Dang. I'm not the only one then.

Ferneus wrote:Lucas Hull, a high ranking member of the Carnelli crime family, laid the newspaper on the table. "You know what this means gentlemen...." The other members looked at him expecting an answer. "We're gonna be stinking rich!" The others cheered and had a celebratory game of poker while drunk on an expensive German lager.

Interesting.

Also, can we please remove executive from WA delegate, seeing as Balticonia owns Sparkhill so there's no need, plus we can always get raided. Just an extra precaution.

William Rettaroli met with one of his clients in a secluded allyway. "So... Ya gonna pay up?" The man was oddly calm although he knew he would possibly die. "No way. With the Lucatellis gaining power, i won't be safe even with your 'protection'" William looked at the man and pulled out a 1911. "If you end up ditching us, it won't be just the Lucatellis who are after your head." The man started to get nervous, and backed up. "When i'm done with you, your guts will look like a chicken noodle soup." Two shots rang out. A man frantically turned the corner only to find a man dead on the ground with two holes in his chest. When the police arrived, they couldn't figure out exactly what had happened. They knew the Carnellis operated in the area, but they were considered too small to be able to pull off a hit like this. It was chalked up to an everyday murder.

MEET THE LUCATELLIS

A thorough overview of the Lucatelli Crime Family, also known as the Lucatelli gang or the Downtown Manhattan Gang

Angelo Lucatelli
Born 1897, Angelo Lucatelli is the boss of the Lucatelli crime family. Born in Italy, he immigrated to Italy with his parents around 1910. He lived in poverty during his childhood and teenage years and his parents both died at a very young age. This led to him pursuing a life of crime in his late teenage years. He quickly rose through the ranks of local gangs in Manhattan and by 1919, he had formed many associates and partners, which he used to form his own gang, the Lucatelli gang.

Guido Ammedori
Angelo's right-hand man. Born in 1895. Also immigrated to New York from Italy with his parents. He ran a local petty robbery gang until he joined up with Angelo to pursue more lucrative and more nefarious methods of making money. Is often regarded as a businessman rather than a criminal, as he is the brains of the more financial schemes of the Lucatelli gang.

Marco Rizzi
One of Angelo's captains and a close friend of Guido. He too runs some of the more financial schemes (loansharking, tax evasion, etc.), though he is also known as a strong soldier, as he also runs some of the more 'gritty' crimes (protection rackets and now with the recent passing of prohibition, bootlegging).

Sonny Tomelli
Another one of Angelo's captains. He handles most of the rougher crimes including drug trafficking. Not much else is known about him except he used to work at the docks as a teenager.

Luciano Vitali
Another one of Angelo's captains. Not much is known about him and what he does, though he seems to work very closely with Guido Ammedori.

There are many more members but there are just the most high-profile ones.

Wait, who died in this? The Rettaroli guy or the client?

A DINNER WITH FRIENDS

Marco Rizzi: Hey look, Sonny, we're on the newspapers!

Sonny Tomelli: What you mean?

Marco (handing over a newspaper): Take a look.

STOREOWNER AND SUSPECTED RACKETEER SHOT DEAD BY TWO MEN

Sonny (chuckling): Well, it's good to know nobody suspects us.

Marco: What you think about the whole prohibition thing?

Sonny: Prohibtion?

Marco: Yeah, the boss thinks we just struck gold into what he thinks will turn out into a very profitable business.

Sonny: I don't know Marco, whatever gets me money, I'm in.

Marco: I guess you're right.

Luciano Vitali: What you boys talking about?

Sonny: Ah we were just discussing the whole prohibition thing, the boss thinks we can make some real money off of it.

Luciano: Let's hope so. You guys hear about the recent killing?

Marco: What the hit we took out on Benny Summers or?

Luciano: No, I'm talking about that one in Carnelli territory.

Sonny: Ain't heard of it. Anything special?

Luciano: Don't think so, they brushed it off as an everyday murder, because they don't think the Carnellis were big enough to pull it off.

Marco: Not big enough?

Sonny: Who got killed?

Luciano: Don't know.

Sonny: Eh well if you don't know, weren't nobody important. Must've just been a Carnelli killing. Don't matter to us.

The room is dark, but the air is fresh, indicating an absence of any cigaret smoke and closed windows, there is a table, dimly lit by a single candle at the end is a man whose face is partially obscured by his hat's shadow. On the other side is another man, far younger, his face is completely unobscured and has a series of scars crossing through his face, his skin tone is olive, but his eyes are blue. Among them are twelve other men, each of them having a variation of scars and skin tones ranging from a deep olive, to a pale white, all are wearing suites. The older man begins, voice is raspy (kinda like maul's from Star Wars if u want a reference), "I am told that weapon sales are up, this is true, Velisk?"
A man on the left side of the table nods, "people are buying more and more nowadays, perhaps there are enough catalysts in the equation to make our own moves, I want the drug syndicates to begin imports, I also want our men on stand by, Gromis, be prepared to do some killing, I want your men on stand by." The man on the opposite side of the table nods, I can deal with the other families should they interfere."
"Good, then this meeting is adjourned."
Each leave through a separate door way, to their own areas as their wheels begin to turn.

