The Coalition - Pryssian War, known as the Intercontinental War, was the first armed conflict Random took part in since landing on Vogol. It lasted 11 months from October 2218 and ending in September 2219 with the Treaty of Kyovogol. The war was initiated from the escalation of the borderlands crisis between Pryssia, Honni and the Ordiks, and, due to a series of alliances, the Yamerigans and eventually Random got involved. The latter of the two joined with Honni and the Ordiks to form the “Coalition”, though military cooperation between all the nations was limited. The war was primarily fought with light infantry and long-range missile strikes; at this point the Vogol nations lacked the industrial capabilities to field mechanized units.

Strength
Coalition:
Honni - 50,000
Ordik - 70,000
Yameriga - 7,600
Random - 20,000

Pryssia - 200,000

Casualties
Coalition:
Honni - 6,715, 137 civilians
Ordik - 19,010, 6000 civilians
Yameriga - 800
Random- 89, 4 civilians

Pryssia - 20k, 1k civilians.

The Borderland Crisis
The immediate cause for the war was a border dispute between Honni and Pryssia, two nations located in the north of Andara. Over the last decade, the Andarran hinterlands had been a region of violence and tension between colonists of the two and Ordik Vnion. The region they disputed over, Uberoia, was known for its temperate climate, its many waterways and lakes, and its abundance of life, and was highly sought after by each nation's colonists.

On August 12, 2218, things took a dramatic turn, when a clash between armed Pryssian frontiersmen and Honni colonists left over a dozen dead on each side. This outraged Honni, which shortly thereafter issued an ultimatum to Pryssia demanding they punish the perpetrators and recall all Pryssian activities in the region. The Pryssian government practically scoffed and brushed this ultimatum aside, doubting the resolve of their small and militarily weaker neighbor, which no doubt irritated them more. When the ultimatum's deadline expired on September 30th, the Honni shocked the world by launching their invasion into Pryssia.

The Northern Front
During the weeks preceding the invasion, while the Pryssians were resting on their laurels, the nation of Guangzhou had actively encouraged the Honni to follow through with an invasion, both through diplomatic channels, and with the sales of weapons. Guangzhou for their part had actively tried forming a coalition with various other nations against Pryssia, whom they saw as a threat to their rising global order. They had even considered joining their neighbor in the invasion, though they eventually resigned themselves to just observing and testing out Pryssia's strength.

Caught off guard by the invasion, the Pryssians were powerless to stop the invasion of their frontier. Their adversaries, armed with various light armored vehicles, blitzed through hundreds of miles of countryside in only a matter of weeks, overwhelming the lightly-armed militia armies in the region whenever they met. Settlement after settlement fell, and crop fields were razed by militia forces. Such a rapid advance shocked the world. Guangzhou announced that they would be supporting Honni financially and militarily by offering loans to them, which would be used to buy their weaponry. They had also sanctioned Pryssia, barring them from their extensive trade network. The Pryssians began to send their own proper military once their heartlands were being threatened around November. This put an end to the Honni blitz, but even then they were able to inflict some humiliating defeats on even the proper army. As winter rolled in, the war had turned into a stalemate slowly turning towards the defender's favor as they began use their greatest strength, their numbers. By the first month of the proceeding year, the Pryssians had gathered enough strength to launch a counteroffensive into their lost territories. Knowing they cannot hold the wide frontlines against their much more numerous enemy, the Honni pulled back to built-up defenses around the numerous lakes of the region.

By this point, the great power of Guangzhou had sensed an opportunity. The Pryssians had been humiliated abroad, and their military strength had been put into question. Joining at this point while seemingly no one could come to their defense would mean that they could put down the nation without any repercussions, and ensure that they remained the strongest nation on Vogol. However, other nation would jump on this opportunity before they could.

The Coalition
The Ordik Vnion had joined the war against Pryssia on January 20, 2219. Like Honni, they too had disputed claims in northern Andara. In fact, they were seen as much more aggressive with their colonization than anyone else, and had border disputes with nearly all of their neighbors. Not wanting to aid a rival enforce a claim, and potential give them credence for their claim of their territory, Guangzhou decided to stay out of the war; they were content to watch their two enemies tear each other apart.

The Commonwealth of Yameriga, an Ordic ally, joined with them a day later, honoring a military pact they signed with them. Random had a similar treaty with the Ordiks too, and while sympathetic to their cause, wanted absolutely no involvement in any military conflict. It took extensive pressure from the Ordiks threatening to break their "defensive" alliance to make Random join the conflict on first of February.

Now the "Coalition" as it was now called had grow to four nations against just one. With such an advantage on their side, the Ordik Vnion believed they would easily defeat their enemy, secure their claims in the North, and maybe even gain territory for their southern Colony in Osthelm. This, however, couldn't be further from the truth. With the news of the Ordik, Yameriga and even Random joining against them, the Pryssian leaders panicked. They began to fully mobilize their nation for war. Their economy had shifted to total war production, while they were raising an new army of 150 thousand soldiers, the largest army seen on Vogol at this point. Pryssia had split this new force into two armies; 50 thousand soldiers would go north to reinforce the attack on Honni and guard against any Ordik incursions in the North. The remaining 100k would go south, towards the colony of Osthelm. Here the most decisive military campaign of the war will unfold.

