With the death of the King and the panic of a new wave of Korintheyan Raiders the second Vorodiz (the actual second was before the rewrite) is being held. A few days earlier all of the other 3 houses have disputed Jaon II 's right to the throne and have presented documents which back their right as the designated heir. The 4 houses are now preparing for war against each other and sent convoys carrying gifts and the request to back support them in the upcoming conflict for the throne of Toast

The candidates for the Throne:

House Derovid: Jaon Lerdwik II who like many of his close relatives is unmarried is known for being very hedonistic, selfish and will definitely care more about enjoying himself than ruling the kingdom

House Foretan: Mjertin Hevjan III is a quiet and reserved man, however, one of the topics he isn't quiet about his religion and he is known for his devotion but also for being open-minded on the topic

House Gorodas: If Kert Jenes I is known for one thing its greed. He admires the many raiders that pillage the world and dreams of being the richest man that ever lived

House Terdan: Many could tell of the hot-headedness and short attention span that define Merjy Erjich, often being fanatical on one topic just to be amazed by something else moments later

Whoever wins the conflict will define the future of the kingdom. That is until the next succession crisis plunes the nation into chaos once again

During the ongoing Vorodiz, the priests are currently debating if they should intervene in the coming succession war. If they decide they should, the candidate who receives their support will have a clear advantage and is likely to win if no one else receives foreign support.

Following the retreat from Ferneus, The Veleni have decided to perform small border raids, rather than full on incursions deep into the heart of the country. Upon encountering walled settlements, they demand tribute, this tribute being large quantities of jewelry and gold.

The garrison forces tell the invaders to shove it. Meanwhile, the Empress arrives at the main base for Fernusi armies. She stays there for the time being.

With word of a defeat of the Veneni and them being reduced to petty raiding, a force of raiders, 10,000 strong, though spread out across many area, has begun to challenge themselves with attacks the Veleni, it is believed that this will bring them honor.

Deep in the Snowpine mountains, Titleki workers toil endlessly in the many mines owned by ruthless merchant houses. One man is mining in the lower levels when a black powdery substance emerges from a crack in the stone. Thinking it was crushed coal, he put it in the nearby heating furnace... At the entrance, many men were being overseen by their foreman when a sudden boom shakes the mine and knocks the men to the ground. Bewildered and still realing from the thunderous sound, the men look at the mine to see parts of it collapsing from the force. Several men volunteer to go in and help survivors, only to never be seen again.

After some time, the powder begins to make its way back to the empire in vast quantities as the Imperial College of Science and learning, wishes to study it, as does the War Academy, and several other groups. a shipment is even given to the emperor as a gift, though it will most likely end up in some vault.

Merchants decide they can profit off of the substance and start charging absorbant prices for the powder. After a while, scholars determine that the substance is explosive. Many ideas are circulated on how the powder could be utilized, but none make serious progress.

The Storm arrives

That war was inevitable was clear from the moment the former king died but when was unclear. A few days ago the Vorodiz has ended and it was decided that the Retjeri es Befrogir will support House Foretan. Now House Foretan ignited the War and is assaulting the part of Godan that is controlled by House Derovid

An Archuchy needs to lose all of their cities and their capital to exit the war

Archduchy of Terdan
Neuburk: Controlled by House Terdan
Estdan: Controlled by House Terdan

Vogjat: Controlled by House Terdan

Archduchy of Gorodas

Archduchy of Derovid:

Vordan: Controlled by House Derovid
Furan: Controlled by House Derovid
Godan (South): contested between Derovid and Foretan

Imperial korintheya since you support House Derovid you could either control your troops yourself or put them under the command of House Derovid

The settlements are largely deserted, and they offer the Veleni what they have, which is hardly anything. Most things of value have been carried away far from the border.

I checked wikipedia to be sure: Gunpowder is the first explosive to have been developed. Popularly listed as one of the "Four Great Inventions" of China, it was discovered during the late Tang dynasty (9th century) but the earliest record of a written formula appeared in the Song dynasty (11th century). I figured i'd have it, but i won't be able to really do anything with it.

Exactly. Stuff like firearms didn't appear until the 13th and 14th centuries, but they at least knew about it.

Sulfur and Gunpowder were originally thought to be the elixir to life lol - I think, correct if I am wrong, but kinda Ironic.

The Imperial force now landed (Allegiance Force (51,200 men) under Allegiance General Varium, makes a speedy march and rendezvous with a Derovid force and launches an assault and enters into a siege against the Fortan city of Godan in well entrenched postitions, with the Imperial Navy securing its own position and an iron grip on all of the surrounding waters. Meanwhile, the Imperial force digs in and deployes itself into a fortress position using the numerous engineering skills of the force to full effect.

The Storm continues...

While the Foretan assault on Godan seemed to go well at first, that all changed when the Korintheyan Allegiance Force arrived. Being horrendously outnumbered, they were quickly pushed back and only thanks to a few Retjeri most of the Foretan Troops in Godan could be evacuated and can be used in the defence of the northern, foretanian part of the city. The arrival of the Korintheyan Navy gives House Derovid an even bigger advantage with the rivers being dominated by them. House Foretan now changed their strategy and use the fact that almost all of their territory is covered by the 'death-forest' by ambushing any troops that attempt to move towards the major cities. House Terdan and Gorodas have mainly focused on each other with Gorodas trying to gain an advantage by destroying the "eastern front" and House Terdan trying to use the advantage of only having to fight at one front.

CHANGES:
Godan (South): contested between Derovid and Foretan -> Controlled by House Derovid
