On the Abolishment of the Monarchy

A few weeks ago the monarchy was abolished. Neither Our Great Leader nor the government of the Oppressed Peoples of Statecontrol gave any real answer as to why it happened back in the day. The abolishment was just announced without further elaboration. Hence, it is time to inform our great Nation of the reasoning behind said action. The restoration of the monarchy proved to be highly divisive. Conservative rural Statecontrol staunchly supported it, as they believed it was a stepping stone in the reconstruction of our beloved Nation on the basis of our traditional values, whereas progressive urban Statecontrol staunchly opposed it, arguing it would bring our beloved Nation back to the Dark Ages. In order to solve this controversy, Our Great Leader threw a coin in the air and, after seeing the result, He decided to unilaterally abolish the monarchy. If Statecontrolians decided in a referendum to restore the monarchy, said decision would be swiftly instated.
