Bro literally same
That’s the only soda I’ll drink
Or cream soda
But Dr. Pepper cream soda?
:)))))

I was just looking at some of my stuff and noticed my official animal is a “pibi”
So I looked at my language factbook
And learned that pibi is slang for b*tch
So I should maybe change that

That's the thing. We are a landlocked nation between two ever-rising nukes-wielding Asian giants with no navigable rivers and almost zero resources; not to mention being a very conservative place with a history of isolationism. In this modern day, we are destined to be either India's or China's bitch (more so India's because they surround us on three sides, have similar cultures and open border...)

I would be surprised if this country even exists by the time I am in my death bed. Which is why, I support this thing called MCC that will allow an outside party like the US to hopefully tip the balance of our neighbors (the only thing I don't like bout this is that Muricans affiliated with the program can do some crime and not be arrested or charged here). But people here are too dumb and protesting against the only way to reduce our dependence on India or China. "We will be another Syria/Iraq if the US is here..." keep saying that while Indian media labels us "2nd Pakistan" and Chinese see as nothing more than a stick to poke India with.

Sigh, I am rambling nonsense again. Have a good day, everyone.

I would hate to see your nation disappear. And as much as people hate on the US, between it and China or India. The US would be the best bet probably to keep your autonomy. China would ethnically cleansed you and India would absorb you guys I imagine. Not my place but hey, Iraq and Afghanistan still exist (and they shouldnt. Should have broken those places down into religious countries so that they’d be more stable)

I've been scanning through everyone's histories and obviously Athara magarat is a candidate, but I thought maybe more non-colonial folks like Miklania would be interested or maybe Havalland considering your proximity. This would play nicely into why Austrenya enters the war on its own weird semi-Neo-Imperialist-but-not-officially team. Just food for thought. :)

Athara magarat wrote:Okay...so what is the deal with Pinoys now calling themselves Pacific Islanders?

As a Filipino/Pinoy myself the only thing I can say is at this point in time we don't know what we are anymore and quiet frankly the majority probably doesn't care either, mostly from my understanding our history goes way back even before the Spaniards came to the islands showing evidence that we are no different from our Malay brethren which is shown today with our Moro/Muslim brothers in Mindanao region but for filipino history classes it all starts off from when the Spanish came to colonize us and from there on out that pretty much sums up our history 1521 to present day.

But as for the race/ethnicity thing, well as said we are most likely the same with the Malays , early tribes shown we also have eastern Asians settled in the country as traders, merchants, plus I read somewhere that after the Spanish came they were afraid of a possible uprising so they encourage their own citizens be it from Spain or any of their colonies along with local filipinos and other foreigners from the region to marry since no Filipino leader/sultan is willing to enslave their own people. And lastly the cherry on top would be our surnames since the Spaniards gave it to us for census purposes which further adds to the confusion of us asking whether we are latin, east asian, or Pacific Islanders.

But overall that's pretty much from what I know and articles that I came across so it's not really a official since even our own historians and tribes are still debating it to this day.

Though that's just my two cents. :)

Here in Europe we have 112 (pan European emergency number) and then the police and etc. are depending on what country are you in. In Poland it's:
Police: 997
Medical help: 999
Fire brigade: 998

Iraq...dunno maybe...but Afghanistan has always been its own thing.

Yeah, I do have to agree with India being the better option. While it may have serious discrimination problems against Northeast Indians, South Indians, the Adivasis and Muslims and mob justice there is really bad; it has not forced its minority women to get sterilized, forced their children to get "educated" or sent its dissidents into "re-education camps". Nepali-speaking Indians in Sikkim and Darjeeling Hills of West Bengal have much better Quality of Life than here.

That said, Indians should really look at themselves before always shouting "Pakistan aur Chin ne mil kar sajis kar rahe he". Always postpone the India-Bangladesh-Myanmar oil pipeline because you do not want to pay Bangladesh (and Myanmar now sells its oil to China while the India-Bangladesh-Myanmar pipeline is still being discussed and postponed), label Bangladeshis as "rapist Muslim Bengalis here to steal our jobs" to win local elections, arrest Sri Lankan fishermen on Sri Lankan waters so Indian fishermen can illegally work there, arm terrorists and separatists in Sri Lanka, blockade landlocked Nepal while it had an earthquake and a pro-Indian government (and indirectly allow a communist anti-India government to win the elections in landslide victory) and so on. And they (especially right-wing Hinduvata folks) wonder why every neighbor except Bhutan hates their government and media.

Suspect everyone...even the pigeons
Weird flex, but ok
Grandmas be like...
Cards go vroom

Poet Laureate Competition

June brought around the XKI Poet Laureate Competition where the region's finest poet's faced off on the topic of 'anger', aiming for the best poem on the topic in any form or style. The winner of this competition was Liberdon and their poem, The Storm's Wrath, is featured below:

The Storm’s Wrath

The midnight sea lay still
Until a wind started to blow
And silence fell to a shrill
And once calm waves began to grow

Far above foaming dark
Rested thatched roofs and clay walls
Nestled in straw, a lark
All unaware as the wind calls

Higher! Higher! the waves howl
Leaping, lashing the salty rock
Suddenly the skies growl
Tick, tock, tick says the clock

Crash! A terrible sound
Waves strike and tear, unleashing wrath
Bash! Bang! Roar! the waves bound
Forgetting caution, the waves scathe

Wind grows weary and dies
Waves calm and recede to the sea
Morning dawns on clear skies
But on wreckage and debris

But do not despair, for
The storm has no more spite
Rejoice and leap and soar
And rebuild what was lost last night

For no storm can last long
And clear skies will always return
The trick is staying strong
Until the waves and wrath adjourn

Until next month, your XKI Update Staff is signing off - Grea Kriopia