The Southern Front
The Ordiks had struck first. They launched a minor offensive into Pryssia's southern coast, capturing a few villages. The Ordiks initial plan was to launch an armored spearhead from the North across the frigid Polar Melts with their armored divisions, one of the few equipped with proper tanks, where they would cut-off and annihilate the Pryssian army engaging the Honni in Uberoia. From their the combined forces of the Ordiks, Yameriga, and Honni would sweep through the defenseless Andaran plains, capture enormous amounts of territory. Their main design for the southern front would be to defend the southern colony, waiting for a substantial military build-up from Random and Ordik/Yamerigan reinforcements to reach traverse the months-long journey to the south. From there they would launch attacks from the colony into southern Pryssia. With the northern and southern fronts collapsing, the Pryssians would have no choice but to go to the negotiating table, where the victors would carve up Pryssia's lands.

This would not come to fruition.

Pryssia had other plans. The southern army was still in training, though some of the infantry units were beginning to finish their training. Pryssia would send these units first. During March the first battles of the southern front would take place, as some 30k soldiers advanced towards the colony. They engaged and destroyed the small garrison force in the north of the colony, before further advancing south and encircling the city of Osthelm – the namesake city of the colony. The Ordiks pulled out of their incursion back to their colony. They had hoped that Random would, by this point, send their own armies to the Osthelm colony. But they had not, Random's army was small, underequipped, and mainly focus on defending their own territory. Random was already engaged in a blockade and launching numerous air & ballistic missile strikes. They refused to raise and send any ground force to Osthelm, much to their dismay.

By April reinforcements from the Ordik and Yamerigan mainland had finally reached the colony. Linking up the colony's army, they marched east to relieve the siege of Osthelm. Pryssia had finished training another portion of their southern Army, and sent it south to reinforce their besieging army. When coalition forces arrived to the battle, they were surprised to be met by a force nearly twice their size. They battled for a month, trying in vain to relieve the besieged settlement. By May, the final component of the southern army had finished training, the tank and mechanized brigades. They headed south, going around Lake Centonar, they flanked from the south, surprising the coalition army. Facing encirclement the battered coalition army pulled out of the battle. Osthelm had been leveled, months of artillery, airstrikes and missile barrages had flattened the settlement. The complete annihilation of the city and its inhabitants was decried as a war crime by the Ordiks, and Pryssia was highly condemned by even their allies for this act.

Nevertheless Pryssia charged on. Throughout May the mechanized "lightning rush" advanced 1000 kilometers west, winning multiple victories against the coalition armies. The population, fearing that their settlements would be turned into the next Osthelm, began a panicked evacuation out of the colony. By June, the Ordiks had retreated to the coast. Though the majority of their army had been lost to the Pryssians, a substantial force still remained that needed to be extricated. The Randomians had reluctantly sent a small ground force after months of pressure. It was already too late to save the colony; they were sent to hold the hold the defense against the Pryssians closing in on the city as the rest of the colony pulled-out through the only remaining port of the colony. Likened to a modern-day Dunkirk, the combined Randomian, Ordik and Yamerigan navies evacuated thousands of troops and refugees out of the colony before the city fell.

The defeat of the coalition and destruction of the Osthelm colony was celebrated across Pryssia. In the North, concurrent the lightning rush, the Ordiks own armored force is destroyed by a highly coordinated Pryssian hypersonic cruise missile strike while en-route. Over 60 vehicles are destroyed or are left behind in the mud they were crossing. The northern thrust never materializes. A small detachment of the Northern army is sent in August to advance on the Ordik colonies in the polar region.

End of the War
While the Pryssians are winning great victories against the Ordiks, however, the assault against what they consider their main enemy, Honni, is not going well at all. For months the Northern army had launched failed attack after failed attack against the entrenched Honni lines. Despite being outnumbered 10:1 in some area, the Honni firmly held their defense in Uberoria, aided by Guangzhou weaponry and advanced anti-air systems that protected their skies against missiles and drones. Thousands of Pryssians were lost to the Honni, the most out of any nation.

In the end, the Pryssians were forced to the negotiating table, not by Ordik military victories, but by exhaustion. Their military stockpile and resources had depleted, and the total mobilization of their economy had stalled colonization efforts, stunting their growth. They saw no farther gains to be made against Honni or the rest of the coalition.

A ceasefire had been negotiated on August 30th. The Peace settlement was discussed in the Honni city of Kyovogol. Pryssia, ostensibly the victor of the conflict, had largely led the peace talks, and had directed most of their anger against the debilitated Ordik Vnion. The Ordiks were forced to abandon all their claims in north Andara and was barred from further colonization in the region. In the South the Osthelm colony was to be abandoned, and all the remaining colonists in the region was to be expelled (the majority of colonists choose to settle in Random rather than return to the Ordik Vnion). Random and Yameriga, for their minor part in the war, were left pretty much of the hook. The only nation who could be considered a victor in the war was Honni. They managed to defend their honor & territorial claims from Pryssia, and in the peace treaty they negotiated setting the border between the two straight down the middle of their respective claims. They also managed to get perpetrators of the massacre that started the war punished, and compensation was given to the families of the deceased, giving Honni the vengeance they desired.
