, and it doesn’t help that, as an American, I’m viewed as a communist. Can someone help me “find my identity?” :P

If we look at economics both socialism and capitalism have major flaws and both end in the same way, with the people of the nation being a slave to their preferred economic state, in corporatism it is almost a mix of both, we believe in private property but state owned industry. In socialism they believe in economic equality and that you cannot reap the efforts of your own work, that simply is not healthy for human nature. In capitalism you become a slave to work hours and many people are exploited through corporations. In corporatism the state guides, not forces but guides the populace towards self productivity that can sustain the family.
