Uhh.... No.... no it isn't... But hey, I get money so.... screw it.

For decades, the once-great Ottoman Empire had been pushed around and humiliated by European powers. Their people have been exploited and made as slaves in the past. Now the time has come to rise victoriously against the enemies of Allah and his children. A vast modernization project had been pursued in the mid 1880s with mixed results. Now was the time to encourage the people to rise up and seize the means of production from all the greedy foreign businessmen who exploited the Ottoman people for profit. Multiple uprisings happened throughout the country led by workers' unions and ultranationalists to rid the country of foreign influence and control. The Ottoman military soon joined in and expelled many European business owners from the country and seized the factories and plantations and gave them to common workers. Christian missionaries were persecuted and driven out of the country by pious Muslims. Abdul Hamid II had recently begun a series of political purges as suspected enemies of the empire were dragged off into the Arabian desert at night and never heard of again. He began a five-year military mobilization program that would see the modernization and expansion of the Ottoman military into a force capable of warding off any potential threat to his empire.

Very unbased for New canada project and The Greater Western Union
But wait if they hate Europeans it wouldn’t make sense for them to join the central powers.

Dear Nations of the World,

I write to you all in a time of great division, it is with this letter I hope we can all agree on despite the circumstances. China has long been ours to enjoy since the 1st Opium War but like in Africa there are opposing sides, while the conference of Rome has seen worries about conflict on the colonial coasts put to rest I am willing to say in the interior there will be disagreement. And disagreements where blood might be shed, in such a world it’s likely the lands of the Qing Dynasty will become a all-out competition, not one for direct control over territories but of influence, power over industries.

Therefore we see it fit before that becomes the case the leaders of the world come to a agreement, in a treaty that every nation will agree that yes, China will be open to all powers equally so as to meditate our disagreements. This will mean no more exclusive trading zones but if you believe in peace, the right of all businessmen to trade and in open markets then that is something that will not phase your people.

If you are in agreement with our proposal then please send a diplomat to the Foreign Legations to join in our policy.

Sincerely yours,

Oscar II.