MANHATTAN | NEW YORK CITY | JAN 20TH 1920
It happened around 10:30 am yesterday. 2 armed men walked into the store of one Benny Summers, a suspected racketeer engaged in loansharking and other nefarious affairs. According to an eyewitness who was browsing the store at the same time, the 2 men walked up to the counter, where Benny Summers proceeded to ask the men how he could help them. Not one second later, they drew their pistols and shot twice at the man, supposedly killing him in an instant. They immediately ran out where they picked up by a car whose license plate no one could recall. Eyewitnesses described them as 2 caucasian males, both around 5'10", wearing black suits. Not much other details could be procured from the eyewitnesses.

Authorities believe that the murder was a hit ordered by the Lucatelli Crime Family, a new crime family which has recently established itself in downtown manhattan. Benny Summers was suspected to have owned a loansharking racket and his connections with the Burke family, an Irish crime family and longtime rival of the Lucatellis, located also in downtown manhattan, drew the ire of the Lucatellis, who took him out in a most spiteful manner. Many worry this may be the beginning of a new gang war between the Burkes and the Lucatellis, though it is still too soon to be sure.

For future reference, I don't believe that Italians and Irish were considered Caucasian during this time period. The definition of Caucasian has gradually widened over time, and at this point in time, most Europeans were considered Caucasian except Irish and Italians.

Oh ok, my bad. Interwar period isn't my strong suit, so yeah.

Vespasiano Manzolillo paces thoughtfully, contemplating his next move, when his son, Alberto bursts through the door. The morning news is slapped onto the table, and Vespasiano stares at it without saying a word. Looking back to Alberto, he starts walking towards the door. "You know what this means." Alberto hurriedly rushes out the door behind his father.

Late that evening, four men are seen in the shadows of the street. They disperse and a moment later, one of them crumples to the ground. A shot rings out from another man, who rushes over to the dead man, stabbed in the side. The victim is Marciano Terzo, owner of a local laundromat. The reason for his murder is uncertain.

I see, well I'm still restricted to mostly downtown manhattan but maybe I can get some RP going. Give me some minutes.

Vespasiano Manzolillo: Crime Boss of Brooklyn. Formerly part of the Manzolillo-Mancili gang, but shot his partner Giancarlo Mancili 6 years ago. Since then, the two families have been in a bitter feud, with the people of Brooklyn caught up in the crossfire. Manzolillo was born in Queens in 1881. His father was an alcoholic and abandoned his family when he was very young, and he grew up very poor. He joined a gang at the age of 12, and has risen up the ranks since then.

Alberto Manzolillo: Vespasiano's son and most trusted partner, he grew up in the gang of his father. He is 17 years old.

Tommaso Manzolillo: Aged 15, Alberto's younger brother, sometimes called Tommy. Less trusted by his father, and more independent.

THE NUMBERS GAME

GRAVESEND | MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY | FEB 19TH 1920

Giuseppe 'Gyp' Bottari:
You sure about this Mikey? Seems pretty risky. I mean this isn't our territory. Boss won't be happy."

Michael Tortora:
"Oh shut up, will you. Things'll be fine. I got it worked out. Boss wants us to start expanding. This is a start."

Giuseppe:
"You better. So what's the play?"

Mikey:
"It ain't no play. This ain't some big operation. We're just getting this guy to uh...voluntarily give up his bar. You know what I mean?"

Giuseppe
"Ok."

--------------------------------------------------

Giuseppe:
"Hey, there he is."

Mikey:
"Ok, good. Now, remember we ain't here to kill nobody, we just want to roughen him up enough so that he gives up his bar. Now come on, get outta the car."

Giuseppe:
"Hey mister! Remember us!"

Bar Owner:
"I said I don't want you people here. Go away."

Mikey:
"Hey mister, come on, you know this isn't a choice. We'll pay."

Bar Owner:
"How much?"

Mikey:
"About 200."

Bar Owner (scoffing):
"Hah. No deal. Now get outta my sight."

Giuseppe (pulling out his gun):
"You think we'd be here if we woulda let you say no?"

[/pre]Bar Owner:[/pre]"You boys make me sick. I know you won't kill me."

Marco (turning his back and walking away):
"You're right, we won't. We'll do worse. It was a pleasure doing business, we'll see you again sometime."

--------------------------------------------------

Giuseppe:
"Why'd you let him off that easy? We didn't even hit him. We could've got it, we shouldn't have given up."

Marco:
"Maybe you're right but...who cares anyway."

Giuseppe:
"I care. The boss'll care. Those goddamn Manzolillos care. We're blowing up a place on their territory."

Marco:
"Just shut up and get me this fire started."
