The Statecontrolian Family

The Statecontrolian Family is arguably one of the best identifying traits of our culture. "The typical Statecontrolian Family," as world-renowned Statecontrolian ethnographer Ed Nographer puts it, "is a complex mix of ancient Statecontrolian family systems, which originated in the ethnic tribes which previously populated Our Beloved Nation, and more recent systems brought in through immigration waves and colonization. Statecontrolian families are centered around the figure of the Whosthisman, a former convict who was forced to marry an already married woman in order to regain his place in society. As you might have guessed, the Whosthisman was a mechanism by which former convicts could be readmitted into the family, and he was meant to take the role of the father after ten years of marriage, when the father had to kill himself in a ritualised religious practice. Nowadays, the Whosthisman is simply the lover of one member of the couple, and marrying him, or her, is not mandatory. And mandatory paternal suicide is thankfully long forgotten."
