On one hand, it would lend itself to the deep psychological writing Evangelion is known for and which the majority of us, myself included, is simply incapable of. And chicks dig giant robots.
On the other hand... Arael.

It should be noted, that such an RP would entail us playing people/pilots from our respective nations, not the tried and true method of "Who's gonna play Shinji, who Asuka and when are they gonna kiss?" That would require rewriting the Human Instrumentality Project into a more pagan operation, too, so out with the bibical imagery, in with... whatever I could scrounge up.
And, while some familiar angelic faces would remain (like Zeruel, Arael and Ramiel), we would have a few Angels, which are not known from the show/s.

That remains to be seen, give me a bit to think about it ; )

Oh dear... That should be interesting. Albeit to be honest, I've never watched Evangelion and only know about due to cultural osmosis, it's rendition of fly me to the moon, a good cover of komm susser tod and the rebuild movies soundtrack.

So The Selkie, regarding those battleships from Teressien... Because other NPC's of mine are rearming with that kind of battleships by that time, while Mervay was firm on aircraft carriers and submarines. The teressians might get themselves a deal ; )

Same deal as the Ea Class and maybe, being as scandalous back home in great part of the admiralty and the public, for the single reason it's only a dissuasive investment when other navies still had modern conventional battleships, yet it was gave no thought.

An option would be to simply sell them the DPR. The Mervayans basically buy the license to build them, thus use their own resources and own technology, as well as, most importantly, own workforce to build the AFH-BBNVs. Maybe that would mitigate the scandal a bit?

True that would mitigate it, true. And would also allow to regain experience in building new designs beyond upkeeping the museum battleships, which are considerable. But the thing is that while the Ea class was part of the strategic needs of Mervay, it collaborated in the project and had a license to build the ships with it's own technology and modifications, a lot of people worked behind them, there was no scandal with it basically, I paraphrased it wrongly and made it that the Ea was the one with the scandal when it didn't had one. The BBNV is the one with the scandal since as much as the same benefits seen in the Ea/Rapier Class are present, everyone sees it as entering an arms race no one really wants and where there is no use for in modern doctrine beyond another big stick to use, perhaps as expensive.

Ah... so, no BBNVs?

The Selkie wrote:Ah... so, no BBNVs?

More or less that they will be as controversial as their Teressian Counterparts, but yes, yes to the BBNV's, which would be 8 ships. In fact I've even had the name of the class.

Awesome. Which name would that be? Aurelia-class? ; )

The Selkie wrote:Awesome. Which name would that be? Aurelia-class? ; )

Perhaps ; )
Jokes aside, they will be called Royal Rose Class with eight ships of which only the lead ship and other three currently have names: Princess Royal, Royal Sovereign and Royal Knight.

Indeed. Of course, one could always go the AL!Nagato-Route... ; )

Already added the basics, details will follow after grocery shopping with my Mother. If we can add the details of the scandal one of these days, that'd be awesome.

That one or AL!Warspite.
Got it! And yeah, that would be an interesting story to read.

Stuff out of Admiral Fisher's drunk cabinet

4 10 inch guns
12 7.5 inch guns
Armour no thicker than 6 inches
25.5 knots max

and I'm looking at this and... if a German battleship/battlecruiser shot at this thing it'd go up like Krakatoa with all that ammo near eachother.

That one's from 1902. A.k.a. when the French were a bigger Naval Threat then the Germans. Cut the man some slack.
The only thing I'm a bit worries about is, that this boat is quite heavy on the front.

I’ve been half-working on Curious Heart’s language for a bit, which I’ve termed either Vaadish or Vaads. It’s like a blend of Middle English, Flemish and Scots. Verb conjugations are productive, as are all historic affixes. It’s related to Common Equestrian, though it’s nonetheless very archaic in comparison.

Here’s a few example sentences:
“Zest daä dat Enst?”
“Haä verest deë?”
“Huülda! Daä kan kalle me ‘Curie’. Aänim!”

Translated in order:
“(Do) you see that stallion?”
“How are you?” (Lit: “how farest thee?”)
“Hello! You can call me ‘Curie’. Pleased to meet you!” (Lit: “Hail [to] you! You can call me ‘Curie’. Pleased/convenient!”)

The prefix <ge-> and prepositions including ‘on, in’ are all represented by <a->. To be azlept means to ‘have slept’ as in the perfective, but to be azlepen means to be asleep, as it does in English.

I’m thinking of specifically making the accent sound like Wangerooges. Curie’s own name is probably Virwitert or Verwitert in her own tongue.

Vaads is a rural and working class language that’s experiencing decline as Common Equestrian becomes more widely spoken, so some that still speak it have become protective of the language. Curious Heart’s grandfather, who’s a big name farmer outside her hometown, refused her even the ability to speak Common in his presence, and given how much she respects him even now, that instinct has stuck with her that she swaps to Vaads at most opportunities.

Another feature of Vaads is that the final /t/ in ‘dat’ is dropped afore a consonant. Hence “dat Enst” and “da’ Maär” (that mare). In colloquial speech, it’s often integrated into the word itself, as in dat’enst and da’maär.
